The revolution rolls were I believe in the original Atkins 72 book. I sub out cottage cheese for mayo.

3 eggs
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbs mayo (or cottage cheese, or sour cream, or cream cheese)
1 packet splenda

You separate the whites from the yolks and put in 2 separate bowls. You add the cream of tartar to the whites. Then you add the mayo, splenda, and I add a little vanilla to the yolks.

Beat the whites until they are stiff - usually 3 minutes. Then mix the yolk mixture. Take a spatula and fold the yolk mixture into the whites. Then place on baking sheet covered in parchment paper or sprayed really good with non-stick spray. Make 6 mounds about 2" high. Cook on 300 deg. for about 30 minutes.

I also make a savory one where instead of splenda I add salt and some shredded parmesan cheese. They are really good and induction friendly. I use them for sandwiches, toast, and desserts. Once I used sugar-free raspberry preserves on them with whipped cream I've also seen people who add a spoonful of cream cheese on the top and it makes a danish.
Here you go!!!

Good morning and TGIF!!!

Bonny ~ she said that I didn't have an ear infection but some kind of fusion/fission/fissure SOMETHING like that She said it was caused from all the sinus pressure and build up. She said it may turn into an ear infection though. I do have a sinus infection but I guess that's not bacterial? The nasal spray I have is something like Fluctinose - not sure if that's the same as what you suggested? It seems to be helping...

I braved the scale this morning and I'm at 200.0 exactly. Very frustrating because I've been perfect on plan but I know the meds/sickness are to blame. My ear still hurts a bit. I got the 1972 book in the mail yesterday and read the whole thing It was a good read and really suggests eating when you are hungry and not worrying about calories. There are some good recipes too.

Everyone have a fabulous Friday!

Hey Gracie: hope this clears up fast. I had raging sinus / ear problems for a few years and got hooked on Dristan and Otrivin and a dr. prescribed Flonase which has cortisone steroids in it, as do most prescription nasal sprays but I went from 6-8 squirts of Otrivin a day to 1 of Flonase and every month less and less and in one year never used anything again? Haven't had a problem in over 10 yrs now.
That FLONASE was a blessing for me!!

Yeah, I can relate. I actually had surgery last July for sinus issues. I'll have to figure out if the Flonase is the same as the fluticonose or whatever I have. If not I will call and request it. Thanks for the recommendation I get miserable when all my sinus issues start.

Gracie, My head cold is messing with my weight too. As frustrating as it is, don't worry about the scale right now. Keep eating on plan and feel better. Maybe at the end of this , we'll both get a nice little whoosh.

Kimber, I think we've all had those food dreams. LOL But you're doing fantastic with your losses!

MtherGoos, Wow!!! No wonder you're getting flirted with! I love your new pic!

Candy, I've been bouncing around the same pound for 4 days now too. Maybe its something in the water? LOL Hang in there and we'll get that scale moving again.

Cudabear, I love your new avatar! You're so beautiful!

Congrats to all of the losers!!

Girly37, I know you were wondering what would make a quick and easy meal. I came across this recipe yesterday on another thread and tried it out. It was pretty good, but of course, I've been deprived of real brownies for a while now. The next time I make these, I'm going to try a zero carb protein powder. I had to use my dh's which had 11 carbs total (6 net) for 2 scoops. I also need to look up what the equivalent of liquid splenda is to 1/2 cup powdered splenda.

Protein Brownies

2 eggs
2.5 scoops protein powder
2 tbls unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sweetener

Melt butter then add eggs, cocoa powder, protein powder and sweetener. Mix well and pour into a 6x6 baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake at 325 for 15-20 min.

Candy: don't sweat the ounces. The pounds are going and that's all that counts. Some scales don't even show the decimal so no worries!

Kimber: nice job there! Your doing amazing. Just think where you'll be next month!

Shelly: have you found any new foods that are stalling you or is there something that spikes the scale?? Is there a food you know you can't have regularly anymore? The thought of maintenance kinda scares me.

Thank you! I am going to start tweaking the diet today, the scale went up a little and I really think sausage, bacon, and hot wings may have not been the right combination on the same day lol! Too much sodium I think. Today I started a bit lighter with an egg white omelette & a little cheese. I am planning on some egg drop soup for lunch & some sort of cut of meat for my third meal...we will see what the scale prevails tomorrow! Again these threads are really so helpful, a lot more knowledge than the books in a lot of ways!

