Morning everyone -

These boards are so motivating! Glad to have joined up with you all-

Vessel - nice to have a "weight & lurking buddy!!" Any tips and tricks for things that have worked for you thus far?

Kimbersh - I love seeing consistent losses for you, maybe I need to start posting a daily weigh in like many of you do. The last time I did that I got discouraged though and switched to weighing only once or twice a week. Any thoughts?
Also- I struggled with portion control too, & the little ziplock snack bags are my best friend!! I will buy an item (pepperoni, cheese cubes, almonds) and portion it out into the snack bags. Then when I want something, I pull it out and eat it, just 1 bag.. I found that doing this leaves me satisfied & not feeling deprived & I don't overindulge!

Freddy - LOVE buffets & Buffalo wings, I will stuff myself silly with them but they're just so good! Glad it was a good time for you

Hope everyone has a great day -

May 3 didn't weigh in

I have been staying on plan so I really hope this is just a bloat thing.

On a good note our family arrived early this morning so I made bacon, eggs and sausages for everyone when I got home from work. I have to work tonight then I am off for three days!

I will weigh in tomorrow and if I have gone up again I will have to write down my food log and track a little closer.

My goal for June is to hit 150.

Morning all, its a good day, weather is almost warm, sun us shining, no wind. I decided Tuesday is motorcycle Tuesday so I got on my bike and had a relaxing cruise to work. Later I will go directly to the gym and then home by sundown.

Last night I barely made my CRX class. I need to ask someone what those letters mean. Anyway turns out my core is soft and I should be doing this class often. It was awkward because the motion were so foreign to me but beneficial. The same instructor did a step class after and convinced me to stay for it and I did pretty good with that one. Did not trip even once and even though I was bumbling around trying to mirror her motions. Then I did 30 mins of running. So one of my goals was already obtained this month.

Today's plan - Eat on plan, workout, rest.

Justme - I'm happy for you that you are able to limit yourself to a snack size baggie of those foods. Unfortunately for me...the other little buggers would continue to call my name until I either 1) gave in and ate them all , or 2) went insane!!

I am following the Atkins '72 version and that works for me. I eat eggs, hamburgers, and steaks along with butter, mayo and olive oil. Occasionally, I will have fish or chicken wings but I like to keep my taste buds under control! The less variety I have...the less cravings I have!

What plan are you following?

June weight goal: 140. And to remain consistent with my walking (I've walked almost every day for the last 3 weeks).

June 1: 145.4 (walk/arm weights)
June 2: 144.8!!!!!!!!! (walk)
June 3: 145 TOM

Not surprised by the .2 bump, TOM will do that to me! I am just glad it came a little early (I loooove this peri-menopause stuff) so that it won't interfere with my wedding anniversary next Wednesday or our trip to NYC a few days after that. I haven't used my uterus in nearly 20 years, is this really all necessary???

Heading off to hang out with family on the lake today. I told them I would bring the food to this week's gathering, so no worries about temptations. Grabbing some rolls and chips for the kids and the others, but DH and I will be more than able to stay on plan.

Hope everyone has a great day. You guys are having some great losses already this month!

Hi Everyone! Had an amazing time with my son in Vegas! We took the slide through the shark tank, went ziplining, and thoroughly enjoyed an Elvis Impersonator Concert! Well...... I enjoyed it and he was a good sport about it.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed doing the things that I've been watching for years. It's truly like I have a whole new life.

Here's something though.... as my son and I were waiting at the top of the slide to go down, my son went first, and then I was standing there waiting for the attendant to tell me that I could go. It honestly went through my mind to say..... WAIT! Are you sure that I'm not too heavy for this slide and I'm not gong to break it and end up shark food???? I didn't ask that, but I honestly thought about it. Here's the funny part, I weigh 149, my son weighs 200, and it never would have occurred to me to ask if he was too heavy for it, because he's not fat. But to me, I still am. It's just so hard to comprehend it.

I'm gong to try to catch up with everyone, but I know I'll miss some. Let me just say that I'm so proud of us all for being here and starting our summer months dedicated and determined to reach our goals!

Sandy, I'm so sorry that you aren't feeling well!

Gypsy, I'm so happy to see you back!! I'm very sorry for all of your losses! We're here for you and we're happy to have you back with us.

Sara, I'm sorry you're having a rough day! Don't let it ruin the rest of the day. Right back on plan!

CaliMom, Nice to see you!

Kimber, your eating is very similar to mine. I keep it very simple. It seems to work best and I don't have cravings.

BullDogMom, Sweetie, I'm so sorry that you still don't have any answers. Your appointment is this week??? Hang in there and know that we're here for you. I know it doesn't make you physically feel any better, but hopefully we can help emotionally.

