Good Morning! TGIF! Except not for me really...dh has to work tomorrow, so that means I'll be having all the kids by myself tomorrow. Sometimes that is stressful.

Last night I had a a couple of good pieces of chicken. I had made the family fried chicken. I made mine in the oven, with butter & herbs. Last part of cooking I turned up the oven to 425 and the skin turned out so amazing...almost like a fried chicken. And I had some broccoli & Cauliflower w/cheddar cheese and a smaller salad.

Honestly, once you get past the first couple of days and the shock of not eating all the stuff you thought you liked.... and then you start eating all this AcTUAL food... it actually taste way better!

Has anyone ever made Kale chips? I have not. I seen that Kale was slightly higher carb count than regular lettuce, but really good for you.

I'm actually glad I don't own a scale yet. I will be nice and surprised when I weigh myself. I hope.

I kind of wanted to treat myself to some of those ketosis strips. Just to make sure I'm in ketosis. I think I am though. I've been really tired at night, going to bed about 2 hrs earlier than normal...BUT then I wake up at about 430am WIDE awake. NOT cool. lol

Bonny-Jean had suggested buying some fatter cuts of meat... I'm going to have to ask what are those? I mean I have hamburger...thats fatty. But maybe you were talking about something else.

Need to go to the store and get HWC and more butter and possibly some coconut oil. And more eggs. I've never went through eggs this fast before...

Hopefully you will get some answers soon!
I know that I'm mostly at fault for my weight. Its the other issues like hair thinning, exhaustion, etc that make me feel like something else is going on. I could probably deal with everything except the hair loss. I draw the line at being bald. LOL

ohh....and a lot of you are talking about a lot of different vitamins/supplements.... Is this necessary for success on this WOE, or a doctor orders type of thing, or something that you are taking to improve your overall health? I just don't want to be missing out on anything.

Chicken: I only eat thighs and wings. You could do drumsticks too. Dark meat is fattier. I only pan fry these pcs in coconut oil but that's cause I'm a lazy cook.

Beef: Regular ground hamburger, rib-eye, t-bone, prime rib really anything that is heavily marbled!!

Pork: Ah, pork!! Just about anything! Pork back ribs are the fattiest pork cut you can get! Trust me on that one! Shoulder butt steaks, bacon, etc. Tenderloin is very lean though. I don't do ham of any kind other than a couple of tbsp's in an omelette maybe.

Seafood: Again, just about anything not breaded except for mullosks although I do like my escargot and calamari!

Enjoy darhlin'

Oh, I'm sorry BulldogMom. I didn't mean to imply anything negative to you with my reply? I was just trying to inject a little humour with my "excuse" story. I totally agree 100% that if I was going thru the same thing, I'd be visiting my doctor regularly until he found the problem. Sorry if my post sounded otherwise. No worries.

Man.. When I get out of this stall.. I'm going to kick some a$$.. Just you wait.

Bulldog Mom - The exhaustion is the worst isn't it? I'm thankful we dont have kids so on the weekend when 1pm hits and I hit them wall I can bunk down for a little rest. Let me know if you come up with anything from the gyn. Curious what they say. I couldn't get an appt until August!!!!.. Going to be a long summer.

Candy - Haha.. THANKS!! My weight isn't all that awful right now but I am still on the heavy side and spill over my pants (a little to do with excess skin and even more to do with excess fat!) HA!

Mothergoose - Did you make the goal? I have been cheering you on!!

Kimber - 10lbs!! CONGRATS!!

Leanne - What an awesome month you having!! KUTGW!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Shelly, My tsh was 1.520. It was tested back in October also and was 1.260. I need to read more on PCOS because I didn't think it caused hair loss.

Tiggy, Thanks for all of the info!

Bonny-Jean, We'll have to call you the amazing shrinking woman! Being close to goal hasn't stopped you any! Great job!

MtherGoos, That's awesome about the shirts! I bet you look fantastic!

Sandy, WTG on maintaining! It sounds like your body is okay with the fruits.

Leanne, Good luck on the exercise! I know it always helped me mentally and physically. You might see an initial increase in weight from water retention, but if you stick with it, your body should let go of that.

Kimber, I think you're doing great with your losses. I lose slowly and not much I can do to change the rate. Drinking lots of water might initially cause an increase in losses, but its just been temporary for me.

Candy, You've been doing really well this month! Another great loss on the scale today!

DQ, I see that your scale follows the JUDD principles too. You're still doing great though.

I didn't take it negatively. I know you too well now. Sometimes I do need someone to give me some tough love though.

Re: vitamins and supplements: I don't take any. You can get most of the vitamins you need from the food you eat. I very occasionally will take potassium if i get leg/foot cramps, which only happens when I take lasik right before bed.

If you don't have a serious vitamin deficiency (and not many Americans do), then taking vitamins are a waste of money. There is no scientific evidence that vitamins and supplements do any good if you are generally healthy.

Happy Friday! I still have to pack everything for me and DD Erin for the lake. I got most of the grocery shopping done last night and the beverages. I just want to leave!!! I need me some SUN and LAKE We probably won't leave til around 3:30 because my DS has to go to football workouts. I think he will only be lifting today so shouldn't take too long.

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Memorial Day weekend! I was thinking of taking my kids to see Fort McHenry or something historical this weekend so they don't forget WHY we are celebrating. They seem to think it's just a free day off school sometimes....

Thank you Shelly!!! It doesn't match your accomplishment of quitting smoking! I'm still in awe of all that you've done!

Thank you Sandy and Gracie!

Gracie, I love that idea for your kids! When we used to home school, I would always take that holiday and we would spend it studying that subject rather than taking the day off. For instance, on Columbus Day, we would spend the day learning about Columbus. I never understood how giving them the day off taught them anything or in any way honored the day.

That is a great idea! I know all around this area of Maryland there will be a lot of different activities. We pass the Mason Dixon line every single time we drive there. We always see reenactments as well. Last weekend we saw about 15 horse & carriages with people all dressed in old clothes. It was really cool!

LOL Kimber! I will be right here cheering for you next year! The bottom of the lake so rocky in places and mushy in others that I always keep my sandals on, even in the water. So by the end of summer, my feet have some pretty good tan lines!

omg...is one of the characteristics of this diet extreme thirst?? I can't get enough water. I swear I need a bucket...or one of those camelbacks hikers use... I seriously am so thirsty, and I've been drinking tons of water.

Me!!!! I'm going next Sunday, June 1st. I talked to the owner of the company and he sounds like a fun guy. I hope this is something that can be done pretty regularly. Its been known to stay warm here through October, even November at times. Dh won't do it with me though so I'm going with a friend.
