what will happen if I don't do induction

I know about cravings and stuff, but even when I do the program right, I crave foods. So my question is.. Would it hurt to try a modified version of induction? Using the premise of about 20 grams. However allowing other foods. Such as cottage cheese, berries and nuts earlier...

I know it isn't recommended, and I'll probably try it anyways, but is there a MEDICAL basis for only eating meat and acceptable veggies...

Not talking a cravings thing.... That I believe is more pyschological..

a check in about this!

I've been doing this woe for about a week now, and am down 5 lbs. I have terrible cravings, but I can have the things I want. LC bread, pasta and ice cream.

All under 20 grams of carbs.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I am happy to hear from you.

How many carbs are you eating and are you eating your 3-4 cups of veggies?

You may want to keep a food journal to track exactly when the cravings start. Then you may be able to determine if it is one food or more and will be able to adjust foods accordingly.

It is great that things are working out for you, congrats on your first 5 pounds, keep up the good work!

This is really interesting to me, I would like to do a similar version once I get closer to goal. I miss cottage cheese etc...and want to add some of it back in.

Keep us posted on how it is going for you.

If you want to add cottage cheese, you should. There is no reason you should not. Add one serving 2-3 times/week and monitor your progress.

Do not deprive yourself!

Make the plan work for you!

veggies

I eat some veggies, but not the 3-4 cups!

I eat maybe 1 cup or so and then fill in the other 15 or so grams of carbs with perhaps a sandwich for lunch using low carb bread, or I'll have dreamfields with carb options sauce (I make a killer meat sauce)....

Here is a typical menu:

B: 1 egg scrambled 2 sl bacon 1 low carb tortilla (buena vida whole wheat has 3 net carbs), 1/2 tsp sour cream.. wrapped

Lunch: 1 cup salad w/ ranch, or a burger from McD's (legalized)

Dinner: 2oz dreamfields (1 serving), 1/2 cup sauce and low carb garlic toast (if I ate a burger for lunch), a veggie if I ate salad..

Sometimes I'll have sf jello, sf pudding or some other low carb goody.

I don't go much over 20. I'm sure occasionally I do, but it is rare.

What is the calorie and nutrient breakdown of this?

I think you may be craving because you are not eating enough. Or certainly, not enough protein. Protein and fat add palatability and satiety to your meals.

You should be eating protein at every meal and snack.

I am not surprised you are craving after seeing your menu, I think anyone would be hungry. Try eating snacks between meals.

This may help the cravings.

nah

I have plenty of protein.

Breakfast is mostly protein.

Lunch ususally has chicken on the salad, or a burger, which is protein

Dinner has lots of meat in the sauce, as I love meat sauce.

I don't feel hungry. I just crave things. Even when I do induction right I crave.

I've come up with stress being a factor in these cravings. Most of the time I'm fine with them, when I'm stressed that is the time I think about these cravings the most.

The reasons to stick to an Induction of protein, fat, and ~20 grams a day of induction veggies are

1) To regulate your insulin levels and your metabolism
2) To eliminate cravings
3) To induce ketosis and reduce your hunger.

You are eating more carbs than you think. Outside of fiber..many people find "netting carbs" doesn't help their weight loss.

Try replacing the Dreamsfields & tortilla & other low carb products & goodies with unprocessed food (i.e. measured portions of induction list veggies, olives, almonds, macadamas, walnuts, avocados, berries)

Best Wishes

I am

still doing pretty good doing this. I feel energetic most of the day. I'm losing weight. Another 4 lbs. 1 more and I'll be back to my siggy weight. I had a falling off in August, where I ate what I wanted. Now I've been doing this my way for a few weeks and have lost 9#... not bad for advancing the steps!
