29th May

Congrats Baddabing; always nice to be recognized for you service.
Bonny: I feel your pain. Either you get a great Dr or you get a pill pusher. The days where they could spend sometime actually listening & going over your history seems to be gone. Good luck with the GYN
Gracie514: our personal trainer aka Gunner always makes sure we're out every single day! Price for his training program: dog food
MtherGoos: I was in Meza? Arizona several years ago in the Fall. The locals said Arizona gets blistering hot; do you really need a grill?
Sandy1: hope you had fun with your sister & daughter? Don't forget, two more days to the new thread I guess Tiggy could do that too seeing as both of you have a time advantage.
Ok, so for the folks who have lost significant amounts, what's the main difference between us & the high fat/low carb folks?

PaleoGuy, You are so right! We almost don't need a grill at times! We're already reaching 110, and by July we should be staying in the 120's. The odd thing is that it doesn't cool down at night. Even at night it stays in the 100's, so your ground water never gets a chance to cool off. You can't get cold water out of your faucets at all during the summer, which is a little odd.
I think the main difference with the low carb/high fat is just that there is a focus on getting plenty of fat in, whereas with Atkins, you don't have to focus on high fat. Also, I think that some of the Low Carb/High Fat people sometimes eat more carbs than Atkins Eaters. For me, I've combined both. I stick to the Atkins 72 Induction Food List, but I do focus on getting plenty of fat.

Fat intake

MtherGoos: I with you; between coconut oil & butter, I'm pretty sure I'm meeting if not exceeding my fat intake. Perhaps I should start tracking again; something I find to be a pain in the a$$

PaleoGuy, as long as you're losing and doing well, I wouldn't bother tracking if you don't want to. No reason to make it harder than it has to be.

Thanks everyone for the support. I've been horrible about giving any back lately but I've been following everyone's progress. You're all doing wonderful and I can't believe May is almost over.

Cudabear, I hope you get some answers too. Its frustrating when you feel like things are getting worse.

Lol Bonny, yes we are, but there are people following a plan specifically called low carb/high fat. They don't do an induction and I think that they sometimes eat a little higher carb then we do. They also often track their macros and make sure that they're getting 70-80% fat. With Atkins we don't usually worry about tracking our macros, we just stick to the approved food list. But, yes, it's pretty much the same.

So the cute little Asian girl that was all laughs, sunshine and rainbows in Aqua Pilates is SATAN in the spin class. I dont sweat. Even in Okinawa I did not sweat. Tonight I was sweating. I think she had planned to kick my arse the second she guilt ed me into her class. I will be going again next week cuz that's how I roll. My Hulk Holgan spin class is tomorrow. I will be curious as to how I perform on that one.

tcircle - You have to understand this thread is more of a motivation thread with a friendly war of the low carb diets. You need to research the different ones and stick to which ever one you like. Some of us are die hard one over another. I believe Atkins 72' is the way to go other believe otherwise. Just understand sometimes a specific diet work better for one over another.

Retaining water today. Ate way too much salt and didn't drink as much as I should have. I'm also on some pain and anti-inflammatory drugs for my neck. Believe it or not-- I pulled some muscles in my neck mowing the yard last weekend!!! On a RIDING lawnmower!! Gotta watch out for that intense workout from now on I guess?! (it does take 3 hours to mow)

Anywho---hope everyone has a good day! Looking forward to a nice restful weekend myself

Morning Ladies... and our two favourite boys!!!

Good job on the great losses this month Candy, Kimber and all who post after me!! You're doing a great job of holding the line there Sandy. Yay!!
BulldogMom: You're more than supportive to everyone, all the time so now it's just YOUR time to receive a little love in return. We're wishing you good news in the very near future!!

Well, I think all this gardening is helping with my weight loss. Still waiting for my landscaper to come and change this front sidewalk from limestone to flagstone (pics of what I got and what I want) why are they always too different things??? Then I'm gonna get him to cut in some sidewalk blocks from the garage to the back gate. Got all the gardening done except for path lights and the statuary. Running out of ideas to entertain my cousin here????

I was just curious what the percentages were. I'm not concerned about it. Like you said, I always thought of Atkins as more fat that protein WOE.
Home this morning; got an internment ceremony at the Military cemetery here to attend.
Baddabing: aren't all the spin instructors sadists? I would rather be on a deserted road enjoying the fresh air than be stuck in a class having someone tell me to dial up the tension. Whatever floats your boat

Good morning! I'm so thankful for short work weeks I peeked at the scale this morning, 201 I know it's from all of last weekend's beer escapades. I shall behave this weekend and try to get back to onederland. Summer is really hard for me!

Bonny ~ I thought there was about a foot between you and your son! I love what you're doing to your front yard. I wish I was ambitious about yard work

Bulldog ~ Hope you are feeling better today!

Sandy ~ Happy Friday!

Candy ~ Is that a new low today?

Kimber ~ You are having a spectacular month!

MotherGoos ~ Did you exercise yesterday? Just wondering if it's affecting your weight at all. I've got 2 days in a row under my belt now and feeling good.

TCircle, Baddabing, PaleoGuy Happy Friday!!!

