Today I weighed in at 164lbs, by the end of August I'm wanting to be in the lower 150lbs (140 something would be a dream but I'm being realistic!)

Saturday we will probably join a gym, so I think with the combo of LC and gym I can make it!

Good morning everyone!!! I'm in Maine and connectivity has been terrible, so I haven't been online much!
I've been totally on plan -- haven't weighed in three weeks, but last night I played a concert and my skinniest pants fit great! I suspect that I may have gained a few pounds just from all the EATING i've done! lobster, lobster and lobstah!

Today I may experiment with flax seed - I found a big bag of it in my kitchen.

How is everyone>>??? someone catch me up on all the news

Great job last month, everyone!

1 - 182.5

It’s 175 or bust. I probably need to go lower, but it’s been so long since I’ve been that weight that I have no idea what I’d look like, so I’ll see when I get there what to do. After this month I’ll be busy until at least November, before I can really try losing again.

My goal for the month is to lose 8lb - 2lb a week should be doable if I'm strict.!1st weigh in tomorrow, so will go from there.

I'm also aiming to stick to plan, going to be running around hospitals from Monday so it's difficult to eat clean and not snack when I have the spare few minutes.

I understand what you mean! I would love to do Induction 72, but know there's no way I would stick to it, big losses or otherwise. Without the occasional bit of tomato or peppers and regular mushrooms I can't stick to it.

I forgot to weigh before work this morning. I am hoping it is still the 192 that it was yesterday. I will go with that. I may be up a tad due to all these meds and steroids from the pneumonia, but it will all work out either way. I think 10 lbs. is a reasonable goal for this month. Any more, and it will just be extra cause for celebration.

Oh ya, I forgot tomato.

I didn't write down a goal for the month. Here's my thoughts on that: I'm such a slow loser, I think it's better to have an eating goal if it's going to be attached to a specific amount of time. So, my goal for August is to make sure I control my night eating. My teeny tiny squares of dark chocolate, of which I allow myself one (and it has about 1.7 carbs), sometimes turn into three squares in the evening.

What do you all think? Anyone else have an evening eating problem? My appetite is not significantly lowered by ketosis like some of you guys. It's not a horrible problem or anything like that, and I don't obsess, but it's nothing like I see described by some people who can eat 2 pcs of bacon for bfast, a couple of wings for lunch, and a pc of cheese for dinner, LOL.

I love chocolate - It got me in the state I'm in! I was wondering what brand you have? Obviously a future thing as my carbs need to be low low low at the moment.

I have some 100% dark chocolate, which works out to 1g carb per teeny tiny piece, but it's hard to have more than that because it's so rich. No sweetness though, which I kind of miss, even if the flavours are beautiful.

Weighed myself this morning to confirm my goal and my scales were all over the place, I got readings from 201.4lb to 197.
So I guess my goal weight is 189-192 for August?

I'm up again because we went to celebrate National Cheesecake Day. I didn't weigh yesterday but today I'm at 195.8. I think by September I'd like to see anything in the 180s again. I've been experimenting with different foods so I think that is slowing my losses down. But with everyone eating all kinds of junk around me, I have to find a way to keep myself on track. Glad to see some new faces and some from July's thread. We've got to get this group chatty again.

ohmighosh - My scale never gives me “all over the place readings.” Every time I get on, it says 182.5. And that is what it did today, over and over. I think your scale is broken.

I think its a made up holiday that the Cheesecake Factory uses to increase sales. LOL It works because there was a line outside their door that wrapped around the block. The do have some good low carb food but I had already planned on indulging in a piece of cheesecake.

DD and I were out and about early this morning. We went to a churches annual Clothing giveaway. We got Up at 4:00am and got there a little before 6:00am i'd never driven there by myself so it took us longer to get there. We stood in line for about 35-40 min the went Inside the church and then on to the clothing rooms. We seriously cleaned Up on the clothes! My daughter was So excited lol heck so was I. Got ds 2 pair of nice khaki shorts and pair of jeans too. Didn't weigh in cause up so early. We ate breakfast at Dennys I had the philly steak omelte. Not very good but the coffee sure woke me up Lol

Aug goal

I am not going to set a Aug weight loss goal....I am questioning if I am even human...I remind myself of a snail as far as weight loss goes.
Instead, I am going to commit myself to a fitness goal for Aug. I am going to log whatever exercise I do that day.
It is going to be a very busy month...still building the house and will be having the Heat/Air, Electrical, plumbing etc put in, so I will be doing a lot of shopping at L***s....hmmm, does that count as exercise?? LOL

I am going to hold off weighing in as my friend (not really) has arrived.

Lets all have a great month with whatever goals you have!!

Food taste??

Has anyone noticed that some foods just taste different? I made bacon last weekend and the weekend before...both times...tasted EXTREMELY salty.
It was to the point that I took one bite and spit it out...not sure if it was the same brand or not....

Ellen I haven't noticed bacon tasting differant but after i'd been LC for awhile I noticed that some foods did taste weird. Like stronger flavored. Course as high as Bacon is I haven't had any in awhile! Lol

@Mountain Oh no! I hope not! I bought it just over a year ago! It's an electric one that changes depending on where it's sitting on my bathroom floor (which isn't flat), so I thought it might be that?

Can't dish out for a new one anytime this month

I was eating avocados at first (I started with net carbs before switching to Atkins 72) and they started to taste disgusting to me. It was a surprise because I had loved them previously. Haven't had one in six weeks.
