Kizz, the cleaner you can keep it the better. Meat, eggs, cheese and fats and you'll be in deep ketosis and the cravings will go away, or at least be manageable. Spend as much time as you can on here just reading and posting and it really helps to keep your head in the right place food wise. It helped me a lot in the beginning. I'm not sure I would have stuck to it if not for these boards.
You are right, of course. I thought I could do it keeping it very low carb like before, but it just led to cravings and binges for me. I love being in ketosis because I don't feel like eating anything and that in itself is just awesome. Also, it really Speeds up the weight loss. I agree, these boards help keep me in line. I don't want to blow it knowing ill have to come on here and face the music

I think if I just threw out the tv, I would be skinny.
Thnks for all your support

Breakfast: three fried eggs

Snack: hard boiled egg

Lunch: two split chicken breasts, skin on

Dinner: two grilled burgers, mustard only

Kd did, Congrats on making it to onederland! I have pcos as well and it sure does make things frustrating sometimes.

James, I hope you're having fun on your hike!

Shelly, Glad you had a good time on vacation. Don't feel too bad about the doughnuts. What's done is done and your getting back on track now.

Great losses everyone! I'm down 0.4 lbs. I'm torn between ignoring the scale and daily weighing. Both have its pros and cons.

I just posted this in our Atkins 72 thread, but I wanted to share it here too. So, I'm sorry if you're reading this twice ~~

I wanted to share some words of wisdom that my daughter recently gave to my niece. My niece just started a new eating plan and had a big dinner to attend and was very worried about all the food temptations. My daughter told her...... Focus on the event, not on the food. Sure enough my niece spent the evening enjoy a great time with friends and realized she didn't need food to have a great time. Oftentimes we use social situations as an excuse to go off plan, and there's no reason to. Focus on the event, not the food.

Hello everyone! I can't believe how great everyone's losses are on this woe.
I'm back from visiting my mom, I did cheat which blows my goal for the month, but tomorrow's another day!
Funny story: My mom is freaking out at my woe. She says this leads to scurvy! Which is worse, scurvy or over weight? I think I'll take my chances!!!

Words of wisdom indeed. We've all been trained to focus on the food. I come from a family of big eaters. I remember we would be going out to eat at a buffet with my uncle and if I was caught eating during the day, I'd be ridiculed that I wouldn't have room for supper. Then later my uncle would have an eating contest as to how many plates we can each put back to "get our money's worth". On my vacation last week I did have supper with my uncle( not at a buffet) and we sent him home with all of the breaded food we wouldn't eat (steaks came with 6 beautiful breaded shrimp x4!). Then I was teasing him that going for supper with us is like how Jesus fed thousands with 5 loaves and two fish, and had leftovers to boot!!! Instead of focusing on that food we did look at it as an opportunity to spend time with family. I'm going to keep putting that into practice now that BBQ season is upon us which means company!

My mom too has many health problems. I wish she would follow a plan but she likes her sweets as much as she liked to drone on about the veggies I wasn't eating. My son told her I would only have to start eating veggies if I got scurvy! Then I pointed out to her, hey at least we know the cure!

Your mom sounds amazing! With a cheering section like that you're sure to have success. Not many people can do what she's done and the good thing is she's as healthy as she can be in her situation. By the way great losses!

Wow, you ladies are all shrinking. I'm going to need glasses pretty soon to keep an eye on you all
Not much to report, weight doesn't seem to be moving for me. Think it might be the kettlebells & weight room. I should of measured before starting this WOE but I don't really care as long as the composition is changing.
On a positive note, eggs are on sale tomorrow for $1.77 a dozen. Guess who's loading up?
Bmac13: great that someone noticed & said something to you. Happy belated anniversary btw; did you end up eating steak?
Have a good evening folks...

I got up with a UTI and had to go to the doctors and finally got home to get some sleep. I made it to work and left after 4 hours. Today I feel much better. Of course I only had breakfast yesterday and a ton of water but it looks great on the scale!

Kimber awesome losses, you go girl!

Kizz look out goal here you come!

Shrinking supporters are so important. On a great note if we don't find them at home we can sure find them here. My mom lives in Maine while I live in Florida, my goal is to hit goal by December 15th when they arrive for the winter. I have an outfit picked out that I want to fit in when they get here.

