Shelly, 24 years....CONGRATULATIONS, I hope you have a lovely day and evening with your hubby, steaks sound good.

Bonnie, thanks for that, I have never heard of diatomaceous earth, wow had to copy your word to even spell it lol, but I just researched it and it sounds great, I might try the beer and egg shells first as with the earth it said its hard to use if you live in a rainy region, we do get a fair bit of rain lol, I think it washes away, so will try the other two first and in a week and a half am popping back to the garden center so might pick some up then if the beer and egg shells haven't worked....really cool idea's though, thanks for that......is your patio looking a bit better, I think everything takes time for things to come together, the more you sit out there the more things will dawn on you as to what you need.

Kimber....I loved reading about the wedding and how good you were, and when you wrote about your hubby being one cigarette away from being a smoker and then you said you were one slice of bread away lol....that was really cool....you are doing amazing.

Sandy:
I had to copy the spelling too! I would try anything that's free first, the egg shells. Grind them up good though, smaller than a ladybug, about half that size actually. The fine shards in the dt earth shouldn't wash away but I'd confirm that at a nursery. Tell them what it's for but don't let them talk you into anything else. LOL. There's lots of home remedies, some work, some don't, of course but I found the egg shells work for lots of "slimy" critters cause they have soft bodies. Do you have a restaurant, nursing home etc that might be a good source of shells near you?? On this woe you should be eating your share of eggs though! LOL. Let me know what you try and how it works. Good luck hon.

Shelly, it sounds like you had a lovely evening, and steak again tonight...lovely.

Bonnie thanks for your help, going to try out egg shells tonight around one plant, and yeast and sugar water around another as an experiment, at the weekend I am going to try out beer, and then next week at the garden center will get that earth you told me about.

Today hot and sunny....only have to go out to town quickly and then its time to play in the dirt, sounds lovely.

Hope everyone has lovely losses and a great day.

So happy it stuck. I have 14 more pounds to lose to be at the highest end of my healthy weight. No problem I can do that!

I made chicken nuggets last night for dinner. Ground pork rinds cheddar cheese and parmesan with some spices. Dipped the chicken in egg then in mix and baked in the oven. I dipped mine in spicy mayo. The whole family really enjoyed these.

I gotta go get my dd ready for school but I was excited to see the scale. Thanks! I can do this! I will be thin again. I will continue this WOE. I will maintain!

Hi everyone, no internet yesterday (you never realize how much you use it until you can't! LOL) So, I'm reporting for two days...not that it matters...seems the scale is taunting me BIG TIME! LOL

May 1 - 207.2
May 2 - 206.6
May 3 - 206.2
May 4 - 206.0
May 5 - 204.8
May 6 - 204.4
May 7 - 204.0
May 8 - 204.2
May 9 - 204.6 FOOEY!
May 10 - 203.8
May 11 - 203.0
May 12 - 202.4
May 13 - 202.4
May 14 - 202.2
May 15 - 201.0
May 16 - 201.0
May 17 - 200.0
May 18 - 200.0
May 19 - 200.0

I'm going to beat this scale....I swear it. I usually don't gripe too much over the ups/downs but this is an outright, in-your-face, absolutely MEAN trick the scale is playing!

Happy Monday everyone, so starts the week! Boss-man is on vacay all week so I should get a lot done!

I'm officially cured of Pizza Hut wings and will just be making my own from now on. My youngest daughter has been sick so I had my dh just order wings for me. I ordered some parmesan garlic traditional wings and then the plain traditional wings. The parmesan garlic was undercooked slightly....you didn't know until you bit into the wing and saw blood around the bone. The plain wings ended up being the boneless breaded chicken. My oldest daughter was happy with the mistake.

Every time I make my own wings, I end up disappointed, lol. I keep trying though!

Just checking in. I've been remiss in posting. My May went well - down about 5 lbs so far. But I still haven't done a clean induction. Eating very clean, but still determined to do it right this time.

Have today all planned and it should be a great day 1.

What's everyone eating today?

Morning All

Shelly: Hope you had a great anniversary and good for you for not eating the whole steak, don't know how big it was of course, but I have a hard time putting any steak away!! LOL.

James: I too am not a road warrior. I'm good for about 2 hrs and that's it for me!! Hope the graduation was a good one. How could it not be watching your kid graduate!

