My last first time!

Hi, everyone! Tomorrow begins my journey to a new WOE, and I feel more ready than ever before. The past few times I have endeavored to begin Atkins I felt like it was a punishment for my weight gain and - obviously - it never lasted. But this time I am taking the wisdom of friends, doctors, and other information that posits that low-carb eating is truly healthy eating. I am ready this time.

So, tomorrow begins it all. I am ready to be a support to others and hope that others will be a support to me as well. I just updated my info to the left (ughhhhhh) and can't wait to start moving the middle number down!

Good luck Alliebee!!

Keep us updated with your progress... Are you going to weight weekly or daily? Which atkins are you doing? What carb level are you sticking to? Are you exercising?

Hi Allie, welcome! You look so great in your before picture, just think how FABULOUS you're gonna look (and feel!) when you hit the ONE FOUR OH.

Don't fear the fat.

Love your title, cause I feel the same way. This is my last first time. No more starting over, this is how I'm eating for the rest of my life! I mean it. LOL I started last week and already 6 lbs down! Good start, I think.

I'm with you too, starting back again for my last first time. This time I will stay on this way of eating and if I go off and gain a pound or two I will catch it then, not 30 plus pounds later. Cheers for us doing it again!!!! Good luck to all!!

Alliebee, you've got another supporter right here! This is my first post and fifth day of this brave new WOE. I've yo-yo bounced a few times in the last decade, but never gave low-carb a second glance until a great deal of research, recent news, and a supportive partner helped me to realize that it's a pretty darn good complement to almost all of my niggling health problems (esp. PCOS and my "food mood"). I'm not thinking of it as a diet this time; I'm thinking of it as permanent change ... and that, of course, is an intimidating wall of work to do, mostly psychological.

Our numbers are similar ... let's do this thing!

(Down to 189.4 this morning after four days, so a bit over 5 pounds of water gone. Geez, how much glycogen is in there?)
