Suppelements and hypothyroidism
Hi everyone!
I was going through some previous posts by people and saw that one person had posted that CO Q10 was not to be taken by thyroid patients. I am hypothyroid and am curious to know which other supplements that Dr. Atkings recommends in his book should not be taken by thyroid patients? Thanks |

I suggest you refer to Dr. Atkins Vita-Nutrient solution.
CoQ10 is ok and may be beneficial for hypothyroid. Do you exercise? How much water do you drink? Are you on medications? I will say that for individuals who have low thyroid and may be beneficial not to lower carbs below 30-35 grams. Good luck |

Could you explain why someone with low thyroid should not eat less than 30=35 carbs a day? Also, does this apply to someone who has normal thyroid readings with medication (Synthroid)
Thanks. |

Well, I'm not the nutritionist, but I believe you need some carbs (thus her suggested range) for T3/T4 conversion.
Also, when you say you have "normal" thyroid readings with Synthroid - - do you mean your free T/3/4 - or just your TSH? |
