Morning All

Wishing you all a happy scale day!

Nothing new or exciting here. Saturday "funk" has returned, I guess. Due to leg cramps and no sleep, had several naps yesterday. Managed to get all the yard work done so just housework today. Looks like rain.
OMG, I gotta get a life!

June weight goal: 140. And to remain consistent with my walking (I've walked almost every day for the last 3 weeks).

June 1: 145.4 (walk/arm weights)
June 2: 144.8!!!!!!!!! (walk)
June 3: 145 TOM (a bit of stroll lakeside with DH, but not a real walk like we usually do).
June 4: 145 TOM (walk/arm weights)
June 5: 145 TOM (did a ton of physical work at my mom's to replace walk)
June 6: 145 TOM (walk/arm weights)
June 7: 144.8 (walk/arm weights)
June 8: 144.6

Lots of fun stuff today...like scrubbing the bathroom! Woooooooooooo! I know how to live, people! I'll try and get in a walk later this afternoon. Another beautiful day with warm temps and sunny skies.

Does anyone have that one family member you want to ship off somewhere? So my elderly aunt is at it again. I spent the day with my friend the model/actress. We took my girls and her Goddaughter to a carnival. The girls were excited about having a taste of fried Oreos....one portion split among 5 people not so bad. But my aunt commented that I should probably find friends that eat like me since my friend is skinny and eats healthy. What my aunt said was hurtful but dh made me laugh about it later. My friend loves food and will try anything. She also knows how I eat and doesn't have anything negative to say. I'm hoping my aunt wasn't implying that I'm not good enough to be this woman's friend. Either way, we had fun yesterday.

Everyone is doing wonderful! I'm not weighing yet since I wasn't all that good for the past few days.

Bonny and Sandy, I hope you two feel better soon!

Michelle, You're doing awesome with the workouts! I need to get back on a schedule again.

DairyQueen, I would be a walking zombie with your schedule! I hope you get some rest soon!

Mthergoos: Thank you but truth be told I hit 163.8 on May 30th so in all honesty, that's only a true pound for this week but again, thanks!

BulldogMom: I have/had about 4 family members like that but kissed them off about 10 yrs ago so I don't have to suffer their ignorance any longer.
Your aunty probably thinks your friend eats nothing
but salads and cardboard.

BullDogMom, I'm with Bonny, I decided years ago that I don't need the drama and BS in my life. I have no problem cutting anyone out of my life that consistently causes it. I don't need it in my life, and neither do you.

Thanks Bonny-Jean and MtherGoos. Most of the time my aunt is fine but every now and then she really gets a dig in. My kids love her and my uncle like grandparents so we have to see them a lot. My family has always been fixated on weight for some reason. I'm the heaviest person now but I remember growing up feeling like the largest person in the room at 8 yrs old. But I was stick back then.

Well, then maybe you just have to tell her when she says something cruel and/or unacceptable. If you have to maintain a relationship then it's time to let her know how some of her words are unnecessary and hurtful! I took my Aunty's criticism for many years but I don't anymore. Although it's your Aunty, there's nothing wrong with expecting respect for yourself! Aunty needs a "finger wag!"

Right on, Bonny! Auntie needs a finger wag!

I am still doing my oil pulling! 20 minutes every morning. My gums have improved so much that it's pretty unbelievable. I'm sure I'll keep it up forever. I pop it in, pull and do other things to kill the time until it's time to spit it out. I make the bed, make my first cup of green tea of the day, play all my Song Pop games and Words with Friends (if it's my turn), wash my face, put in my contact lenses. The 20 minutes are up before I know it!

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on this board since April, and it's time I jump in and post. Several years ago, I was very active here and lost weight with the Atkins WOE. Life got away from me, had three difficult years, and put on some major stress weight. Since about the last week of April this year, I've been low carbing off and on, but I need to get serious. I'd love to join in with you all for some accountability and encouragement.

I will weigh tomorrow morning to get my current weight and make a goal for June. Next week may be a little challenging because we are going on vacation with SIL and BIL and kids. It will be a blast but I know there will be plenty of opportunity to eat bad stuff. I need to come up with a game plan.

Welcome Vanessa!! One of the great things about this way of eating is that it's so easy to stay on plan even when you're traveling or out. You can usually get bacon and eggs, steak, or bunless cheese burger just about anywhere.

Vanessa, I don't know where you're going, but if they Chipotle, that is one of my favorite for low carb eating! They are known for the quality of their food and it's so easy to get a low carb bowl with just meat, cheese, sour cream and guacamole if you want it. Also, if veggies are in your plan, Red Robin will always substitute broccoli instead of French fries. Just a few ideas.

Oh wonderful! I bet there is a Chipotle. We are going to Traverse City, Michigan. There are a lot of chain restaurants there. I may have to give that low carb bowl a try at our Chipotle here in Grand Rapids! I've only been to Chipotle once. We go to Qdoba more. I love their naked burritos. Yum!

I haven't heard of Qdoba, I don't think we have them here. I'm really careful when eating out, so many places add "stuff" to their food. For instance, I never eat scrambled eggs or an omelet eating out because most restaurants don't use real eggs for those things, or they sometimes add things to their eggs to make them fluffier. I worry about chicken breasts or roasted chicken being injected with sugar water to plump it up or give it more flavor. It's very frustrating! But Chipotle I feel is pretty safe. And, like I said, steak is usually a pretty safe bet too. But avoid fajitas. You would think that they would be safe, but they usually have a marinade of some type on the meat.

