When I'm feeling low energy and just blah it is usually an indication that I'm needing some salt in my diet. I try to remember to salt everything I eat and I also like to have 10 green olives. The salt and some water and usually I'm feeling energetic and back to my happy self again!

I would LOVE to be hovering around 200 lbs!! So funny how that number sounds amazing to me right now because I'm 65 lbs above that number! Wonder if my attitude about it will change once I'm down that far?! I'll be sure to let you know when I get there!!

Thanks Kimber! I have recently read how important keeping your salt intake is. Previously, on low carb, I always assumed I was getting plenty. My intake is pretty high. I just didn't consider that I was losing a lot due to the diuretic effect low carb has.

BulldogM0m & Leanne21071: my DW mentioned the other day that the love handles seem to be vanishing. Still have narrowed down which workout I like the best. Kettlebells really jack the heart rate up & work the core, and the New Rules of Lifting have so many editions that it's hard to pick the right one. Thankfully the pool is always a treat.

Don't know about the rest of you but it was overcast last night so missed the 'super moon'. On a positive note, made it out with my buddies & didn't feed too many mosquitoes
Oh yes, made it to the store for those $1.77 eggs: bought 4 dozen

Morning all. I'm here, checking in, have stayed on plan and not gained anything, still shooting for 125 for Wednesday.

I take Vit C every day anyway, the kids and I have for years as it seems to keep the cold and flu bugs away from us, so I don't worry about scurvy either..lol.

DH flew back from San Jose last night, have him and his 5"10 Olympic hurdler (really) beanpole of a girlfriend here for the day. Have to cook bacon and eggs for breakfast, they're both very health conscious. When hubby offered take out Chinese last night on the way home from the airport, DS looked at him and just said, "you're kidding, right?". Apparently a good part of Rookie Camp was spent on food and nutrition. DH was so disappointed hahah. I cooked flank steak and made a nice balsamic/feta cheese/salad with walnuts and cranberries. They had baked stuffed potatoes, and I did have a bite of one, made no difference on the scale this morning....

Have a great day everyone, reading everyone's commitment to this WOE keeps me going, so thank you all.

EJW - I am no expert, but the first thing that comes to mind is....um...how's the internal plumbing? I, personally, have to take probiotics and magnesium to keep things moving. Also, water, water, water. Your food intake looked good, but in my world it usually takes a couple of days for what I ate to catch up to me. You might consider what you ate over the past few days. For me, some "allowed" food cause me to stall. The only nuts I can eat are macadamia and occasionally almonds. Cream cheese can stall me. Too much mayo can stall me. Just food for thought...

HockeyMom - Wow. Must have been nice to not be outnumbered in the house for once as far as health conscious eating. My husband has been a truck driver for over a decade. Now, he hauls crude oil and is home every night. When we were young we both looked like normal young people. Now, he looks like a truck driver, and I look like I have sat at a desk 10 hours a day for 15 years...which I have. I am doing my best to battle the bulge. He is proud of me, but won't even consider it. Last night he ate a dozen taquitos. The night before that, a frozen pizza...

Ellen - 2 pound fluctuations are normal. Just keep tracking your numbers everyday and then you have them to look back on the next time you have a 2 pound bump up. I do that EVERY month and then stay there almost a week and then I have a really good drop. If you are eating right then you know it is just water weight, or the food weight you ate yesterday, or the waste that has not left your body yet. No biggie...just keep on program that the weight will drop.

Hockeymom - I got really confused about your hubby bringing his GF home but then you make reference to your son so I am going to assume that you meant your DS girlfriend?!

Plumbing is actually ok...lol I have cut out cheese several days ago...no nuts...pork rinds for a snack...I really eat the same every day.
B-deviled eggs-usually 3
L- either left over meat/chicken or tuna salad
D- what ever meat/chicken or fish and salad greens...

I haven't really lost anything...maybe close to "0" carbs is too low for me??
I really just don't get my body...it is just fighting me and I love this WOE...I am never hungry and don't obsess about food anymore.
Back in 2010 I was doing low carb but still had my veggies and a bit of fruit and got to my lowest weight...was walking 5 miles a day (need to do that again)
Sorry for the vent!

EJW - Are you at a weight you maintained for a long period? I have noticed that sometimes my body is comfortable at a previous "set" weight. Takes longer to break away from that number.

