Good Morning!

I'm new to this thread but definitely not new to Atkins and LC. This year insaw my scale hit 153 and decided to get back to being stricter. I never want my pounds back!

I'm not quite '72 because I eat closer to 20-25 carbs a day. I'm challenging myself to be 145 by July 1st. I've been trying for months to get these few pounds gone so I'm sticking closer to Atkins without lapses. I have a few houseguest challenges in June so would lime to join in here nd be accountable.

May I join in here?

Good morning all -

so many losses & excitement to even mention!! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!

Last10 I'm new to the board too & already it's been a great help & support system

DQ- sometimes when I have snack type things like olives or pickles, I gain bc of the sodium & not drinking enough water with them. I bet if you drank your weight in water today, you'd see a pretty good loss tomorrow..

Kimber - CONGRATS!! 50lbs is an amazing accomplishment, keep at it!!

Vessel- I have beer (MGD64 or Michelob ultra) at least once a weekend, but I follow it up with a few glasses of water before bed & it hasn't affected my weight loss any. Water really is a miracle cleanser in my book. I always know when I haven't had enough or how to get high sodium out of my body, or alcohol!

Baddabing - what do your protein shakes consist of? Any specific brand/type of protein powder?

betterthanever- so sorry about your frustrations with not losing Could there be any "hidden" carbs/sugars/calories in your daily eating? When I first started this WOE, no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to keep losing consistently - then I really looked at my daily carb counts & checked ALL my food labels for sugar in the ingredients & voila.. started losing pretty consistently. Also, are you taking any supplements? I have a bum leg (had a severe car accident about 10 years ago) and sometimes I'm not able to even walk but a few blocks before my foot and ankle go numb or start hurting. I found that the elastic bands, small hand weights (or soup cans), and a good yoga or sitting pilates video to be fantastic work outs without having to be on your feet -

Mthrgoose & BDmom- all of that sounds SO exciting! Having to wait until my DD get a little older before we can start back to adventures like that! Wish we lived close to somewhere exciting.. we're in the sticks of arkansas with basically nothing nearby.. There's Dallas and Hot Springs, but we've done everything there already

Hope everyone stays on track and has a great day!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Wow, ziplining and paddle boarding, very cool! Not sure I like the snake bit. No definitely, don't like that part. Can I take kittens on my board instead? I prefer kittens. Or puppies with big cute eyes and pink noses... Or maybe a hedgehog? Anything cute and cuddly and not a snake.

Just a quick check in as have so much to get done at work! And am out for dinner tonight getting a free burger!

Sorry, I couldn't go back to get your name - but eating only 800cal a day is no good for anyone. You will be compromising your basic bodily functions. Work out your bmr and you will see its not enough to fuel breathing, thinking, circulating, etc. Atkins considered a fast at 1,000cals. Even if you did Lighter Life, you would be on that amount and supervised by a doctor. Consider looking at your ratios and increase the % that comes from fat to ensure protein isn't being turned into glucose. Also look into getting a blood ketone monitor to make sure you are getting deep into ketosis.

Candy, feel for you! Its not hot enough to require an AC here but nothing is worse than sitting around sweating!

Sandy, how's the tooth?

Badda, too funny, love how you are so easily forced into new gym classes!!! That book is called the Art and Science of Low Carb Performance by Phinney and Voltek. It goes along with their first book, just the Art and Science of Low Carb.

Bonny, in that same book they have specific details of what to take for leg cramps.

DQ, they also go into depth about your body having a 4lbs range in any one day due to fluctuations in water moving from organs. Basically, you can gain/lose 2lbs at any time with no reason just as your body adjusts its water content. Nothing to do with salt or anything, just with various processes. So don't worry about the 2lbs since it was just something that happened! The book also explains the increased need for salt when doing lc and how to work out your additional needs.

Where is Hockeymom? Avaleigh? Nikki?

Good luck at your appointment Shelly and same for you Bulldog! I'm off to see a hypermobility specialist myself tomorrow, am hoping for some blood work so I can get it paid for instead of self funding it.

Will be back later to read through this month as its already four pages! Busy Bees!

CdnPaleo sorry, its almost impossible for me to start things off here first - for some reason they are usually doing some sort of work on the server so its never running in the morning (3-4am time for you)!

I ordered a delivery of Swiss Chalet for my friend's birthday today... Oooo Swiss Chalet. I remember your amazing fries soaking in dipping sauce and covered in ketchup. Thank god I live far away from them now!!!

June weight goal: 140. And to remain consistent with my walking (I've walked almost every day for the last 3 weeks).

June 1: 145.4 (walk/arm weights)
June 2: 144.8!!!!!!!!! (walk)
June 3: 145 TOM (a bit of stroll lakeside with DH, but not a real walk like we usually do).
June 4: 145 TOM (arm weights)

Took my car in for work early this morning. Needs all new rotors. And yearly inspection. Goodbye $600! Good times. Car ownership is not what it's cracked up to be. In my next life, I'll live in NYC or Paris and not need a car!

Need to go to the bank to get a cashier's check for DD's deposit and first 3 months rent. And get it sent off. I am so happy that she's starting her life, but I will miss her terribly when she moves to Nevada at the end of the month.

