Gracie, Glad you had a great time! A hot tub sounds so nice. I love the pics!

Shelly, I echo everything Bonny-Jean said. I know you'll get this figured out. Hang in there!

Colleen, Welcome! I'm a sahm too. I have an 8 and 5 yr old. Great losses so far!

CdnPaleoGuy, Love the puppy! Our big guy is named Gunner also.

Has anyone heard of an egg fast? I've come across some people discussing Jimmy Moore's egg fast. You can google it for more info. Aside from the rules, it really doesn't sound any different than a meat and egg fast but its helping people to bust through a stall.

Driving to Lamar take 2.5 to 3 hours if I do it alone. I get to listen to my podcasts, relax and not talk to anyone which is kind of a bliss for me. However this time it was a group that had 2 under two, an older woman who has a small bladder and a pregnant woman who has a smaller bladder so…… it took a little longer, I did not get to listen to my podcasts, and I was forced to talk a lot.

My sons doing well. He is making plans to move to Denver this summer which is not only closer but I actually like visiting Denver. I am not sure how he will do going from a 7,500 population town in the middle of nowhere to a Major metropolitan city. Hopefully he finds it to his liking. I have been trying to convince him to leave that dead town with no potential for many years.

I just got in a cake war a few minutes ago. Not because I care what people eat but because cake is just so blah! There are so many things that would be better yet everyone in this work go for the dried out oversweet nasty cake! I lost. Change is hard.

Tonight’s plan, leg work out, a little cardio, go home.

Gracie514 my moms from Maryland and her sister kind of looks like you. Any chance you’re an Anderson or related to some?

You're asking me?? I didn't mean to imply I knew anything about rinds but I have heard many say how they are loaded with sodium so it was just a thought? I know any amount of sodium makes my scale dial spin like Linda Blair's head! (The Exorcist, for you youngin's)

BEARS: Up north here they use these gun like things they call BANGERS to scare the Polar Bear's away from town but the bears seem to be getting used to them!

Baddabing ~ No Andersons in my family. I live in Pittsburgh actually but have a trailer in Maryland that we use from May 1-Oct 31.

Bonny ~ GREAT, hope the bears near us aren't used to the bangers

Bulldogmom ~ The only egg fast I've heard of is actually used when doing a round of hcg. Some people use it as a "correction day". If you go over 2 pounds of your last dose of hcg then you do a correction day to get you back into your window. I believe it's 8-12 eggs for the day and some people will add mayo or cook in oil for extra fat. But, nothing else except eggs (no cheese).

CDNPaleo ~ He does look like a puppy!

Hello eveyone!!!
I'm in orlando for a urology conference....i've spent the entire day in a freezing cold convention center, but i hope the pool is open late.
There's plenty of food here... Free omelettes and sausage at the hotel breakfast bar, free sandwiches at the conference - i take out the turkey and cheese and that's all i need!
I have a hard boiled egg in the hotel fridge and i bet that's all i'll need tonight.

I'm going to walk the mile back to the hotel when this last talk is finished (oh my gosh the videos i've seen today!) around 6:30.

No weighing until wednesday for me, though! I go home tomorrow night...

Bonny I figure i'll go easier on the rines for now. I'm sure they do make me retain water for sure!
I went ahead and made my Fat Bombs. Maybe the added fats will help. Had a little zuchinni and scrambled eggs for supper. Trying to add in Water too!

If anybody can do it, you can. You've proven when you set your mind to something, you get it done so just get your head there again and you'll be fine. I know how hard it is to get back up, dust yourself off and do this but you can get 'er done Shell! Find that determination cause I know it's in ya

Hi everyone! We've had a great couple of days here. Usually my BF and I just have Mondays off, but this week we took Sunday off too. We spent Sunday playing out in the desert, we took the rhino out for a few hours and even found some abandoned mines that we hiked up too. Then today we took the boat out and took all 3 pitties out with us. They had a great time, but that's a lot of dog! It was a great couple of days, and it was so nice to be able to be so active and do things that we couldn't have done a year ago.

I think I figured something out about why my weight fluctuates so much too. On a daily basis,I probably consume over 2 gallons of liquid. Diet Pepsi, water, and carbonated flavored water. Not because I think I need to drink a lot to lose weight, but because I'm bored, and since I don't snack any more, I drink....... A lot! I always feel bloated and fat. Two days ago I decided to cut wY down on all the drinking, and sure enough, the extra few pounds I had regained went away , and I was even down a couple more ounces to 154.2. I think the reason I always have such good losses after a vacation is because I don't drink as much on vacation. So I'm going to make a real effort to continue to drink less.

