Can't believe I beat Tiggy & Sandy1 to this. Nice & sunny here today. Have a paleo meet & greet planned for tonight. Hopefully home in time for GofT
Tried a different workout protocol last night: 15-8-4 no rest. Even my DW liked it
Have a great day folks

Morning All

Thanks for getting us going for June, CPG!! Great pic of your furkid!!

Where are you Sandy, Shelly ????

Well, yesterday mowed, trimmed, weeded and after the yard work was done we went and had a game of mini-golf which never fails to be hysterical. Then I lapped her at least once with the go-karts.. ha!!! Was supposed to hit the indoor trampoline place but just realized it's Sunday so maybe not today. Maybe we'll go see the Polar Bears today instead.

Up 2 lbs so far this holiday and not sure if it's the restaurant breakfasts or the fact I ate beyond full last night. Bought and cut up a pork roast thinking I was saving money but turns out you can't pan fry roast like a pork steak. It was so awful I sadly made some bearnaise sauce to choke it down and I definitely over indulged in the sauce!! Then, although full, made some sf jello and hwc for us while watching a movie! My own fault of course, so hoping things will change soon.

Happy June!

May 31 - 284.7
June 1 - 282.6

I should stay in bed doped up on pain meds more often! The weight is just falling off me right now! I reweighed myself 4 times this morning just to make sure that number was correct!! My goal for this month is 270.

My neck is feeling much better. I may even venture out of the house today to do some grocery shopping.

Here's to great losses (or maintenance) for everybody this month!!

I think I am pms. I do not have most of those parts anymore but between lack of sleep, working out, overeating and moodiness I hope that is the cause of the weight gain.
The first week of June is going to be busy but I will try to check in regularly and cheer us all on.
I hope after a good night's sleep I'll be back to 156

Okay, I'm back. I'm in. ::::waves a sheepish hello to everyone I've missed for the last few months:::: As some of you may remember, I had gone to see my uncle with pancreatic cancer in Virginia in late February/early March. He passed away April 3. And then my cousin passed very unexpectedly 3 days later. Both were 51 years old. It's been a rough few months, but I've kept my weight from spiking too much. I got up to about 151 (fell a bit off the LC wagon, but kept the calories under 1,500 so the gains weren't too bad). I've been consistently back on LC for the last few weeks. I read through the entire May Challenge to see what everyone's been up to.

I'm only 10.4 pounds from my goal weight. And .6 pounds to being 50 pounds down from my highest weight.

June weight goal: 140. And to remain consistent with my walking (I've walked almost every day for the last 3 weeks)

June 1: 145.4

Greetings all. I've been lurking for awhile but thought if give a month challenge a go. I lost over 100 lbs in 1999/2000 using the Zone diet. Kept it all off until I lost my mind and decided running a half, then full marathon was a good idea. That was oct. 2012-may 2013. Heard of paleo and decided to dabble in that. Long story short, I put on 30 pounds during that time and have been trying like hell to take it off. My body just did not like the constant training. Also I think it emboldened me to eat way more carbs than I should ever eat. Sweet potatoes, gel packs, plantains, etc. are never going to be my friend.
Anyway, my highest weight during this debacle was 193. Not huge for 6' but not where I'm comfortable. I've been dieting down and am starting June at 179.
You all seem incredibly nice so this should be fun!
Tomorrow is my daughter's 9th birthday so looking forward to that. Have a great one everybody.

Okay, I'm back too! May…my sister and family were here for the first week…ate too many baby carrots/tomatoes/celery while she was here and then one day splurge of a DQ Peanut Buster Parfait (we always have one when we are together). When she left I quickly went back to just meat, eggs and cheese and managed to loose the 3 pounds I gained and 3 more.

This month my goal is to loose 10 pounds. I don't think I've ever lost 10 pounds in month but I think if I stay true to the '72 plan I can do it. We leave to visit family the 27th. Hopefully I can get there before then.

Gosh I am late today...due to an abscess on my gum....really painful so overslept as was awake most of the night, did not weigh but am guessing 150 probably same as yesterday....my goal for this month is to keep my weight between 143 and 148.