I'm mad at myself. Why do I get to the 2-3 week of WOE and then go when am I going to start showing my weight loss? It's such an unrealistic thought. But I can't get past it. For some reason, I want affirmation that this is working. I'm not giving up, or giving in or cheating...I'm just venting about myself. lol

Today I have a lot to do, it's my dd's last day of school and tonight we are going to a Girl Scout overnight event. Should be fun, 60 (8-12 yr old ) girls staying up all night doing crafts and stuff. I hope I can make it, I haven't stayed up all night in many many years. Then when we get home on Saturday morning, around 8am, we will try and take a nap. After that me and & dh are taking all the kids plus my nephews swimming, ice cream, drive in movies. On Sunday we will be packing for my dd's summer trip to her dad's. I hate that...I miss her so much when she's gone for 6 weeks.

Gracie I have been exercising for about a week or so now. I've gone twice to the surf set classes and every night that I haven't gone to the classes, I walk at least an hour on my treadmill. I weighed exactly 150.0 this morning. So it definitely doesn't seemed to have helped me lose. I haven't changed anything about my eating yet, I've been eating the same menu for months. But, I did lose 8 pounds already this month, which I really didn't expect at this point, so I don't know. I think the exercise will help me to tone up, but I don't think it will help the scale to move.

Bonny, you are having great numbers this month!!!

Be back to write more soon, have to get ready for work.

I've been craving cigarettes today...I started smoking around age 18 and have stopped smoking cold turkey about 6 times...the last time was March 1, 2014. I guess my body just needs to be addicted to something. I wish I could be addicted to exercise. lol

CdnPaleoGuy – The guy I go to on Fridays i.e. in 4 hours looks like Hulk Holgan but is really mellow. He is an options guy. You can stay at the same intensity if you want but if you’re motivated and want to improve take it to the next level kind of thing. She was more of a DO IT NOW!!!! DON’T STOP !!!! kind of instructor. Each has its place.

I would be out in the fresh air but I have yet to find child care that I trust 6 days a week whenever I want to go work out so…… next best thing. Plus not fearing for my life when a 16 year old kid almost hits me while taking a selfie is a plus.

tcircle – I am glad people like you are around to do things like that because for me it would be my own special kinda hell. I really have a hard time liking other people’s kids. I try but I just can’t. Yet every foster kid I had I would have killed for. Must be something that triggers in me. I especially notice it when I am in a restaurant. Or grocery shopping, or at the mall, especially Walmart, OK maybe everywhere. I am a monster. But that’s why God created you.

AND do as the song says. Get addicted to love!

MtherGoos – The girl trainer told me, but I have not tried it yet, to do 10 Burpies, 10 sit ups, 10 push-ups then repeat once that your metabolism will get a nice boost for a long time. Also know if your building muscle your building an insurance policy that will make it harder to gain because you need more fuel to sustain the muscle you now have. And you could put the hurt on someone if need be.

James, I live in Arizona where we're allowed to concealed carry at all times, so I'm never worried about putting the hurt on someone. I'm not sure if I could even do 10 Burpies! LOL But I was pleasantly surprised with how much I could do in the SurfSet Classes.

Just popping on to say hi...I have the guilts for not posting to much over the last week lol.....

Gracie...what are you up to this weekend, anything exciting.

Tcircle, love your pic, you are so pretty, I love to see what everyone looks like lol, also well done for not smoking...I am now addicted to my ecig lol but am going to start cutting myself down soon, I have gone down different levels already so am near to giving it up completely....have fun at the girl scout event....I bet it will be a giggle to be honest.

James....You are doing so well keeping up the gym, I am always amazed by people that keep it up as for me its about four weeks lol.....but I do love yoga, totally amazing so at least I found something I liked.

Mthrgoos....The surfset classes were they just a one off or is that something you are going to keep up, its really great you can get into exercising now and get really toned up....you should try yoga it is so awesome, I wish I had tried it years ago, but I guess we all like different things....surf set classes sound like fun or was it hard.

Candy, that used to happen to me every morning at 10.15 the site would go down and if I was in the middle of posting I would lose it, I wonder if that's what happened to you, its really annoying though isn't it.....

Bonnie...love the flagstone look it is going to look amazing when it is done....and well done on your drop this morning, wow you are doing incredible, you are just like mthrgoos you just keep on going, hardly ever tweaking and it works....brilliant, you are both an inspiration to everyone.

Kimber, really hope your neck gets better soon, that is so nasty pulling your neck muscles, hope you are resting it....I bet your lawn looks amazing though lol.

Cndpaleoguy, Your post this morning made me laugh about the deserted road lol, you and James are so funny....still haven't been geocaching, weather over here is dismal lol, we are hoping to go soon though, are you going this weekend.

Bulldogmom, I agree with what mthrgoos said to you, at least I think it was mrthgoos.... you are always motivating but when we go through stresses its good to take a back seat and sort yourself out, you can't be there for everyone and put yourself last....I really hope you get a good gyno person that listens to you...sending you a hug.....

I know I have missed someone....but if I go back a page I will lose my post lol......

Yesterdays shopping trip with my daughter was lovely, only all I could find was tacky t shirts, baggy dresses, really long dresses, a few jeans but didn't like the colours, no nice thin spring sweaters or cardigans, no skirts....well I did find one cardigan that was kind of ok, but it was 69 pounds and it was only ok so I didn't buy it....so in the end I brought my daughter some things and I will go somewhere different next time, there are two other shopping centers I want to try so I will definitely try again in another few weeks....I really don't enjoy looking for clothes.
Hope everyone has a great Friday evening, I am being bad and having 2 Bacardi and diet cokes lol.

DQ...Your life always sounds so exciting what are you up to this weekend...