I've been going to the tanning bed for the last few weeks (which I have never done in my life). Roasted butterballs look better than raw ones. Don't know that I'll ever do it again, but it's nice to have some color. And my dresses for the wedding festivities look nice with a bit of a tan.

Kimber, you are just flying!

Guys - exercise is great for your heart. But that's about it, unless you cycle for 8 hours at a time or run a marathon, etc. But if it works for you, great. For me, it's making sure that the carb count is as low as I can get it, and - I hate to say it but it's true-- calories are important (for me). Anyhooo.....

I am so happy to see all the Determination here. That's ALSO what counts.

see yall tomorrow!
I agree with you! I don't know if anything I've ever done has impacted my weight. That's why I pick fun things to do. I also do these things to be an example for my daughters. I want them to grow up trying new and exciting things. My 8 yr old has taken an interest in some of these 5ks I've been looking at doing. It would be great to have a running buddy.

Kimber, Congrats on the 50 lb milestone!!! I hope to be there soon too.

Sara, Its hard getting out when you have little ones at home. My youngest is 5 and I'm just now getting to where I can leave her with someone for a few hours.

Tiggy, Good luck at your appointment as well!

Every still continues to do well! Maybe the losses will rub off on me! I'm torn about weighing every day right now. I think I'm just going to not worry about it even though in the past, it kept me in denial. I'm eating on plan so hopefully I'll be surprised tomorrow at the dr's.

Congratulations Kimbersh47: guess you're another go to expert now eh?

weight is holding steady at 250; too many cheat items are still in the house: berries, nuts to make an honest run at the 72 menu plan. Still managing to follow fairly close.

Had a BPC for breakfast with gelatin & 1 egg: held me off till lunch; that was a surprise! Thought I would be hungrier

DW is away so the boys & I are having burgers for supper. I'll be enjoying mine on some oopsies!

For my fellow Ontario members; how did the debate go? I missed it

Hi everyone. Thanks for the info on the beer! I know I need to stay away. I got to go grocery shopping today. Found the health food isle in Publix and bought my coconut oil. I do not buy the louanna.. not as good to me ..my opinion. Love reading everyones posts. No time to write a lot though most of the time. I love coming in here though for the encouragement . Just needed to comment on how great everyone is doing! I wish I was doing this with you all. I still have a few days left on my hcg round but I've now switched my menu up a bit to be following Atkins Induction. If I eat lunch it's 2 boiled eggs and a piece of protein for supper. Today I skipped lunch and had a 6oz steak for supper. Other than that black coffee and water plus my hhcg drops.
I have a big issue with the scale. I haven't weighed once in the last 2.5 weeks. I prefer to feel the loss in my clothing. The good news is my summer clothes from last summer almost fit me again!
Thanks to everyone for the inspiration !!!

Hi all, ate on plan and did my planed workout. The trainer called me out and said she expects me to crank the knob on the bike more tomorrow. We shall see. Anyway see ya all tomorrow.

justme_sara – I found a zero carb one and one that has some carbs. I use them depending on the day’s workouts i.e. carbs on weight training days no carbs on cardio days. I will post what they are tomorrow. I got them at Vitamin Cottage. I also use an Amino supplement that is supposed to possibly help build muscle but for sure is proven to help not loose muscle. I guess they use it when someone is on lengthy bed rest and such.

I love olives. I also gain around two to three pounds after eating them, or sauerkraut, or pork rinds, or hot wings (even homemade if I use the hot sauce) I cannot eat any deli meat at all, no pepperoni, no salami, not even tuna. If I do, I have a week of highs.... No diet soda either. No beer, even ultra light... but it's so good!! So here I am, going to try to do natural as much as possible to see if I can get the rest of this weight off me.

Kimber congrats!!

Jeez, up some pounds today. Went running yesterday and maybe just holding on to water. The problem with daily weighing!
It's been upper 80's-low 90's here, but we are in for a doozy of a t-storm today.
Cheers.

Good morning everyone!!

Busy busy day for me today, last day of school for our students so we have all the different graduation ceremonies going on + awards ceremonies + school wide pizza for early release lunch.

Weighed today - 186.6! down a lb from yesterday - I've been on a bulletproof coffee kick the last few days & I think upping my fat intake has really helped. Was in a rush this morning, so didn't get to have my daily bpc this morning, but I'll supplement that tonight with some steak or chops & decaf bpc.

Hot and muggy here, has been for day's starting to really feel like our normal Texas summer, in the 90's today

Baddabbing - hope you have time today to post the protein shakes, really interested in them!

Vessel - What does a daily menu for you look like? You have amazing will power to keep on such a clean menu, it would be super hard for me to stay on plan without my tuna, pepperoni, or occasional diet soda - hugs for you my friend!

Hope everyone has a great day & stays on plan - check back later

Justme, I'm a teacher and we've been out for awhile. You must start late. What's your subject/job? I'm elementary music and band.

Morning all, today is going good so far but then I am only an hour in. Something has highjacked my computer and I cant seem to get rid of it. Its driving me nuts. I might have to scrub my drive and load everything up over again! Maybe now would be a good time to see what it would take to get windows 7 on this bad boy. I can stand this windows 8 or 8.1 or whatever else they have going and it appears they are in no hurry to change it back.

Anyway plan for the day. Eat on plan, spin, weights workout.
