Help..I can't figure this out
I am on my third week or induction, I began on August 12th and have only lost 5 pounds. I am 5'3" and weigh 174 began at 179.
I am in ketosis in the last two purple colors, but it took two weeks to get there. I am losing a few inches, but feel stalled out. I am using fit day and am eating 14 to 21 carbs and 1600 to 2000 calories. I usually eat an advantage bar every other day. I was tired and sluggish with headaches but they have passed. I very rarely desire to eat sugar ..unless I'm around it, but never indulge and do not cheat at all..not even a taste. I take vitamins from herbalife. To my knowledge I am not eating over my carbs unless there are hidden carbs somewhere. I am exercising..3 times a week. I am 42. I do not want to give up, but I have friends and family that have lost mega weight on this diet. I was on WW for 6 months and lost 20 pounds and stalled out. I never felt full and satisfied with the meals. This was todays meal B..2 eggs 4 pcs bacon exercised for 30 minutes snack 2 slices ham w/cream cheese lunch 6 oz hamburger on lettuce advantage bar supper 2 porkchops w/cup salad 2-3 tbls ranch dressing 1 carb for 2 tbs. 2-3 bottles of water daily..sometimes more. Any tips to pick up the weight loss? Thanks

I'd say cut out the bar and the ham.
Go for whole foods and no processed meats. Edited to add, more water! I drink at least 98 ounces and it makes a difference. Last edited by tiggerr : 09-01-2004 at 10:14 PM. |

You should not be too hard on yourself and certainly you should not give up! Especially, because you are losing (inches lost is more important that weight reflected on the scale) weight and are satisfied with the food plan.
Everyone loses weight at different rates and you are being too hard on yourself because you are comparing yourself to others. In my opinion you are doing fine and should save the worrying for other things. In order for you to reach your goal, no matter what plan you use, you must be committed. If not you wil end up jumping from plan to plan without getting any real success as you would from sticking with a healthy WOE. In your case, I urge you to focus on how your cloths look/fit, how you feel and on how others compliment you. Only you will know what the # on the scale says, everyone else will see a thinner person. For those who exercise, inches come off first. There are a few things that I believe may help. Limit bacon/sausage to 2 pcs not more than 3x/week exercise for 30-45 minutes 6x/week Is the ham freshly made or is it preserved with sugar? Check the ingredients section on your label? Consume 2-3 cups of salad vegetables (this adds fiber, is it possible you are constipated?) Fat sometimes helps increase weight loss, substituting your dressing for olive oil and lemon juice or vinegar may help. Focus on your loss of inches and weight, stay motivated! Please let me know how these suggestions work for you. |
