Yay for you Kimber!!

I'm so happy that you made yourself smile today! Good work my dear!!
Love those moments and I just tried a skirt and jacket I bought years ago when I was crushing on some guy. Haven't tried it in 5 yrs and I did tonight and it's TOO BIG!!!! Enjoy your shopping now and in the future cause I'd rather spend $20 on a nice top than a pizza any day!
Enjoy your day!!

Kimber: my 1 packet of gelatin weights in a 8 grams or .3oz; can you confirm size of packet or weight for amount of gelatin used in the recipe? I don't want to make something the ballistic guys could use
Congratulations on the shirt fitting btw
MtherGoos: there kettleBELLS, not balls! Was that a typo?
So were you up late or really really early?
BAddabing: have fun with the updates. Hopefully you haven't lost any important data.
Bonny-jean: we had a 1/4 freezer of grass fed beef that I managed to buy from someone at work who grows their own. Unfortunately, 1/4 freezer doesn't last long with us. And trying to find a butcher who doesn't charge thru the nose is tricky at best here.
BTW, I read somewhere that pickle juice was good for cramps. Worth a shot if you don't like supplements.
My DW had a friend who use to clean her fish tank with bleach & always wondered why her fish were dying
Lilac: we were lucky in a way; most of the folks calling were happy just getting a trouble ticket & someone to vent too.
Time for supper (ribs) & then off to the gym with the boys. So much for the kettlebells tonight

Oh ribs!! My fav! I'm going to throw 4 WHOLE RIBS on the bbq tonight. Such a sad little piece of meat! I know the butcher thing. One shop close to home is more than Safeway but the other one "across the tracks" has very reasonable prices but again CPG, it is meat so we can't escape those high prices. Just think of the money we're saving on all the junk, snacks, take-out we used to get!! Right!!
I think of that when I'm paying a $200 meat bill!

OK I did it. I successfully logged on using my computer the way it should be!

Not going to do the gym tonight. I might take a week off with the exception of tomorrow because they are classes I take with my wife. Just a little achy in the joints and muscles which could be from overuse, allergies, or some sort of flu that has not fully hit.

I can use that time to cook up some actual food that I should be eating and finishing setting up this computer.

Bonny - right on with the price of real food versus fast food. I think about that too when I start to complain about meat prices. I used to think nothing of dropping $10+ on a lunch and about $6 for an xl coffee and bagel sandwich - that $16 can now buy me 2 lbs of tenderloin on sale that will be at least 4 filets and 4 meals. '72 is actually cheaper in the long run because you're buying core items and not a lot of other things.

PaleoGuy, LOL, No it was just my ignorance! But then I got a visual of you playing with Kettleballs, whatever those may be and it made me LOL. Ok, well let me know how it goes with Kettlebells. I was up late last night, I'm finding that I need less and less sleep. But of course I'm also on the west coast, so it wasn't horribly late.

So agree with you all on the meat prices. Honestly, I'm a ribeye freak. I LOVE them. And when I consider what we used to spend eating dinner out every single night, I have no problem spending the money for them. Plus, all I really eat during the day is eggs, so I figure I've earned my steak at night.

PaleoGuy: My Knox packets are .25 oz each. I use 2 packets to 3.5 cups of liquid. If I did my math right, you would use 4.25 cups of liquid for 2 of your packets.

Bonnie: You've reminded me that I probably better start shopping in my own closet before I miss the opportunity to wear the clothes that I have in there! I look forward to the day everything in there is too big!

Baddabing: I am so glad that my hubby is the one that does all that computer nonsense!! I don't have the patience to deal with it. I just want to be able to sit down and do what I want to do! Glad you were able to finally get yours up and running!

I spend a lot of money on my steaks too but I agree that being we don't go out to eat nearly as often, it all seems to come out even in the end.

Does anyone have any Goodwill locations by them? They were an absolutely godsend when needing new clothes as I dropped sizes rapidly once upon a time. While they never had much of a selection in plus sizes, once I got into regular misses' sizes, the selection and brand names available were absolutely amazing. Even now I have a storage closet FULL of designer labels, just waiting for me to fit into again. Sigh... some day...

Kimber - Believe it or not, when we did some light remodeling last year (painting all rooms, new curtains, linens, etc) - almost every single item I redecorated with came from Goodwill. This included light fixtures, ottomans, wall art, even a beautiful stained glass floor lamp). I LOVE Goodwill, too!

One must check in very regularly to keep up. Very cool.

Meme, I've got the '72 book and I'm trying to do it strictly. Lettuce, some sauerkraut, maybe some broccoli. That's about the extent of my vege foray.

Stuck at 181. Any expert advice? 1400-1500 average cals per day. Under 20 carbs. 80-100 protein 80-100 fat.
Chugging water like crazy. Oh well, I'm gonna stay the course.