Your food looks really good. You are right though. Sometimes that exercise makes all the difference.

If you haven't already, the only other thing I would suggest is possibly getting your thyroid checked. The only reason I say that is because I am Hypothyroid. I know how those hormones being off balance can derail things.

Odds are, it is one of those dreaded plateaus that we all despise so much. Maybe put the scales away for a week, and avoid torturing yourself. You know you are eating on plan. If you want to shake it up and add a little veggies, then give it a try. I wouldn't do anything drastic. Just remind yourself that this too shall pass.

Keep it going!
Just choose one...doesn't matter....you can change it later when it gets "boring"
When I 'graduated' 5#...the addition of gloves made the world of difference...I was losing grip from all the sweat the gloves made the grip easier...also now easier to concentrate on the technique! I use the cheap garden gloves with the sticky palms...$3.(retired income!)

I did WW from 11/13-4/14 and lost 20 pounds....didn't lose anything after that so I started Atkins in May..i have been down a couple but then up a couple..I feel lighter but the scale is evil and doesn't show it..
I am going to stick with it because I like the food and I feel good. I will continue and up the walking...hopefully that will help...going to either do the salad or a green vegg with dinner and see how that goes.

Have a double challenge today...going to the movies with hubby and son...just going to have a diet pepsi. Then we are going out for dinner...not sure where but going to go somewhere that has steak and maybe a Caesar salad

Todays menu-
B- 3 eggs scrambled, 1 slice bacon
L- 2 chicken drumsticks
D- Ribeye and Caesar salad

EWJ - The movies are tough. Smelling that popcorn is brutal. I usually buy one of the giant pickles. Then I don't feel like I was totally deprived. Or, I take some macadamia nuts. Sounds like you have a good plan for dinner. If all else fails, order a loaded hamburger and remove the bun. Steak is always a winner though.

It sounds like you have a fun filled day with your family planned. Enjoy it!

Kimber, yes, it's my son's girlfriend (I'm sure my DH wishes it was his She represents Canada in hurdles for her age group and is just SO tall and SO slim, but I know she's very health conscious and trains daily, as well as not eating sugar, so she and I have that in common. You are doing great by the way!

CPG, when the love handles start to disappear, you know you're making progress, whether the scale shows it or not. Good for you!

Ellen I did WW years ago and got down to 118, my goal from them, but I really was hungry all the time. I've done it a few times on and off, as I only ever have 10 to 15 pounds to lose (I tend to stop myself once I hit that 135 mark and smarten up) but I was always looking for one point foods.... I know they've changed the program somewhat a few times, but I so much prefer this WOE, and although I don't always stick to induction I am always very aware of carb counts in things. Maybe you aren't eating enough? I remember MGoose pointing that out to someone else a month or 2 ago. I find it's mental, when I do eat a lot of food (but 0-10 carbs) I feel like I'm cheating, but then the scale moves and it's like, "Hurray!", this really DOES work! Our bodies do work in different ways but there seems to be some consistency to the plateauing for everyone, and then seeing a shift by sticking to plan.

Hi Shelly, don't you get mad at yourself when you already know the outcome before you eat it, but you eat it anyway? I certainly do!

I could not believe it when I got on the scale this morning! I even weighed myself again to make sure I was reading correctly. 197.0!? I reached GOAL!!! I guess eating strictly meat and eggs is paying off! Just like Bonnie and Mother Goose were talking about with the Atkins 72....it really speeds things up! I didn't lose this quickly last year, so I am very excited!!!!! I have been peeing like crazy and gross metallic taste in my mouth, keto sticks. Say very mild but my dr told me the dark purple only means you're super dehydrated, so a mild reading is just as good.

Today's menu:

B: three eggs fried in coconut oil, three slices Canadian bacon

S: chicken broth

L: two fried chicken legs

D: can of tuna

July Goal: 197

7-1: 204.8
7-2: 201.6
7-3: 201.2
7-4: 200.2
7-5: 200.6
7-6: 199.0
7-7: 200.2
7-8: 200.4
7-9: 200.8
7-10:200.6
7-11:199.2
7-12:199.4
7-13:197.0!!!!!Goal!!!!!!