Leanne: I knew you'd make it stick. Atta girl.

Candy: Onederland is any day now!! Hang in there. It will happen!! Geez, I get nothing done when the boss is away! LOL.

BulldogMom: Wow, 5 lbs in less than 3 wks......... awesome!

Sandy: Kind of sacrilegious to waste good beer on bugs!!! I can't talk though cause once I bought a 6 pack to put on the lawn sprinkler to thatch the lawn so I think it's a better investment to get rid of slugs and I have heard it works.

Looks like rain today so I might just go hang out at the garden center. Me and ds got the umbrella together yesterday and that really makes a difference, now to put some plants in the pots I just bought. Hopefully will get that front sidewalk changed in the next month or so. Can't believe I'm now paying twice to have it done! So much for references from co-workers, eh!! Looks like me and cous are gonna be blessed with some awesome weather when our vaca starts next Thurs. Yay, can't wait!!
I hope you all (well the Cdn's) have a wonderful holiday (Victoria Day up here). May the Atkins force be with you today.

Down 5 lbs without clean induction is pretty darn good, I'd say.
Just think how well things might go when you try it for a while! Thank goodness that I have an almost bland palate that doesn't require many spices or flavouring/s. I'm quite content with my wings and thighs just pan fried in coconut oil with some Montreal Steak Spice!! That works for me!

Today's menu will be:

3 c coffee w/Silk Coconut Milk
2 eggs with 4 sl bacon
10 oz bbq'd prime rib steak for supper (little bigger than normal)
3 gl caffeine free diet coke
and that's it for my day... pretty much the same everyday other than switching evening meats up. Have a great day, dear.

I need my spices, Bonny-Jean - I'm an addict lol. Thanks for the encouragement and the menu! I kind of feel like I "got away" with it for May, but I do battle cravings and I know I will feel better if I make it to clean eating.

Shelly, Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you and your dh had a wonderful time together!

Sheila, I've never had the muscle cramps thank goodness! I've had them in the past for other reasons but never while LCing.

Bonny-Jean, Slugs are nothing but homeless snails. Have some compassion. LOL I'd want to live in your beautiful garden too. And you're right, what's up with our sticky scales?!

Sandy, Thanks for asking about the hair situation. Its so odd, my hair on my head is falling out but my mustache is coming in nicely. LOL I go to the dr tomorrow and I probably will go on and make an appointment with the dermatologist too.

Leanne, Great job! That chicken sounds good!

Candy, That scale is teasing you! I'm sure you'll be in onederland this week. If not, throw that scale off the nearest cliff for lying.

Portia, Great job on your May losses! Dh bought a little fry daddy so making my own wings has been a lot easier. Once they're done, I just pour a little butter and garlic salt on them. I was adding parmesan cheese but it didn't really do much for the flavor so I just left it off.

You make me chuckle! Maybe I should tell Sandy to send them all my way. I could eat escargot EVERY DAY!!!! I know... LOL.

Shelly: You're freaking me out a little about maintenance!!!! Can I be so forward as to ask what a average day menu is like for you??? Have you noticed one or more foods that aren't working for you?? Although it looks like
my last 20 lbs or so are gonna take 4 mons or more, I will get there and I'm really nervous about slowly adding fruits and what not???

Good morning! We ended up staying at the lake until this morning and driving home early. It was such a nice weekend. The weather was a little bit cold but friends of ours rented a house for the week and they had a hot tub. The kids loved it! I actually left my oldest 2 there and I'm going to go back and pick them up tomorrow night. They are off school tomorrow so I figured, what the heck, let them take off today. My eating was OK but I did partake in some light beers yesterday. I was in bed by 10 pm so it wasn't that horrible. I am tired today though.

I need to go back and read what's been going on. It's hard for me to check in once summer hits because we spend our weekends at the lake. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Here's a pic of me and friends yesterday.

Hello! One week in..

Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday!

I'm Colleen, 45, a happily married, stay at home Mom to 5 really great kids ( 8,7,5,3,1).

I have done LC twice in the past with very good success. I am holding onto too many extra lbs since the birth of my daughter last May.