Ribeye alert: for those near Kroger stores there ribeyes are 6.99 per pound. This might be the last day for the sale price.

B.B. - what were those Scotches BTW.

Kimber I'm so behind but I also love the new picture. I also can't wait to make some coffee jello. Have you tried it with cream? I am kinda thinking a bullet proof version that might help get me through my work nights.

I have been shopping my closet for awhile now and have even given away some things but I am looking forward to getting a few more pairs of pants. Saturday our Goodwill is having a sale. I like my pants tight to hold in the jiggle of my thighs. Unfortunately my closet store still has to many pairs that would just plain cut off the circulation if I could even get them up! So off I will go to shop!

I think I will have to go back to journaling my food. I have just been winging it for a long time and somewhere I have slowed my losses. As most of you know I do not eat clean 72 Atkins. I eat net carbs and quite a few veggies as well as muffins in a minute recipes. I also drink lots of coffee and artificial sweeteners.
I know I am very fortunate to be able to have these things, but maybe it is time to cut back and make sure I have not lost my ketosis advantage.

On a good note the gym is still going well and I am very happy with the changes that have come along over the past few months.

Do any of you still log your food?

I think I will probably have to have those snug pants as well. These legs just don't seem like they are going to fare very well. Kimber I totally get the cute clothes thing. I know even with the working out my skin will never be the same. It is ok. I wish I could fix it but I am the one who stretched it out in the first place. I will say it kinda makes me jealous when I see the skinny beautiful skin on the ladies who say I lost x amount of weight had 6 kids when I know that will not be for me but I will be healthy and that is enough.

Bonny I hope this is the beginning of a new download slide for you. You are doing such a great job. You are deserving of a whoosh!

Good morning, all!!

Kimber - I have a lot of Goodwills around me as well. Sometimes I do what I call "the Goodwill crawl" on Sunday mornings (when they have a color ticket for 1/2 price). I start when they open at 10am and try to hit as many as I can. I have... hmmm... over a dozen within a 20 mile radius. I like to think I have a great eye and I truly have scored some fabulous deals. Some that come to mind is a pair of great condition Limited Edition Uggs boots for $20, a full length Wilson's suede winter coat lined with black faux sherpa for $15 (a size M that I ended up giving to my sis-in-law once I re-gained my weight), an all-wood armoire for $15, a Skagen watch still ticking for $10 (over a year later and it still works on that battery!), I literally could go on and on! I've gotten furniture, clothing, framed art, kitchenwares, all at incredible deals.

I have nothing new to report as far as the challenge goes. I really like not weighing and am trying to get my head wrapped around the commitment for the July challenge and weighing every day. My goal for July is to lose 10 lbs. My goal overall is to be firmly in ONEderland by the end of the year. I really hope I will get there!

Fat Freddy - I will answer your question when I get home. I don't remember.

I like how all you ladies like Goodwill. You should try to shop as a man their. All the racks are based on color not size. So if you want a medium shirt you get to go through racks and racks of shirts looking at washed out tags to attempt to locate your size. GREAT FUN! I decided years ago that my time was worth something and therefore skip places like this.

Don't even get me started on scrubs and how sexist the makers of them are!

Anyway, some how I am going to convince myself to stay at work and not go out on the first day that actually feels like summer. I could easily get on my motorcycle and just go.

RE: thrifts - in my part of the world, the goodwills are the dregs of the thrifts - usually pretty filthy, selling extremely used clothing. I love the Value Villages, though! and some of them sell a lot of new clothing (i'm either into very vintage- as in 60s and older, or brand new or gently used designer clothes)...

I wrote an online review of the closest Goodwill to me - here are a few name brands I have scored - Armani, Banana Republic, Hollister, Talbot's, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Ann Taylor, BCBG, Calvin Klein, GAP, Coach, Born, Cole Haan, Le Crueset... those are just the few I bothered to write down over the past few years.

I love thrift stores. I've made hundreds of $ reselling higher end brands on the "bay". Badda's right about the men's stuff. We get short shrift in most thrift stores.

Maybe it's due to where I live (metro Chicago) but pickings are pretty plentiful for both men and women.

Heart Concert

Afternoon Folks:
Fatfreddy: I'm very interested in the resell & $$$ earning however, haven't ventured further than watching a few yout*be videos about it. We have a pretty good selection here but I don't have a clue about name brands. I usually pick up books or kitchen gadgets that I need.
Scale is slowly dropping back down; hovering around 250 this morning. Good workout last night. Ran into someone from work who pushed me through a chest workout.
Off to the Heart Concert tonight. Hoping for a better show that the YES show we saw a few months back.
Have a good evening folks....