Congrats on making your July goal Kizz!! It is always so awesome when we make/exceed our own goals! I've still got 5 more to go for my own goal but I am hoping to exceed that as well! Time will tell and regardless of what the scale says, I know that I am doing what I need to do and I just have to wait for my body to try to catch up with me! KUTGW

Kizz - Yay for hitting your July goal in less than two weeks in!!!!! I really hope you are doing that goofy happy dance that makes you pray no one is looking in your windows. On second though, my blinds are closed. I'll do a dance for ya!

Come to think of it, I only have two more pounds to go before I reach my July goal. Ladies, we are really kicking some serious butt this month. Hi five to everyone!

Thanks for the kiddos. I would probably be melting the fat off if it weren't for weekend happy hours with my DW. Sacrifices one must make

Galveston Gal: funny, I went to the gym today as my DW was enjoying a Zumba class. I did about 10' on a cardio machine & decided to stop & try a warm up I read about: goblet squats, halos & hip bridges. Then (of course) I ended up doing about 20' of swings before heading to the pool.
I had my HR monitor on & it was peaking about 145-148 after each interval!
Way higher than what I was getting on the machine. You never tried Tracy R's sock gloves?

PrincessMommy: you gotta live; don't bang yourself up about enjoying vacation. The fat will melt off

sorry for the double post...I also post on the Atkins 72 thread!!

We just got back from the movies...all I had was a big diet pepsi and no problems at all...funny, one of the last times we went to the movies, months ago...I had a movie popcorn...it feels weird in your mouth...like your mouth is coated with something..not appealing...after that I would air pop and sneak it in. Not now...this time I had a few pork rinds before we left to get the snack out of the way.
If anyone has not seen the Planet of the Apes movie that is out now...It was great!! Give it 5 stars...and the diet P was 5 stars...
we were going to go out for dinner but since it was a late afternoon movie and my son was going to have popcorn...didn't want to waste money on a dinner that he probably wouldn't eat....plus not really trusting restaurants after the steak post...which is what I would have gotten...so we are having steaks at home!! Yumm

CPG-No BBQ sauce that is mentioned whatsoever. I'm calling them today to get the full lo-down. It's driving me (and others) crazy to try to figure out what is done to the their steaks that could possibly give them that many carbs. I will post when I find out.

You guys mind if I limp back in here with my tail between my legs. I spent last week in the hospital with super high BP 220/136 and chest pain. I have some blockage and a new doctor called a Cardiologist I get to see every month....FUN!!!! I am back at 274 pounds which is just to much. Glad to see some old faces and look forward to meeting some new folks. I also look forward to some nice steady losses. I can no longer Yo Yo so doing a little different this time. Look forward to catching up with every one soon.

Hi Kemp! It's good to see you back, I'm sorry you're having high BP and chest pain...that is scary. Welcome back! I returned with my til between my legs recently as well having gained everything back after a series of tragedies in my family. We're here to support you, and I remember looking forward to reading your posts because you always made me laugh
I'm pulling for ya, buddy!

(Is this what is called a whoosh?) > I couldn't wait til tonight to share my big news...I weighed in at my normal 10:00am time this morning expecting to see a one lb gain (I fried up a huge batch of chicken legs and snacked on them the entire day!) but I could not believe my eyes when it read 195.6!!!
I honestly do not know what's going on this time around. It took me four months to lose this twelve I've lost since starting late June. The only thing I can figure is that I'm staying in deep ketosis by taking mother goose and Bonnie jeans advice and going strictly Atkins 72. Since I started cutting lc treats (cheese, nuts, sugar free candies, veggies, even mayo) I only eat meat and eggs, period. Holy crapp!!! It's working! And working fast! This is going the way it did when I was 28 and lost 40 lbs in a few months! I'm losing inches and my clothes are loose...I'm so sorry if I sound like I'm bragging, but plz understand, last year I did this for 8 months and each and every single pound was like pulling teeth and took an average of ten days to pop off. So I am just beyond excited about this happening! I would read the boards every day and see this happen to many other people, I would watch their menus and try to emulate their habits to get those losses. I'm positive that very strict Adkins 72 is the answer. I don't mind eating eggs every morning and frying up chicken wings to eat on....my cravings have gone anyway!
Happy happy dance!!!!
(Do it with me Kd did)
