Ladies and gents..... I have very sad news to report today...... It seems after many, many years as a big part of the family we had to put ol smoky to rest...... sniff...... I mean....... he was the best damn grill a guy could have asked for! Unfortunately some connections were wearing, the disperser was rotting and all hell broke out last night while two, yes i said two, succulent ribeyes were sizzling away. Flames were shooting out from under it. All the plastic caught fire, flames were roaring, hoses were melting, wife was screaming and running around in circles yelling its on fire! Its on fire! I sprung into action and um well, turned the gas off. Good ol smoky you served us well.

O yeah I made it to another body pump class tonight and I am officially spent. I cant do anything. three days rest is well deserved this week.

Hellooooo again. I'm back. Took me 2 hours AGAIN to catch up on 4 days of June and 4 of July but I have just been super busy for the past week. Flew to Philadelphia for the draft on Friday, home Sunday, drove straight up to the cottage for 2 days, and had company the entire time.

I did get down to 126, one pound short of my goal for June, but at least I didn't look like a stuffed sausage in my dress on Saturday, which was my REAL goal...lol.

Vanna, thanks for asking. My son got drafted, not to Colorado, James, but to San Jose. It was so nervewracking sitting there with my DH and DD waiting for his name to be called. He flies out to camp on Sunday. We had three very good friends go in the first round, so that was really exciting.

Welcome to all the new posters/former lurkers.

Kendra #1, I literally felt ill reading all that you had to cope with in losing your daughter and then your husband so tragically. I can't begin to imagine and will keep you in my prayers as well.

MotherGoose you look more amazing than ever. Hi to Bonny Jean (I'd be SO po'd about that landscaping company, what a bunch of morons), Kimber, DQ -- you have such an interesting life; CPG -- how'd you like that humidity on the weekend, holy hell it was hot!

To everyone else I've missed, sorry but my iPad is down to 7% and I've got to go plug it in.

July goal is to hit 123 by my birthday on the 16th. All the company we had at the lake brought potato and macaroni salads and chocolate cakes and hors d'oeuvres and, well you get the idea.... to celebrate my son's draft, so I did go off plan for a few days. Gained a few pounds back but I know a lot of it was water weight, so back on track yesterday and today, we'll see what the final damage is tomorrow morning when I weigh in.

See you tomorrow everyone

Morning All

U.S.A.

HockeyMum: Hi there. James might disagree but I'd take San Jose over Colorado any day. At least he won't freeze his tuchus off in the winter!!
I ripped up the deposit cheque the landscaper returned cause I feel he did $200 worth of work but that's it plus he's a little anal retentive so I hope it makes him crazy every month when he's doing his books and there's $200 not balancing out!

Sorry for the "yap attack" last night y'all but you're so much fun to talk to, I couldn't resist replying and answering everyone!! It's scary when you see your name and picture over and over again!

Was hoping for a 157.9 but meh, maybe tomorrow. I have to hit 158.0 before I can call it 70 lbs but at least it's only hours away. Whoo-hoo

*****************************************

July 1..... 159.4
July 2..... 158.8
July 3..... 158.4
July 4..... 158.1 Fingers crossed tomorrow is 70 lbs lost!

I'll take these 1/2 lb losses per day! Ate at 5 Guys yesterday for lunch. Loved my lettuce wrapped burger!! I was so full that I skipped dinner last night. I'm actually not hungry this morning either.

Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone has a fantastic no cheat day!

Congrats on the recent losses Bonny Jean!
Hockeymum - How exciting for your family that your son got drafted! I bet that was a surreal day!!
Have a good day at work DQ. Sorry you have to work!

Hubby and I bought a new mattress last night. Our old one was in such bad shape that I have been sleeping in our recliner for the past 2 weeks. It was so nice to be back in a bed again!! Slept ALL night long (something I've not done now for about a year!) and got up with no back pain at all! YAY!!

Happy 4th of July!

I don't know what happened this morning. I have been staying 100% on plan. Yesterday, all I had was a ham & cheddar 3 egg omelet and then my boss's grilled salmon and baby spinach. I drank 2 cups of coffee like I always do, followed by 40 oz of water throughout the day, and 1/2 a VitaminWater Zero in the evening. I was not hungry for dinner and went to bed early - was tired.

I got on the scale and it said 232.6. I got off it, then back on, it said 229.8. Off, then back on, it said 231.0. Weighed myself with the birthday dog, who is 13.5 lbs, and it went up to 240.0. Weighed myself without the birthday dog, and it said 232.4. ARGH!!

The batteries were just replaced 2 months ago. Now, it's true that one of the legs of the scale had a little bit of dog hair clinging to it (I have 3 dogs and vacuum daily, but...) But even after cleaning it off, it would not behave.

So I have NO idea how much I weigh! I sure can't believe that I gained 6 lbs in 24 hours.

7/1 - 228.6
7/2 - 229.4
7/3 - 226.2
7/4 - ???

Bonny-Jean, good on you for making the landscaper crazy for a while, he deserves it. And yes, we figured if we're going to have to pay to fly and go watch him play pro eventually, then we'd rather fly to California for a week and turn it into a vacation than somewhere like Edmonton or Minnesota -- no offence intended to anyone who lives in either one. We were kind of hoping for Florida, as it's cheap to fly there from Buffalo, which is only an hour and a half drive, but we are so thrilled that he was selected that we are counting our blessings, not complaining! He's still a couple of years away and has to make the NHL team, so for now we'll continue driving to Michigan to watch him in the winter....

Shelly, sorry, I forgot to say hi last night before my battery died. Enjoy your days away. Braces are a killer financially.

Lilac, I feel your pain with the scale. I have to buy a new one because the big giant rotary one I got from Costco years ago seems to be about 4 pounds lower than my cheapy digital one I keep at the cottage, and I don't know which one is right. I weigh consistently on the Costco one, so I can see the losses, but I'd like to know my actual weight for once.

