Questions from an "old timer"

I have been on this WOE for 2 1/2 years but the past few months "legal treats" have creeped into my daily life and I've paid the price. I think after this long of a period, I am pretty well entrenched in this woe.

So, I have joined the 12 week transformation challenge and am determined to eat clean. I am writing down everything I eat and counting every carb.

So my questions:

1. How long before I get into heavy ketosis again?
2. Do most people count the carbs in coffee? It is like 1 carb per mug according to fitday.
3. I am a very slow loser so when I start adding back carbs in 5g increments, I have a hard time figuring out when I stall. Any thoughts on this?

1. How long before I get into heavy ketosis again? 2-3 days
2. Do most people count the carbs in coffee? No, however you should try to keep it to 1-2 cups/day.
3. I am a very slow loser so when I start adding back carbs in 5g increments, I have a hard time figuring out when I stall. Any thoughts on this? Pay close attention to the diiference in the rate of your weight loss as you add back your foods.

I have a question for you, what was your ACE (Atkins Carbohydrate Equilibrium) before you started gaining?

I never could determine any level since I tend to stall and/or lose at such a slow rate that its difficult to determine whether its a stall caused by the extra 5 grams of carbs or just my slow rate of weight loss. I don't necessarily see a weekly weight loss.

That is my dilemma.

How many carbs were you consuming before you fell pray to carb creep over the last 2 1/2 months?

You say you have followed the Atkins WOE for years, how many carbs were you eating?

I don't know, I wasn't tracking for the last several months. However I have started off new as of 9/1 back to induction levels.

Question!

LOL Ok..I'm asumeing here that ACE is a term that comes from Atkins for life? I have all the versions (starting from the 70's one) of DANDR and don't remember this term.

IS it based on what your carb level is at maintenence??

Thanks!

Critical Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance (CCLM) is the same thing as Atkins Carbohydrate Equilibrium (ACE). It is how we now refer to your individual threshold of carbohydrates that you can consume to maintain your weight in all education material, including on our website and Atkins For Life. Your ACE is key to Lifetime Maintenance. You can learn more on our website, http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-39302.html