That's good to know about Chipotle. I think Panera Bread may be the same way.

Well folks, I hope some of you remember me.... . it's taken me 2 hours AGAIN to catch up the rest of the May thread and this one after a crazy couple of weeks. I must check in more often from here on in! It's wedding season which is super busy for my business, as well as my DS had prom, and then the NHL Combine, while my DD had all kinds of stuff as well. Time has just flown by. We opened our cottage and had to fix our deck which the ice jammed up, so our weekends were flying by....

Sandy, grab your coffee if you are allowed that with that terrible absess, which I hope has gone down or been drained by now.

Thanks to Tiggy for noticing I'd gone MIA.

James, your photo was lovely, and you look great (in the May thread) Your commitment to exercise continues to amaze me.
Oh, I almost forgot, my husband wants to know who "James" is. Yesterday at the cottage, our son called to say that Colorado had called and wants to meet him for dinner tomorrow night! I don't know why they didn't interview him during the Combine last week, but he did really well in the fitness testing, and maybe that peaked their interest. Anyhoo.... my husband was going on about what pick they have in the draft etc. and all I could think of was, "I have to tell James that Colorado's going to interview him!" I guess I said it out loud, and he just looked at me and slowly said, "Who is James?". lol. So I explained.... the draft is in 3 weeks, so we'll know soon enough where he's going.

Gypsy, so sorry for your losses, and glad you are back too.

Kimber, congrats on 50 pounds gone, amazing!

Paleo, I missed the debate, but on purpose. I think they all say the same thing and once they get in, they tell you why they can't do whatever they promised to do when they wanted your vote (and this from someone who's mother ran federally a few years ago)

Bulldog Mom, Princess, and Mothergoose, and Bonny Jean, I missed you all and it felt like meeting up with old friends again when I read through all your posts. MotherGoose 149!!!! Unbelievable. Your Vegas photos were gorgeous.

Anyway, I've nattered on long enough for now, will check in tomorrow.

big hugs to all

How awsome is that! If he can get on in Colorado I think he really could do a lot worse. I think they are going to be making moves to potition them selves for the Stanley cup or so.

I am doing his from my tablet. My comouters is completely screwed. I had to order a recovery device from hp because they decided that no one needs them anymore or disks or an operating system people want to use orbthat actually works! Anyway, neveragain will I buy microsoft. I will be giving apple mymoney when I replace the next laptop.

anywho, ate worse this weekend than planned and the workouts might be light this week due to time issues. We shall see if I have to pay for it come saterday

Thank you Bonny-Jean and MotherGoose. Yes, children grow so quickly. We were just saying yesterday that you have to enjoy every moment. When my son got drafted to an OHL team in Michigan and moved away at 16 2 years ago it was so difficult. He was "living his dream" but is gone for almost 8 months of the year, only home for 4 and a half. I spoil him rotten when he's home while still trying to be strict, get him to finish Grade 12 and most of all, be a good person.

James, sorry your laptop is so messed up. Have you run Malwarebytes on it? I use that all the time (it's free) and it cleans off pretty much everything the kids or DH picks up with all the websites they visit. Gee, that doesn't sound too good, does it? lol. My son's meeting the Avs at the Keg for dinner at 6 tonight (here in Toronto) and got a call from Calgary yesterday too. He's still got at least one and probably 2 more years to play in the OHL before he would be ready for the NHL, but you're right, a team that is rebuilding is where we'd like him to go in the draft.

I hope you are okay Sandy. I'm from Wales and when I went back there to live with my Nan a number of years ago, I visited a dentist for a cracked tooth and asked him to bond it back together to hold until I got back to Canada. He pulled it out! I was SO mad. I don't think the care there is always as good as it could be, with the 2 tiered system they have (or had then).

Having my tea with Silk which has changed my life. I found HWC just too rich for my morning "cuppa", but the Silk is fabulous and less than 1 carb. Thank you again to MG or BJ, I think it was one of you who suggested it. I'm holding firm between 128 and 130, which I know doesn't sound like a lot but I still look 5 months pregnant if I let my stomach out, I want to get that last 10 pounds back off. I just haven't been diligent enough and every time I see a drop I reward myself. Which is BAD I know. Knowing we'll be on TV and it adds 10 pounds is my new motivator for this month

Gotta run, my budgies are trying to eat one of my clocks over the fireplace mantel, their wings have grown back in after clipping and they are in destruction mode.....

Kids are gone and my little whirlwind vacations over. I ate a few to many carbs here and there but for the most part I was very careful and drank a few ultra beers and didn't make it to the gym. But with that said I still lost weight! I am sure not going to the gym helped I will be back today.

I look forward to being back in the group and still an going to shoot for 150 by July 1st.

Hey everyone,

Your successes are inspiring! And I love your quote, Mothergoose - "A year from now, you'll wish you had started today." I can't tell you how much that has inspired me this spring.

When I started lowcarb eating off and on in May I was 165. This morning I weighed in at 160.5. My June goal is to get down to 155. I've recently started running again now that winter is officially over. Ugh! That was a nasty one! But I'm not sure you can really call it running. It's more like run for a minute and a half and walk for three minutes. I repeat that five times, then I'll work up to running longer and longer intervals over the summer. But at least it's a start.