I don't have DANDR so I'm not sure. The 72 version is very simple. You can as much as you want as long as it's on the approved list. He says not to worry about calories, just carbs. You want to keep your carbs as close to zero as possible for the first week or two and then if you want start adding 5-8 carbs per day. He recommends journaling everything you are adding to see if it causes a gain. There are a lot of Atkins products and low-carb products in the stores now but I'm not sure if he would approve. The diet seems very pure - meat, eggs, 4 oz. cheese, mayo, oils, zero calorie sweetener, sugar free jello, heavy whipping cream.. NO ALCOHOL He says alcohol stops weight loss in it's tracks until it's all burned off. It can 2-4 days He also says it should work for everyone. He also talks a lot about hypoglycemia and says most everyone has it to some degree. I definitely recommend the book, it's an eye opener!

Oh, and there weren't NET CARBS back then. I know for me I can't lose counting net carbs.

I know I'm swollen. My nose looks like it did when I was pregnant! My sinuses are very irritated. I want to throw the scale out the window But then I know I'd be outside looking around the woods tomorrow to find it.

You all are such inspirations ... wow. some of your losses .. I dream of those.
It has fillers and those other things in it... anyhow. Upset this morn. My ketone sticks are showing medium ketosis. I have lost nothing in three days. I have been doing 72 and not cheated . All I can think of its my sweet n low pack. So now drinking tea without it. I should be dropping at least 4 oz a day of weight on 72. UGH UGH Ugh. (stomping foot too)

Nurses week is finally over. Now we can get back to normal. That is until CNA week. I worked out harder than I ever had any week prior to this week and I have to say. My body is TRASHED. I feel like a 4 year old girl. Two days off should fix it.

I doubt I way the same but my body is changing yet again and I am still wearing the same uber cool jeans so I guess I am doing OK. I might get on the scale tomorrow and do the body fat thingy.

I am planning on trying a scotch and soda tonight. Why? Because I have never had one and I want to know what it tastes like.

candypickletoes – Don’t you know Lady Bugs pee on you when they land on you?

aline58 – You will not be in Ketosis until your liver and muscles are void of carbs. You can get there by 1. Not eating carbs, and 2. Some kind of Cardio. Whether you continue to work out after is up to you but it will get you there quicker.
Also eat a lot of fat.
Keto sticks are about the same where ever I go. Someone recommended you cut them in half to get twice as much use out of them. I agree with that.

MtherGoos – I hope you figure out the hunger thing. It was killing me and I did increase my intake to try and counter it.

Alergy sufferers – I too am an advocate for Flonase. I have to use name brand. Generic does not work for me. Gracie514 I think you have the generic

I have had fun with my maintenance week but am now to close to 150, its been interesting seeing what I can have and what makes the weight go up, so I need to get a bit lower in the 140's before I have another go at it...., so back to A72 for me, its a whole learning process that I think is going to take me a while to figure out.
Hope everyone has a great weekend with losses this morning.

Having major stress at work right now. Stress is what usually causes me to go back to the carbs. I'm determined that I am not going to medicate with carbs---I KNOW that doesn't make me feel any better now and definitely not later once I've gained all my weight back! I will not let this sabotage me!!

It doesn't help that I'm not getting much sleep at night. I fall asleep just fine but then something wakes me up and I can't fall back to sleep. This has been going on now for about 6 months. I'm lucky if I get 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night

Enough of the negative!! I'm going to focus on the positives

Hope everyone has great losses today!!

Okay, so I tried the Netrition bagels I bought and no offense to anyone who likes them but oh my goodness were they horrible to me! I'm very much a texture eater and on bite 3 I was gagging. I'd much rather go without bread (or use revolution rolls/oopsie bread) than to suffer through eating another one of those. I'm only sorry I spent $8 on them. I am glad that they satisfy some folks craving for bread-like products though.

It's sissy-date day! Yay, heading to Harper's Ferry for a wonderful day of walking, hiking, and shop-hopping.

This week has been awful for losses. Somebody better give up that whoosh fairy, because I need her! LOL My daughter fixed me a snack plate at her school in honor of Mother's Day. So I ended up eating two giant strawberries and passed on the goldfish crackers and oreos. They played a game where the kids had answered questions about their moms before we all got there. Then the teachers read the answers out loud and the moms had to guess if it was them that they were talking about. One of the answers was, "this mom's favorite food is bacon and eggs".... I knew she was talking about me. LOL