Kimber, you are down 60 pounds, that's amazing! And I just looked at your numbers too
DQ, you've lost a lot of weight as well, congratulations.

Happy 4th of July Ellen (and everyone else celebrating today), you're doing great, almost half way to your goal, WTG!

So how long do batteries last in a mid-range digital???

HockeyMum... my mechanical scale is also 4 lbs lower. Well, God Bless the manufacturers of those!! Just kidding.

Thanks HockeyMum! And Congrats to your son! My DS is still trying to figure out where he wants to apply to college. We toured a univ last friday. Very eye opening! he's not even sure what he wants to study. He has a summer job right now doing mapping and ArcGis stuff. He likes that and maybe surveying. Who knows. Headed to the inlaws now. I made a LC strawberry cheesecake thing. Hopefully it'll go over good

I just got to thinking that if I can lose 10lbs per month, I will be calling goal this time next year!! That is simply amazing! When one has 180+ pounds to lose it can be quite overwhelming. It used to be that a year was a LONG time in my mind but I find the older I get, the quicker the years fly by! So it is not upsetting to me that in a year I will be at goal. It is exciting...almost gives me that giddy, butterflies in my stomach feeling just thinking about it!! Getting to goal used to be a dream.....now it is a certainty!!

Good Morning! Im doing a little catch-up, didnt get a chance to post yesterday. Im feeling well, no horrible induction flu this time for some reason. Yay! (Im afraid to say that, I might jinx myself)

Baddabing: Thank you, but Im probably more mentally sound then most people you know Jeez, you are active! I wish I had a hiking buddy! My problem is I hate sweating....thats a problem, right? lol

Mistermirror: Thanks for keeping me in your prayers

Bonny-Jean-No need for apologies, I would not know what to say if I were in your shoes, either, Im serious. Sometimes no words are better then wrong words Thanks for your kindness...you are doing so great! Such an inspiration to us all!

Kimber- Thank you! Enjoy your fourth of July Holiday! I am so curious about your coffee jello!

Sheri-Thank you....your advice has actually been the best advice I have been following. I can take it one day at a time, that I CAN handle

Lilac- Thank you so much! Your post was very comforting to me. I totally connected with the things you were saying, and you made me smile as well. You are right about getting control of my eating feeling like a way to control my life that has spiraled out of control...that and keeping the house clean, for some reason, it helps too. Your dogs are sweet, they told me to tell you they want to live in Ohio, cause there's a cool chic they want to take walks with and hang out with
PS. The salmon lunch, wow! What luck!

Other Kendra- We have the same name and same weight...lol Ill be here pulling for you, with a name like that, whats not to love? I agreed with everything you were saying about eating carbs making you always crave more, even when you are full....the only thing that stops this with me is no carbs as well. I can really relate! Thanks for sharing, look forward to being a "loser" with you

Neener: ty! Hugs back! So awesome youre having more energy! Congrats on being down 7lbs!

DQ: Had an entire paragraph typed out, and my son erased it! grrrrr....I was just agreeing with you about having to keep my treats in moderation like you with the wine if I want a loss

Mountain: No need to apologize! I didnt realize you were referring to the courage to start all over on LC, thank you, it is kind of humbling to admit defeat and return. But these forums helped me so much in the past by holding me accountable, I just had to Thank you for your kind words!

July Goal: 197

7-1: 204.8
7-2: 201.6
7-3: 201.2
7-4: 200.2

Sorry, been too busy to post menus

OMG, it's so funny you mentioned that!! Tell me, is there anything worse than a sweaty HEAD???? I think not. I don't mind if my body is covered in sweat but my head, oh I just can't stand it! The only thing I can think of to get exercise and avoid that is to go swimming. Good gentle workout and NO SWEAT!!

Happy Fourth!

Baddabing - ol’ smoky made my day. I hope not too many people cry at the funeral.

1 - 188.5
2 - 188.0
3 - 188.0
4 - 188.5

Yes I cheated yesterday, can you tell? Ate too many carbs, anyway.

Tonight it’s a party with friends; they cook the very best grilled chicken and salmon you will ever have. So keeping on track will be easy.

Wow Kimber - how exciting!! The end is in sight.

Kendra - that is so sweet of you to say. We are here for you!

Lilac - I have heard stuff about Vitaminwater, don't know if that could be the culprit.

Down another pound today - so exciting! 4 total lbs on induction now -Day 10.

OMG I HATE HATE HATE to sweat!! I always thought I was some freak of nature so THANK YOU for validating me!!

I can't imagine 10 oz of zero calorie VitaminWater would make me gain 6 lbs in one day. I have to chalk it up to a wonky scale and will probably go need to get another one. Well, THAT'S depressing. Who knows HOW much I weigh now!!

Hi Everyone! Happy Fourth to all our American Friends and Happy Friday to everyone else!

Let's all enjoy our holiday, but remember that we can do it without going off plan. Are you really going to enjoy it more if you eat crap? In the long run, you're going to be much happier if you stay on plan and enjoy your day without indulging in the stuff that you really don't need.

Kizz/Kendra - I am glad I could make you smile. Don't let the dogs fool you though, Maynard (the one not yawning) is absolutely evil. We believe God HAD to make him cute so that all his mischief could be tolerated. He chews shoes, eats books, lays right on top of my newly planted plants. He will bring his empty food bowl to you whatever room you happen to be in and drop it right on your feet. He can un-strip a newly made bed in less than 5 minutes. EVIL, I tell you!! So... you can HAVE him as far as I'm concerned. The birthday girl, however... that's a different story. I will NEVER let her go!! And she is a perfect baby angel, too - NEVER misbehaves!
