All shopped out from fighting the crowds at the goodwill. 50% off everything. I bought everything a little small, the goal s to fit into everything by the end of July. The one pair on pants I didn't try on are too big. I will bring them back tomorrow. My 8 year old found herself 3 adorable dresses, score! Off to bed now and counting down till Tuesday night. That is my next night off

Ha-ha... that's funny. WTH, another pound!! I'm getting comfortable with a couple of ounces a day and you're losing a pound a day???

Maybe that worked taking it at bedtime but I also took 4 pills at once, making 400mg's. I read potassium pills are really hard on the gut and something about the kidneys???? Certainly don't wanna mess that up??

Welcome Mountain. Love that sign in your avatar!

I went to buy my ribeye at our local restaurant food supply store and found another fatty cut of meat--NY Strip. I buy them both as roasts there and cut it into steaks here at home. I picked up the NY Strip this time because it was $40 cheaper! I LOVE NY Strip and didn't even know that!! What a tasty slice of beef that was. I will get that more often now that I know!

Congratulations once again MG!!! I am so happy to watch your success. You are just feeding into my belief that I will be able to do this as well. Thank you so much!

OMG Bonny- you are so close to the 150's!!! Maybe tomorrow! Hope that potassium works again for you tonight.

Badda - I am SO jealous of your 11.5 hours of sleep!!! I am lucky if I can stay asleep 5 hours. Not sure what my problem is but at least I do ok on 5 hours

I'm still at 274lbs today. I can't complain though---I have lost 10 lbs this month (and still have time to maybe drop a few more!).

Wrong way scale! Good thing I have my handy dandy graphing app to show me that this is what my body does to me every couple of weeks and if I just keep doing what I am doing----the weight will start dropping again!

Ellen - A snail's pace is way better than what you were doing before. It may take you a little while to end up where you want to be you WILL get there! It is easy for me to relax about this whole process because I Love Love Love what I'm eating!! Low calorie, low fat diets left me so miserable that I wasn't willing to continue the torture in order to achieve the results. Eating steak every night is glorious!!! I know that I can do this for the rest of my life---so I am no longer worried that I won't ever make goal. Goal to me used to mean I could go back to eating like a regular person. I now know that I will NEVER be able to eat the carbs again. And I'm ok with that now. I have made my peace I'm just sad that it took to until I was 47 to do that! You can do this!! We are here to cheer you on when you are discouraged and to celebrate with you as you succeed!

Morning All

Not a great scale day but may be do to all that manual labour yesterday!! Manual post hole digging then man handling a power auger. Not an easy task when working with wet clay!!! Ugh. Only have about a foot of nice dirt then thick, packed clay! Anyway, hoping I can get the arbour up today! Not sure how I'm gonna manage that on my own but I have to try!

Hey girls........ it could be worse. I didn't get my slap in the face till I was 55 so be happy that you'll be slimmer and healthier for 10 or so years more than me.
Good luck to all of you. I'm an Atkins '72 purist and have never been more successful in my life, albeit a slow process, it is working and I know as long as you stay on plan, it will work for you as well.

Well, if the "ups" don't bother you then that's a very good thing but unfortunately some folks get very upset by them and sadly young women have so many variables going on that make those little numbers jump up and down, I just don't like to see so many letting that decimal make them crazy. Yes, I like to see them on a downward trend myself, even slowly but I'm just hoping that when they do go up, others won't let that faze them.

oh, I hear you! I was reading on some site that we can fluctuate 4 lbs day to day!! I am just so thankful that my usual bump up is about 2 lbs. Luckily, I have been tracking daily weights long enough that I know it is going to happen but then I also know that it will be followed by a nice drop. Everyone needs to realize that the daily weigh in is just data collecting. The important thing to watch is the downward trend.

Down another half a pound today to 144.8. That probably means my losing streak is at an end for another month, but I'm very happy with that. I would assume I can safely start adding in a few veggies now. Tomorrow.

Bonny, you busted butt yesterday, so I'm sure that's why you didn't have a loss today. Give it a day or two, you know it will happen. I definitely see you finishing out the month in the 150's.

Kimber, don't stress on that little blip. Seriously, sometimes I'll go up a pound or two before seeing a decent drop.

Oh, I think you're so right about the "workout" holding back the loss. I'm so excited to see 159 anything, then 149 anything!

You're just blowing me away with your losses lately!!! You "say" it's time to try some veggies.......... are you really??? Lucky for me, I get to sit back and watch your induction into maintenance and as usual, get to follow your lead!!

Bonny, you always make me laugh! My BF says the same thing every time I say I'm going to eat veggies. He says, " You know you aren't going to, so why bother saying you are?" He knows me too well. Honestly, I will. I had a little bit of avocado on my burger last night. I know that's not actually a vegetable, but it is one of my favorites. And, honestly, it's the one thing I would splurge on occasionally even during the weight loss phase. So that wasn't very unusual for me. This week, I will definitely have some salad I think.

Hi Everyone, I am not losing much but anything is better than nothing, right. I journal my food with carbs and calories but hat throws me off is the eating out. I am very sensitive to salt, and it usually takes about three days to undo the damage.

What is your experience with salt sensitivity?

Sure something is better than nothing but don't sell yourself short! You deserve better than that so just decide and agree with that and start your Atkins Induction. I prefer the '72 version. I believe it has the quickest results although it can be a little restrictive but you kind of have to be to lose, right?
If you're just starting Induction, then don't fret the calories right now. Just keep your carbs as low as you possibly can. Some of us on the 1972 version try to keep them way under 10, I think the '92 version allows up to
20 with some being from 2 cups of loosely packed greens per day.
I rarely go out to eat now cause there's just too much unnecessary fillers and spices loaded with sugar to even take the chance anymore. If I go out I will ask for "clean" meat, no glazes, spices, sauces or rubs. I'll salt and pepper if need be. Most places have no problem offering that. Not much you can do with a burger if they fill it with bread crumbs or rice or such. Don't be afraid to ask what's in or on something!

I think everyone notices high sodium meals and such, especially here in the challenge where most of us weigh daily!
