3rd day of induction. Dry mouth already. I think I'm on the way!

After my last annual checkup (coming off a Disney trip and cruise), my labs were not pretty. High cholestorol and Triglicerides in the mid 300's. Doc said I needed to take action immediately.

So, I dusted off my copy of "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" and read up on the plan.

After 3 days of low carb eating, lots of water (and lots of peeing), I'm pretty sure I'm in ketosis. My mouth feels dry and metallic. Scale shows I've dropped 5 pounds since I started.

Here's the menu I've been following (mostly fast food thus far):

Breakfast: 2 eggs mixed with grated cheese in a bowl. Microwave 1 minute.

Lunch: McDonalds bacon chicken ranch salad with balsamic vinagrette dressing. Really surprised how good this salad is.

Dinner: Grilled chicken salad (I've done Zaxbys and Chick Fil-a - Zaxbys is the best by far)

Water: Lots of it. And I'm peeing constantly. Good thing is that my pee is crystal clear now that I've dropped my diet coke habit.

Snacks: Nuked pepperoni chips & pork rines.

What I miss the most: Fruit juices and fruits. Chocolate with my coffee.

Looking forward to my followup visit in a few days to retest my labs and prepare for the next phase.

Congratulations on the great start. Three days in is fully in to my way of think.
What's the carb count on the balsamic vinagrette?

Its "Newman's Own" brand. 3g of carbs

Forgot to include my coffee. So glad I can still have my morning coffee. I have a Tassimo machine and use Gevalia Signature Crema coffee pods.

For breakfast (and after dinner), I have 1 cup of coffee with about a teaspoon of milk (Horizon brand 0% milk)

I also use Newman's Own on my chicken/spinach salad and my Ketone sticks are still purple so I think its a safe Induction friendly choice.