Its lovely to see you again Michelle, (Gypsy) did I get your name right, sounds like you have had a rough time of it, its really great you are back though.

Welcome Fatfreddy, and waving at Calimom, glad you are back...

Hi to everyone else....can't ramble as my mouth hurts and I need to go and take my mind off it......

Sandy & Bonny, you two never fail to crack me up. It is nice to be back. It's a beautiful day here and we're going for a walk in a little while (after DH gets back from dropping DS at his GF's house).

One of my cousin's is getting married in a very la-di-dah wedding in NYC (where he and his bride to be live) in 13 days. Super excited to see family from all over the country. I have 2 beautiful dresses that I got (on eBay, of course) for the rehearsal dinner and for the wedding itself. I am being very vigilant to make sure the dresses fit!!! I am actually getting worried that I might be getting a tad too small for the rehearsal dinner dress. I bought my first pair of high heels in close to 30 years! Rehearsal dinner dress got a "WOW!" from my husband when I put it on to show him (best $2.99 I've ever spent)!

And belated kudos to MtherGoose for making goal weight! Incredible! You look wonderful!

Kimber, you mentioned in the May Challenge thread that you were originally from Upstate NY, do you mind sharing where (it's where I'm from and where I currently live-but not for long).

OK now that I have the new lifestyle kinda figured out I will make some goals for this month. The only obstacle I see is Fathers Day and I am supposed to be in charge of what goes down that day I believe so it should be a good month. My goals are as follows.
1. Weigh in every Saturday
2. Weight 165 or less
3. Complete my weight training every week (2 days)
4. Do one day of cardio minimum a week
5. Complete a six day stretch including that core workout class I have been wanting to try out but have not gotten to yet.
6. If I feel like cheating, eat more of the acceptable foods not something I know better not to eat.
7. Get new tires on my motorcycle and find a way to actually ride it some this year.

Today’s plan! Lie in the sun, mess with the kids, get some food for the week predone.

Yesterday a storm rolled in so what little time we spent outside was kinda cold. Then we finished off in the indoor pool which I don’t really care for because it crazy loud with all those kids screaming. We will be using the day care for about 2 hours so we can go over to the adult side of the pool complex and relax.

I am getting looks so I guess I should get off the computer. TTFN
GyspySixpence – Sorry for your lose. It weird to hear people dyeing so young. That’s like 10 years from now for me. Seems young to me.

Fatfreddy – Did you finish the full marathon? Speaking of bucket lists, that one is on it if I ever get my life situated to do one.

Sandy1 – get that taken care of. Mouth pain tis the worst.

Bada, I finished the full, but it sucked after mile 15-16. It was in Fargo, ND in May so I thought weather would be cool. I trained all winter/spring in 20-50 degree temps and loved it. Alas, it was 70's-80's and very humid when I did it.
It sounded like a good bucket list goal for me but I grew to hate running. If it's a goal for you then more power to you.

I did the same with a pork roast. It was huge so I saved a lot of money, right? Well, I baked it and it was so lean, I couldn't hardly eat it. Thank goodness I had cut it in half and froze the other part. Problem is it keeps staring at me every time I open the freezer...I think boiling might help. Sure can't glaze it after that, now.

Good day all!
I'm not actually joining the challenge. I am however learning from all of you successful people on this page! I'm currently doing a round of hhcg but am completely planning to continue with Induction once my round is done. I like what induction has done for so many, if only I could have the same results. I do love when everyone posts their menus as it gives me an idea of what I should be eating. I read the book a couple years ago and passed it on to a friend, never to see it again. I may break down and buy another.
My ultimate goal is to be a size 10 or medium, whatever weight that takes me to. I was there last summer with hhcg but as soon as the round ends I just can't stabilize. I need a better plan! So here goes! I'll be done my round in 1 or 2 weeks. Officially I can be done in one week but I get so addicted to the thinner feeling that I don't want to quit! I have an event at the end of June so I must be done by then and heading on to real food. So at some point this month I'll be part of the action here!

