Morning All

I guess I'll hope for a whopping 8 pounds!! Haven't made 8 in the last 4 months so we'll see. March wasn't bad but only made 7, Feb was 6. Still have 3' of snow in the yard and sidewalks are icy and lumpy so no walking yet.

OMG all, just from the first few posts everyone is still losing!!! March must have been great. I left the boards due to health issues, but what they thought might have been my heart was just an injury to exercise. Pulled muscle/chest cavity wall. All tests came out negative (after a false positive stress test - scary) also spent the night in the ER cause pains got so bad. But I got the ok to start exercising again and i'm going back on my diet. Haven't been eating right for two or more weeks, however, the pounds are holding steady. Got my original atkins book in the mail yesterday and i'm going to start reading it full force to refresh why i'm not losing. My coworker said the other day, we are all busting our a++++s and not losing, she was looking at some old pictures and we were chowing down on take out and all of us were skinny!!!! lol. well, we each had a kid since then. lol. Things aren't like they were when I was 35 and losing, i'm 41 now and have to figure this out.

My April goal. To stay on track, to get some sleep, to figure out what works for me to lose. Good luck! will weigh today at the gym.

I will join! I also started one under low carb Challenges (10 weeks of no cheating if anyone wants to join)
I started yesterday and lost 2.2 with the plan under there.

Use a blood ketone monitor

Any loss this month will be a win for me. First time back at gym in 2 weeks and I lost a pound. LOL need to go to the grocery store to plan my meals so I don't stray. Looking forward to not being hungry and getting back on my low carb mission.

Hey can I join you guys? I've haven't been here in a long time. My goal this month would be five pounds. I can give a start weight tomorrow. I didn't weigh in today. I'm doing LC and trying IF. I need to lose 25-28 pounds. At my age, though, I also have to keep calories in mind.

P.S. Wow - I just looked at my stats and it says "Last 10". That is really sad cause I've gained twenty since posting that. Wow that is a real downer.

Good Morning Everyone! Nice to see so many people starting off April with us! I know this will be a great month!!

I would LOVE to see the 150's this month. That would be amazing for me. I haven't seen the 150's in more years than I can remember. Of course, I haven't seen 164 in that many years either, but I would still love to get into the 150's. My losses are extremely slow at this point, so I'll try and be happy with whatever I get, but I would be thrilled to see that 159 on the scale.

I'll continue to stay on plan and continue to exercise every day. Thought about making some tweaks, but not really sure what I would do differently?????

Trini, always great to see you lady! And so happy to know that maintenance is going so well for you. Can't wait to be there!!!!

Here's an UpDay

2 cups coffee with HWC

Breakfast:
Flaxseed One Minute Muffin
3 oz Fage yogurt
1/4 cup blueberries

I take lots of supplements. I also eat cheese sticks for extra protein on plasma donation days, and after my donation I drink a Kombucha tea and take some raspberry ketones to replenish the ketones they have sucked out of me. Otherwise I go out of ketosis.

Anyhow, had a nice surprise at work this morning: had to cinch up the belt again. Too bad I didn't make it where I started off
Off to the YMCA tomorrow so will check the scales then.
I guess my gentle advice to add some weights to your exercise routines fell on deaf ears

Mthgoos....fingers and toes are crossed for you on those 150's....what a way you have come...its incredible...I am blown away by my tiny losses lol...when I look at yours I wonder how you have done it....

No no Paleo Guy, I did hear you, I promise! I just have no idea where to start with weight training to tell you the truth. And whatever I do has to be at home. We work until 7 every night, then go home, have dinner, clean the kitchen, and by the time I hit the treadmill it's usually after 8. The last thing I want to do after work and dinner is go to a gym. So it has to be doable at home, and I'm just not sure where, or how, to effectively start. I don't want to just randomly be swinging kettle bells around and doing more harm than good. KWIM? However, I'm definitely open to suggestions if you can tell me how to get started???? And CONGRATS and the belt going down a notch!!!! That's awesome!!!!

Sandy, you had great losses last month!!! I'm pretty sure your losses blew mine away last month. At this point, I'm just plodding along. LOL

Well here we are it’s April.
I tried to post this earlier but today was very long and hectic. I am now done with my day, on plan, on workouts.

Went up .7 this morning and I have eaten the same diet so I am more confident in saying that if you tear muscles you gain weight. I am assuming its water weight that is used in the healing process. I will definitely stay cardio till I am at the point that I want to build. Last night was an accident. I need to learn how to read better. And BTW everything hurts. That little singing lady is the devil.

I just learned that the wife is not doing the gym tonight so I can do whatever class I was and I am thinking hot tub followed by steam room after. I love alone time. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Since I did not get a chance to post this I can update. I did the yoga thing and then soaked in the hot tub then the steam room. The steam room felt great in my throat. It’s so raw from a hay fever issue and I almost list my voice talking so much today.
I have given more thought about this month’s goals than I have ever previously. Mine are very specific and one is a little extreme but I might just be able to pull it off.

April Goals

1. Be in the weight that is considered fat level not obese i.e. under 170
2. Measure 28% body fat or less
3. Have a BMI of 29 or lower
4. Be able to fit in my expensive awesome jeans which are a 34 I believe.
5. Weight 165 because…. Why not.
6. Retire my big belt.

Anyway I will make a quick and easy something for everyone this month. Then we can request check-ins for accountability.

luvleliz – I am 40 approaching 41 quickly and my numbers were not impressive until 1. MtherGoos – gave some sage advice and 2. I actually read induction as written in the book. Now with the exception of last night I always lose every day and sometime it is a ridiculous number so get to reading!

CdnPaleoGuy – I too slipped down to my last notch on my big belt so soon I can go to my smaller belt.

Morning All

Colorado lows keep coming up here and burying us in snow. Eastern Cda got it last week and northern Ontario yesterday. Worst winter ever!!
Got my first rise on the scale in a month and although I'm not pleased, I'm not surprised. I wonder if it's a sodium blip from kolbasa and/or pepperoni sticks?? I thought they might be okay for morning protein but maybe too many fillers and salt??? Even opted for water last night rather than coffee but I guess that didn't work??

Mthergoos:March 28th you mentioned something about adding things back such as almond milk. Can I ask why you're not using it now?? If I could get past the taste, I believe it's the healthiest liquid on earth. It's low in EVERYTHING, including only 1 carb in a whole cup. I'm just asking cause I'm wondering if I'm missing something about it?? I so wish I could replace the hwc with this stuff, it sure is chock full of viteys and minerals, low in fat and calories, etc, etc.