Last week on Mother's Day, I decided it was time to give my kids (and myself) a great Mother's day present and get to a healthy weight again. I started LC last Monday and generally follow the Atkins 72 WOE, as it's simple, and very easy for me to stick to with my busy family schedule. I eat a lot of meat, eggs, cheese, and fats along with a few salads and my veggie of choice, broccoli.

I have lost 8 lbs this first week, and while I know it's probably mainly water weight, it's still encouraging.

I applaud all your wonderful successes and reading your posts inspire me.

Princessmommy...we have similar stats in terms of age, height and weight and ultimate goal. Congrats on your success so far!

Have a blessed day!!!

Squirrel.. ......... that reminds me.........

SANDY.... have you got that fishing rod out yet???

Colleen!!!

Shelly: Well, except for that bar and the rinds, everything looks good. No fruit yet or have you gone back to Induction?? Above and beyond your woe, you did kick an incredible nicotine habit and that's monumentous! I think I mentioned before that my dr. told me that everybody can count on 5-10 lb weight increase when not smoking as he said something about blood cells filling with oxygen and I know that sounds silly cause does oxygen weigh anything?? LOL. Anyway, he did say that when smoker's start a weight loss program they are probably 5-10 heavier than the scale actually reads. Hmm, don't know if he's just blowing smoke (no pun intended) or there's something to it. Please don't be too upset cause you've worked so hard and done so well. Sometimes when we stop obsessing over things, we relax and set ourselves up for surprises. I got your back Shelly and crossing my fingers that things work out like you want. All the best my girl!!

Happy Victoria Day

Afternoon Folks,
Ahhhh, coming to the close of a long weekend here. Haven't been out in the woods this weekend, would seem all my buddies were occupied & I can't justify the gas $$$
Did some tests on the cardio machines Saturday; got a good sweat going but have no idea if the results mean I'm in horrible shape or not
My DW found a muffin top pan! Unfortunately it rang in at $20 bucks
Can't wait to give a try
Did my good deed this morning while walking Gunner; picked up all the expended munitions from around our dog crater.
Off to the Y again this afternoon before they close: weights & hopefully a few laps of the pool.
Enjoy the rest of the day folks
P.S uploading another pic of our 'hairy baby' with a treat.

Absolutely!!! You would LOVE where we have our trailer. It's called Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. It's about an hour and 40 minutes from my house. I want to retire there someday.

Here are a few pics. The one of the bear was right near our campground. People build this garbage contraptions to keep the bears out. Well, my husband was driving in the morning to get coffee and a newspaper and saw the bear open the contraption and starting looking for breakfast!!!

CdnPaleoGuy ~ What a cute puppy!! I had to get a stress test done a couple years ago and thankfully all came back good. I was having a pain near my breastbone and it ended up being acid reflux. Hope your results are good!

Gracie we've had 2 bears in Our yard Lol! One was when I was preg with my dd (14 yrs ago) and it ate all the dogs food off our front Porch! 3 yrs ago we had a cub in the tree right outside my dd Bedroom window! It was So cute!

Bonny should I get rid of the rines for now? No on the fruit. I am going back to induction like levels! I gotta!

Stress Test?

Gracie514: our 'puppy' is 10 this August For some strange reason, lots of people think he's still a youngster.
That looks like a small bear looking thru the dumpster for breakfast. Must of surprised the next campers bringing out their garbage eh?
I didn't take a stress test; the cardio machines at the gym have various programs that you can use. I picked the 'test' mode; I guess you could say it would be similiar to a stress test.
Did your acid reflux go away when you cut back on wheat?
PrincessMommy: did you check the carb count on the Atkin's bar? Their not all low carb like you would hope/expect....

I love watching the bears but from FAR AWAY We had cubs at our campground last year. They had to catch the mom in this huge steel pipe thing and then they made all these loud noises and fireworks to scare her to not come back. They drove her across the mountaiin and dropped her off. They put a tracker on her and she did indeed come back for her cubs. But she left with them and they tracked her to the other side of the mountain. I found it really fascinating that after the fireworks/noises she left and never came back. I guess it really scares them.

My acid reflux comes and goes now. Coffee is usually the biggest culprit but I can't seem to stop. I get it from cucumbers something horrible. Oh, and lettuce bothers me as well. And BEER I just have to be careful. I was on Nexium for a while and the side effects of that were worse than the acid reflux!