Gracie, love all the great pictures!

Shelly, I know a lot of people show a gain after pork rinds just because all the sodium makes them retain water? Have you considered trying Atkins 72 induction for a few weeks just to get things moving?

James, I too love my long drives alone with my podcasts. I regularly make the 18 hour drive to see my kids and I love it..... But I hate long drives with other people. . Not my idea of fun.

Bonny, when does your cousin get there?

DQ, you're always off on a new adventure, but still manage to stay on plan! Very inspiring!

Post more tomorrow. So glad everyone is doing so well!

Oh,I can't remember who asked about the egg fast that Jimmy Moore talks about, but I have tried it. A lot of people have good results. I didn't really find that it did much for me, but maybe that's because it's not really very different for the way I already eat. I think it can be a great tool to help clean up your eating, get into ketosis, or lose your cravings. It obviously worked for him, he lost something like 27 pounds in 30 days, but I got the impression he hadn't been eating very clean immediately prior to that.

MGs sounds like you had a fantastic time. I am looking forward to some fun outside stuff when the grandbabies get here in a few weeks.

I am still taking in extra sodium with my bouillon about every other day. I do it to help prevent headaches. I also eat lots of pork rinds...... I will from now on I will count my blessings that for now this is not hindering weight loss. I am sure as I get closer to my goal and to healthier weights I will have to change things up.

Went out to eat with friends last night and had blackened chicken with bacon lots of extra bacon, on a wedge with blue cheese and dressing. OMG so wonderful. I brought home enough for dinner tonight as well. I got it all separated so it wouldn't get soggy to take home. The first thing I ask for nowadays is a togo box. Wish I had learned to do that year's ago.

Good morning everyone! The scale finally relented and I've hit ONEderland. I'm not going to celebrate quite yet because even though I've had those three days without a loss I still expect the upswing (though I really hope to avoid it...LOL)

On a sadder note, my poor son had a root canal on Friday, has been in excruciating pain since, went back to the dentist yesterday, they redrilled and said one of two things was going on, the temporary filling was expanding causing a lot of discomfort or there is a crack at the base of the tooth (under the gum so it can't be seen) in which case the only solution is an extraction. So, they re-rotor-rooted it, repacked it and he came home. Hours later he is in just as much pain, seems there must be a crack...back to the dentist we go for an extraction...sometime today that is. Poor kid!

I hate the dentist. So does he. LOL I spent so much money when he was a tot to take him to a specialist that would make his experience with a dentist as pleasant as possible, it worked until he got too old for a pediatric dentist, after just one visit to an adult dentist he now hates dentists. But, at least he didn't have a dental experience that I did when I was a kid which led to my extreme phobia now.

Anyway, have a great Tuesday everyone!

Morning All

Hi Sandy, Leanne, and congrats Candy on your onederland!!
Candy... did the dentist not take x-rays of the tooth??? Not only has your poor ds had to endure the root canal and now an extraction, but you paid twice now for his work? I'd be a little p***ed he missed that!!! No, I'd be REALLY p***ed he missed that!!!!

Mthergoos: Nice pics. Your babies must have had a great day! Boy, you sure sound like you're doing a lot of fun things lately!!! Are you more active or just more comfortable doing all these activities?? I find I go to be bed with a full, puffy stomach too when I drink pop or water all night but we know it's just fluid weight and nothing else but it sure can hold the scale at bay till it "flushes". I totally agree that I need that glass there or I might be looking for a snack. I hate to admit my smoking has almost doubled in the last few months but it might have more to do with my hand/mouth issues. I used to joke with my aunt how I'd probably be smoking more if I didn't snack all night and apparently that is exactly the case. One day I'll work on that "other" problem.

Have a great day everyone~~

I have my dr's apt today. I'm going to see if he'll also test for c-reactive protein. I had a cousin who dropped dead of a massive heart attack at the 46. She had been to the dr a week prior and her cholesterol levels were fine, everything was fine. Everything about me is pretty similar to her so this will hopefully give me some peace of mind.

Thanks for the info! I don't see how it would differ from what you are doing either. I've done the meat and egg fast. But it seems there's something magical about eggs only. I might try one day of it just to see. I haven't been eating any veggies the past couple of days so it shouldn't be that hard.

sorry for busting in on your group....but can I join in? I know there's not much left of May but want to get in on a group. I was part of a group last time I was here...but I can't find anyone left so I guess they've moved on.