Kimber, I am from Ithaca (and live a few miles south of there now). We're hopefully going to be on our way to Florida at the end of the month. I will miss my sister, my mom, and our friends here, but we have tons of family down there. I will never miss shoveling snow! It is a beautiful part of the planet, but it's covered in snow too much of the year!

I hear you, Badda. Far too young. I've had a lot of loss the last couple of years (on both sides of the family-and in my husband's family too). I'll be 45 in August and 51 is just too young to go. All of the loss (which is still happening at an alarming rate-and it's not the 80+ year-olds, it's those that are far younger). When I started LC almost 2 years ago, part of the impetus was that my dad had just died a few months before (he was only 68). Getting my health together was a huge factor for me. Much more than vanity-not that that isn't part of it!! I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. And fat.

Bonny do not worry about messing up my name...you got the first 2 letters right!!!

Michelle -- I am familiar with that area. My husband was stationed at Griffiss AFB in Rome for 6 years back in the 1990's. We actually were one of the last people to leave that base.

Kimber, you're thinking of Utica! That's okay, Ithaca's fairly small. About an hour south of where you're from! It's where Cornell University is. At the southern end of Cayuga Lake.

DQ, Portia, FF, Calimon , baddabing - cheering you on for a great month!

Sandy - how's that abscess? those can be so painful!!

Sheila - Yep, I'm stuck here in Alabama. I'd love to be back up in the NE somewhere...we have a beach house in York Beach, ME that we try to get to at least once a year. If we lived closer, we'd get to go more often!!

Michelle - where did you say you were moving?

Hope that's everybody! Have a good day

Good morning everyone! Here's to a great June. My goal for June is going to be 194.anything because I have a planned 5 days off plan (vacation where I'm not going to be vigilant) with a new induction phase immediately following.

So, here we go!

June 1 - 197.8
June 2 - 197.6

Leaving on the 10th for vacation, fully intend to throw caution to the wind and enjoy myself in all aspects. It's a decision I'm making and I'm very okay with it, it may be the thing I need to jumpstart myself again. I return on the 15th at which time I will restart induction.

Happy Monday everyone!

June

Good morning, since May 17, I have lost 5 lbs I have stayed on plan 99.9 % of the time the slip ups have come in terms of being out, but all in all its getting easier and I will learn to deal with the situations.

I'm not sure what my actual total weight loss is since I was doing low carb prior to commiting to Atkins 72.

I can get obssesive about the scale so I thought i wouls weight myself the 1st of the month, but know I'm rethinking it maybe the 15 and the first.

I'm going to the grocery store today what should I have in my cart?
Thanks for all your insights nd support. You guys are tremendous

Morning All

Where is everybody????

Kimber:Nice drops there!! Good for you! Yesterday we went to the Zoo hoping to see the new Churchill and Polar Bear exhibits but the new rebuild isn't done yet... to the tune of 200 million dollars!!! Supposed to be a giant aquarium thing where you can walk thru a tunnel and see the bears swimming and such. Oh well, we'll check it out next year! Thanks for asking!

Candy: You're a brave girl to be able to throw all your hard work out the window for a few days. I can understand a mouthful of something off plan, as I've done the same thing myself but felt awful for it and of course got slapped by the scale for it! If you can handle that outcome then I guess it's fine for you. It's just a shame considering all the hard work you've done and continue to do but I will cross my fingers for you that nothing to irreversible happens and you have the best
holiday ever! Sorry for preaching!

QUESTION: How long do vitamins take to kick in????? I dropped the potassium and doubled up on the magnesium and no night cramps the last 4 evenings? I think it's just my imagination but it's good not to be suffering from them.
Well, as mentioned to Kimber, hit the zoo yesterday and probably walked at least 5 miles and how nice this year not to have to stop every 15 mins due to a sore back. Gotta love Atkins, eh!! Looks like we won't be hitting the trampoline place as they're closed on Mondays.... geez!!!
Rain this morning so might catch up on housework a little and get some laundry done. I was thinking about going rollerblading or rollerskating!! Hope I don't fall on my butt as I've really lost my "cushion" factor!! Can't consider bungee jumping as I would be sick before I ever left the platform... ...I got height issues.