Bulldogmom happy to see you back

Mountain you are doing well yourself, I love to see the progress.

Paleo stalling while weight lifting is common but be assured you are doing great!

MthGs you are the incredible shrinking woman!

Hello and welcome to everyone. Have a great day!

Today I'm 202.8 woohoo!!! So close to onederland now!

CPG- yes, I had steak. Surf and turf actually. It wasn't that great though. Went to Baton Rouge. I would have preferred the Keg, but there are 4-12 carbs in each steak!!

Cruising right along. This WOE is sooo much easier for me on my days off. A lot of people claim the opposite. For me, when I am on days off, I just don't eat until I am ready. Yesterday, that was about 3pm. Don't get me wrong. That almost never happens. I have plenty of "I will chew my own arm off if I have to" kind of days. However, my work pace is very fast paced with only one employee per shift. We also work 10 hour shift. This means, when you get a chance to eat your breakfast/lunch/etc. you better take it. You may not get another chance. And let's face it, NO ONE wants to see me get hangry.

OMG. I just remembered, I had a dream last night that I ate a Snickers bar...and was making sure that no one saw me. Ha! I always have the dreams during this WOE. Even funnier, I always feel/act guilty in the dream. Glad it was just a dream. Glad I also have vivid dreams. It was yummy. lol

Kizz - Welcome back to Onederland!!! I didn't realize how close to goal you were. I am only 5'05", so I have quite a bit farther to go.

Kd- your posts always make smile. I too, have "cheat dreams" but strangely enough mine are about smoking a cigarette even though I haven't had one in 17 yrs and have no desire either. If I were to have a food cheat dream, I want to be eating a hot doughy pizza, the kind with the air bubbles in the giant bready crust

I feel like I'm kind of hovering around 200....I can't wait to get far away from it. You're doing great and moving right along! I am almost 5'10 so I can hold a little more weight on myself, if I go below 175-ish I look gaunt. You'll get to your goal, before you know it! Mine seems like a million miles away as each lb teases around for a week of back and forth back and forth. I've noticed this is common.

Sorry if I don't address everyone individually. I do read everyone's posts and appreciate the encouragement. I'm pulling for everyone of you

Just a quick update. July has been a decent month for losses, down 5 pounds so far, from 188 to 183. I have officially lost 30 pounds since starting a low carb diet at the end of April. I have stayed at induction the entire time. I don't post often, but I read this forum every day to keep on track. Always encouraged by reading your posts!

Kizz - I understand. I always enjoy the first few weeks. After I drop from "morbidly obese" to just plain "obese", the weight loss slows significantly. When I reach the not so horrific "overweight" point, the scales slow to a crawl. I figure I better keep my motivation amped up now to prepare myself for the inevitable stalls.

I will honestly admit that once I get close to my goal, I usually stop this WOE. Not because the weight loss slows, but because my body seems to rebel against low carb after 3 months. Instead of being one of those people that says, "my skin looks fabulous! I have soooo much energy! I have never felt so healthy!", my body says, "Where did these HUGE dark circles under my eyes come from? Why can't I make myself get out of bed? Why am I so pale?!" If anyone has any advice on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Each time, I throw in new vitamins or supplements, but I have yet to make it beyond 3 months without people asking me if I am sick. It's not just the look like I might not be feeling well look either. Not to make light of cancer, but it is more literally like a chemo patient appearance. I am so envious of those that lose half their body weight and look radiant!

Well, then, I'm glad I brought it up. Nice to not be alone in this struggle, but hopefully some of the people that have stuck with this WOE long term can give us a little insight. I realize that not everyone is the same. I'm sure some people genuinely feel fabulous eating this way. I just wish I was one of them! I truly love this lifestyle because it is the only way to turn off the hunger monster in my head. That, and I still get to eat food that taste good! I tried Weight Watchers once. You wanna talk about HANGRY... No one could stand to be around me. All those carbs, and I never once felt full.

P.S. I forever fail to address most people individually. My short term memory is TERRIBLE since my thyroid crashed. I always mean to, but by the time I get to typing my post...gone! Just wanted to say that everyone's progress is amazing! Even those that are struggling are a motivation. The scale is bound to move up and down a tad, but seeing your persistence pay off reminds me that it is worth it. I also appreciate the insight that those who are more experienced can offer. Thanks to you all!
