Happy Sunday everyone . We just got back from an extended-family weekend trip. I still managed to eat VLC but def. too much. I might skip the scales for awhile.
It's really my problem with IFing. I can fast easily but when it's on, it's on.
We did eat at a place in Kansas City that had an awesome burger and had listed in the menu a bunless version, so props to Rock'n Brews!
Back on the wagon tomorrow.

23 June

Morning All:
Enjoying the sunshine. We're suppose to get a lightning show later today; we'll see.
The kettlebell workout kicked my ass: literally. Have been gingerly sitting down. You getting feel the workout in your upper legs & butt.
MtherGoos: if/when you finally try adding salad & veggies back into the diet, just drown it with hollandaise sause or high fat salad dressings
Baddabing: 11.5 hrs of sleep? Wow! We have birds outside the windows doing reveille at 03:30
DairyQueen: are you playing electric guitar of bass? My son has been taking lessons for 5 yrs & we asked him to play the Bond theme song for us...we're still waiting
Almost time to walk Gunner then another session of kettlebell swings.
Have a great day folks & aboard to the new folks

Hello everyone,

We are back from our vacation. Up a few pounds. But it is TOM as well, so that may account for some of it. Hoping the extra pounds go away quickly so I can get back to losing. I'm going to try to catch up on what I missed while I was gone.

Have a great morning!

I am looking forward to Tuesday as I have the night off and can sleep.

MG I can't believe your losses!

I hope to check in before work tonight but it has been hectic.

I am still here and routing everyone on. I am a little discouraged but still going strong. It will happen.

I'm still here...mostly just lurk on this thread. I dropped 7 lbs in a week earlier this month, then sat for a couple weeks. Now I'm down another 1.5...finally under 220! I've gotten leg cramps more often this month, and I think it's from working outside in the heat. I'm drinking water like crazy, and probably should up my potassium (I take one 595mg pill daily). But, I thought I'd get one of those sports drinks--add the potassium/sodium that way, and get a different taste at the same time. I opened a bottle of powerade zero yesterday, then happened to look at the Gatorade G2 today. "Low calorie," it said. I checked--45 cal in a small bottle, and 12 carbs!!! THAT'S going back to the store! geez!

Bonny, you wanted a new picture, so I changed my avatar. That's this morning.

Better, that's how I lose too, nothing for weeks, then all at once I'll drop several pounds. Don't let it discourage you. For some of us, that's just how our bodies work.

PaleoGuy, I definitely get plenty of fat! LOL My diet is much more fat than protein, but I do try to keep an eye on my calories too, just so that they don't get too out of control.

Bonny, it could still be from all the activity you've been doing lately too. I know it can take me several days to lose it if I'm retaining water.

Leanne, hang in there! Don't get discouraged, just know that our bodies don't necessarily lose in the way we want them too. As long as you stay on plan, 100%, it will happen. Consistency and patience. You've got this and we're here to help!

Vanessa, TOM and being away from your regular routine can both cause some water weight. Don't worry, it will be gone soon.

Freddy, isn't it nice to find places that actually acknowledge low carb? I love that, but there are so few!

EJW, nothing wrong with staying the same. It will drop soon, just stay consistent.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I know! Crazy, right??? And the other night, I bumped my hip on the counter in the kitchen, and it hit bone! Not that there isn't plenty of fat on my hips, there IS, but obviously the bones are much closer to the surface than they used to be!

MtherGoos: your turning into a bean pole!
No worries about you cutting the fat; I should have known better offering that advice eh?
Baddabing/Fatfreddy: you guys should give the kettlebells a try! They are seriously kicking my butt!
Bonny-Jean: how long was Sandy1 trip? Hopefully she got her tooth/abyss problem sorted out while she was here.

Happy Monday afternoon to all!

9 - 196.5 (started low carb)
17 - 194.0
19 - 192.0
20 - 192.0
21 - 190.5
22 - 191.5
23 - 190.5

I know my weight challenge is minor compared to most others here. As a 6’ tall batchelor, I need to lose perhaps a fifth of me. When I get down to 175 I will see how things are going and re-goal accordingly. I’ve read through this forum thread and am amazed at the courage and fortitude of you all. Well done!

You've lost 6 lbs already so that's amazing in itself. I've only lost 3 really and that kind of sucks so hang in there cause every single pound matters whether you wanna lose 10 or 100.
Losing is losing so be happy it's not 100!! That's a lot of work!!

Its so great to see everyone's losses, and to hear the encouragement that if we stick with it, the weight WILL come off. Personally I need to hear that over and over! I so appreciate all you who post in such a positive voice. I know it gives me strength to keep at it when I feel discouraged.
MG, what a fabulous pic! I love your before and after, too....what an encouragement!

Better, I know what you mean. Especially in the beginning, if I would start to feel the desire to eat something off plan, I would come here and just immerse myself in the boards. Just read, read, and read. It really can help to keep your head in the right place. And I just can't stress enough that if you stick to the plan, it will work. The scale may go for weeks without moving, but if you're diligent and consistent, it absolutely will happen. You're really doing a great job!

Hey y'all... happy Monday!

Busy, busy weekend at my house. All the rain has made the weeds come up like crazy and DH can't be the work mule that he used to be so... my daughter and sis-in-law and I tackled the yard ALL day Saturday. I'm STILL sore from all the weeding, mowing, weed whacking, and edging.

Sunday we had a belated Father's Day celebration for my father-in-law since he was out of town with DH in Iceland. In addition to volcano exploring and whale watching, they also got matching tattoos while in Iceland - it was my father-in-law's first and he is 71 years old. It is the Norse symbol "the helm of awe" which is a symbol of protection. There was a gorgeous pork roast for dinner that I might have eaten way too much of.

I'll spare the fellas from talk of female woes but let's just say I'm hormonally bloated with a mood to match.

Glad you're back Lilac. Missed you and surprised it was only 4 days. Wonder why it felt longer?
Sounds like your hubby and his Dad had a great time. Yeah, yard work can be a monumental chore! Especially with the jungle you got in your yard!!! Holy.
Well, take care and look after those sore muscles!

Lilac: you'll have to post a link to the tattoo. I'm too lazy ATM to google the symbol. Like your description of a moody week
MtherGoos: another person to check is myomytv on youtube. I should give yoga a try; my legs feel like coiled springs from all those kettlebell swings.
We were out doing yard work this weekend as well. Stupid lawnmower keeps stalling; considering we just had it tuned up, you would think it would be running like a charm
And to add insult to injury, the weed whipper ran out of nylon: can't win
On a positive note, my DW made a mean pulled pork in the slow cooker

Hi MG, I am in the Phoenix area. If you love this heat, then yes, you are in the right place! I don’t really mind the high temps here, but what bothers me is when the low is 90 degrees. Ugh! Not good hiking weather.

Bonny-Jean, you are so right. Every pound counts and I am very happy with my progress. If I lost 100 pounds I would vanish... my lifetime adult low weight was 133, and that was extreme. My ribs showed and I badly needed to gain weight. So I’ve always thought of myself as “thin,” but after a few decades sitting in front of a computer... guess not!