James, honestly, I don't know where you get the motivation and determination for all that exercise. You are a Rock Star!

Freddy, glad you were able to stay on plan during your birthday dinner! Way to go!

Candy and Kimber, way to start off the month!

Bonny, you are starting the month with some great losses! I'm so proud of you! I'm sorry that your cousin's visit is coming to an end. It does sound like you had a great visit!

Thanks mthrergoos. Vegas is something!
I stayed on plan but was up a couple prob. due to salt. It's nice to be part of such a supportive group. Kudos.
Grass fed burgers for lunch and free range chicken for dinner. Both on sale!
I didn't state this at the beginning but my June goal is 175, about 5 lbs.

MtherGoos is back

Well look who's back
Looks like you had a great trip!
Fatfreddy: Like I said, might be time for a nick change
Baddabing: are they shrinking you at that gym with killer cardio or what?
Justme Sara: I think you did pretty well considering that the popcorn machine was right outside your door all day.
Princessmommy: what dvd's did you order?
Calimom: my oldest loves oopsies too; weird eh? Are you using the muffin top pans?
BulldogMom: I know exactly which creek you would have been up; been there many times myself

So, finally watched the last episode of GofT. Oh boy...that's all I'll say in case someone missed it.
Off to the gym tonight; that 15-8-4 protocol is quick & easy.

Well, I spent the last 3 weeks trying to up my calories and fat, to see if that would shake things up and get the scale moving again. It did not. My biggest success was when I first started this, and was staying around 800 cal. I ended up getting lightheaded, so tried some other roads, none of which worked (all low carb). So, I'm back to restricting calories and not worrying about my "macros." I have no hunger on low carb, but neither have I had the "boundless energy" some people talk about. It doesn't seem to matter if I do high fat or high protein, low cal or as high as 1600. I don't feel energetic (and yes, I've been to the doc, and he says everything is fine). I'm hoping that I'll get some rest now that summer is here. I'm really bummed, though, because I wanted to start walking (I feel so much better physically when I walk, but my schedule and fatigue prevented it). But about a month ago I ended up with planters fasciitis on one foot, so now instead of walking, and digging in my garden, and hauling brush...I have to baby my foot. Bummer.
Sorry for the rant!

Princessmommy, have you tried Tai-Bo? It helped me drop some real weight about 15 yrs ago. I was never coordinated enough to do any aerobics style vid!

If you do the original Tea Bo videos and am a freak about equal reps on equal sides you will notice that they cut the video wrong in several places. I know I am wierd like that.

Mther 0 So put it on my bucket list or not?

Stayed on plan, had a good weight session, had a good strong cardio, I am now starting to feel like I may be in some kind of shape. I have been only doing protein shakes at night and it seems to be good. Back in the day my largest meal was always my last. Dont know if that translates to weigh loss or not.

Thanks! I haven't done any serious workouts in a long time but I was fine. It was tougher on my legs because they were constantly working while I was trying to keep my balance. But the solution to that is you kneel on the board if you need a break. It wasn't hard paddling or even keeping balance after the first 15 minutes. You can see from the pics that the water was calm so that helped. I really don't think you would have any issues. You should try it at least once.

hi everyone!!! wow bulldogmom and mtrhgoos how BRAVE you are!! i KNOW that I wouldn't be able to stay up on a paddleboard for more than a minute! and ziplining! yikes!

Guys - exercise is great for your heart. But that's about it, unless you cycle for 8 hours at a time or run a marathon, etc. But if it works for you, great. For me, it's making sure that the carb count is as low as I can get it, and - I hate to say it but it's true-- calories are important (for me). Anyhooo.....

I am so happy to see all the Determination here. That's ALSO what counts.

see yall tomorrow!

Hi all,

Happy June! Things I am doing now that I never did before:

*Joined a gym, and am actually going and doing exercise there!
*Have quit smoking.
*Was in control on my birthday- no alcohol, no cake, just Atkins...and I felt great.

I have been re-reading the book, and I have to laugh at myself for the last few years. I have done this WOE twice successfully, and twice I have allowed it all to come flying back on, or tweaked the diet to add things like beer, cigarettes, too much coffee, basically not following but pretending to.

I cannot say that I will never fall off the wagon again, because it could happen. But in allowing myself to admit that I might slip off, I feel like that is also a step in the right direction.

Loving the support on here!

I messed up on my birthday... no cake, ate on plan. Had one large glass of Miller Lite Draft, and one glass of Merlot. Put me a few oz. up for my weekly weigh in. My own fault. Learning by mistakes, well maybe I won't forget this way. !!