Anyhow, what's the challenge? Or is it just basically keeping everyone accountable?

how often do you all check in with your weight? weekly or just monthly, or whenever you feel like you need to be accountable? Just wondering, I don't have a scale right now. I just use my moms whenever I go see her and remember to weigh myself. I like to only weigh on 1 scale that way it's consistent.

tcircle.

Most of us weigh every day on this particular thread as it's a necessary evil for our own accountability. Not everybody does. So welcome and tell us a little something about your journey, what woe you're on, etc......

Well, I have been on low carb before...mainly Atkins New Approach I guess....I allow myself green veggies from the beginning and cheese but no pre packed convenience foods. Then once I really get into it, I cut way back on the cheese. I've been successful in the past. The most successful I've been was losing about 30 lbs in 4 months, but I was in the military and deployed to an overseas base where there wasn't much to do but work and work out. It was almost like I pretended I was on The Biggest Loser. LOL

So anyhow, I got out of the military in 2008 and It has been a hard transition. I wouldn't call myself poor, but I've been through some financial problems, which caused me to gain weight because let's face it, eating bad can be cheap.

Now, I'm to a point in my life where I just want to IMPROVE myself. I realized that no one in life is going to care about me as much as ME. And also, I've watched my mother go through some very unhealthy things, and last September she had a form of gastric bypass, and she's losing now and getting off all her prescriptions, but I never want me to get to that point. Please no one be offended, I realize that for my mom, as with a number of other people, that surgery can be necessary. But, if I work hard at becoming healthy, I won't ever get to that point.

I am married with 2 biological kids and 3 step kids. We have custody of 1 of them, so I take care of 3 children daily. I have a dd who is 11, a step ds, 8 and a ds who is 2. I am busy with them!

And currently, I'm upset at myself because I've forgotten to buy more salsa, and that's how I eat my eggs for breakfast, with a spoonful of salsa. I hate eggs. But I'm learning to get past the texture and just eat them

Okay, grab a coffee Sandy, I've been at the cottage all weekend and didn't check in. Just spent an hour reading 4 pages to catch up Or should I call you Dr. Sandy? Holy crap, I can't believe you did that "surgery" on your daughter's arm, I'm glad it went well and she seems to be recovering -- she must have been desperate.

Tiggy, love all the info you provide. Skin Biology doesn't sell through stores either, just online, they also have Ferritin products for hair growth. Dr. Loren Pickard is the inventor and he tries to keep everything reasonably priced. It lasts for 6 months to a year, so I find it cost effective.

James, If my son makes Denver I'll definitely get you tickets, or when he plays in Denver if he's with anyone else! Congrats on your daughter's grad. I'm with you on the driving. I can drive for hours by myself or with my husband (4 hours to Michigan to watch my son play regularly) but throw my in-laws in the car and I gotta make conversation the whole way, and make bathroom breaks, and food breaks..... I grin and bear it but my husband knows I hate it...lol. My parents drive themselves, I think because they're just like me.

Candy -- way to go on 199!!!! Your dentist is an idiot if he didn't see a crack before he did the root canal, or maybe he cracked it while drilling. There are some wonderful dentists out there, but they do cost a fortune. We don't have a dental plan as we are self employed so I tend to put off going. Lucky my kids have decent teeth. Note to self: book checkups.

Bonny Jean, the night you had the hunger pangs and didn't cave and eat chips? I ate them for you. Three days of working my butt off at the cottage fixing our dock which got banged up by the ice (first time ever) and I consoled myself with wine, which led to sour cream and onion chips.... back on track today though. thank you for the Almond/Coconut milk suggestion. I love it and had the vanilla version in my tea this morning. 0 carbs and Yumm!

Paleo guy, your dog is adorable! Hope you had a good long weekend.

Leanne your photo is beautiful, I need that eraser/smudger thing in real life.

Kimber, so impressed with you going to that wedding and staying on plan. It really is a change in thinking that's required, and you seem to be doing it so well.

Nikki, still doing great I see, you and I are about the same weight give or take, so I'm always interested to see how you are doing with so little left to go.

Gracie, your photos of the lake weekend are lovely. My daughter's going to be going to school in Pittsburgh (Moon County) next year.

Waving to DQ, I always enjoy your posts too.

Welcome to Colleen and tcircle, you'll love it here

I think I got everyone, promise to check in more often now that I'm back home. I did find that all the garden work at the lake and fixing the dock allowed me to eat a little bit off plan and only gain 2 pounds over 4 days, probably water weight from the chips!

Being good again today. I've discovered canned corn beef, a childhood favourite of mine, is a great quick snack.

Have a great day everyone.
