Ugh, lost all my first post. Anyway, morning Sandy. Of course you can stay with us. Wouldn't want it any other way. We don't discriminate here. LOL.
You're pretty quiet Sandy.... you okay???

Had typed up some stuff and for whatever reason it didn't save so here I go again. I was asking about converting to OWL when I hit goal but am very scared when I see that a bite of this or that will up the scale a whole pound overnight!! Whether it's water or not, is there a rule that we will all gain a little something when we try to slowly slip out of induction??? Obviously it doesn't take much to see a gain! Is there an "adjustment" gain that's gonna happen no matter what we do??

On another note: I'm negotiating a new car but it happens to be a 12 hr drive away. Not something I'm looking forward to on the Prairies in March!! Couldn't ignore the low asking price with a mileage of 900!!! I sent them 2 offers thru email last night. One is OVER asking price but must include a nose cover, all taxes and admin fees and DELIVERY of the vehicle. Not sure how that's gonna go but will find out in 5 hrs!!!

Well, with spring right around the corner for some of you "Southener's", I hope you can get out more, enjoy the sunshine and get moving again. I can't wait!! I'm am wishing for all of us a very productive month!! Good luck, everyone.

Good morning Boonyjean, funny how we are the first one's up lol, well I know why I am but it must be around 7 in the morning where you are...you are an early riser I reckon.....yhea I am fine, sometimes I find there are so many posts that I want to reply to that in the end I just don't lol....you are all so interesting that I sit here continually saying to myself, oh I know and yes that is amazing lol, anyhow I am glad I can stay on this thread as I feel like I know you all now, although when I read through the whole of January when I was lurking I felt like I knew you all then as well.
That happened to me as well last week I kept losing my posts, it was like there was something wrong with their server, I found that the earlier in the morning the worst it was, maybe they do maintenance overnight which is daytime here.
So a new car is on the horizon whoop whoop, that is exciting, is it another convertible, I think once you have had one you can never go back to a regular car...I know I can't, ours is weird though as although its a convertible it has a hard top which when you press the button it slowly goes into the trunk, but its a real hard top, its really odd, I have only ever had a soft top before....I haven't played much with it as we only got it at the end of the summer and its rained a lot here, but I am looking forward to lots of fun when the weather gets hot.....so going back to your car...does this mean the insurance people are doing what you wanted....
Ok well I guess that will teach you to ask why I am quiet lol....

LOL. I guess we'll chat till everyone else wakes up. Not sure what's going on but that's two mornings I've been up around 3 am. Yesterday was leg cramps, this morning was coughing. Ugh.

My insurer decided to fix which I would have preferred a write off just to save me the hassle of selling it myself. I need a convertible cause I'm always renovating something or landscaping something and a truck, although more practical for my needs, sometimes just has too many cons so I'll stick with the rag tops!! I can convert a convertible to a truck but not the other way around so the convertible wins!! Now to find one!! It's either a '13 Chrysler 200 or a '13 Ford Mustang. Oh, I wish I could afford a Chevy Camaro! Now that's a nice car but I'm not the Queen's sister, eh!!

Sounds exciting...I love shopping lol.....shame the insurers wouldn't change their minds...yes we have dragged so much stuff home over the years in our other convertible, they do come in handy don't they...much more fun than a truck...I love the word rag tops lol....I wish I knew what both those cars looked like....oh hang on my last one in Canada was a Chrysler sebring......ohhhh though mustang sounds pretty cool.....

Good morning you two....aren't we the early birds....I have had a cold or something for the last 2 or 3 days but feel a lot better other than a sore throat so maybe today will be more productive. I just want to say how much I appreciate you guys!!! Having all of you to report to each morning gives me incentive. Maintenance seems so far away for me that I can't even think about how that will go....or when that may be. One day at a time I guess and see what the next day brings....

Hello all. Took me 10 minutes to find this thread, I had just kept the February tab open on my iPad all month and didn't realize it was under "Induction" until I hit "back" a few times! Oh well, if I'm not staying at induction levels I guess I shouldn't be here, but I will pop in to see how everyone continues to do. Bonny Jean good luck with the car negotiations, you have to be so careful these days, especially over the internet. And a 200 or a Mustang? Either one will be beautiful. I also have a convertible hubbv bought me for Mother's Day last year, a 1990 Mercedes SL500. Ice Blue. What a surprise. I think if I put anything in it he'd kill me. It's his baby, even though he says it's my car. It's in storage for the winter and boy do I miss it. I drive a minivan all winter and whenever I need to get more than one person in the car with me in the summer -- all part of my HockeyMum title of course. I will be back to less than 20 carbs, heck might even try for less than 10 for the next few days, so I can stay here legally for a while, right?

Good morning all!

My March goals are:

1.) Get to my 50lb loss bench marker.
2.) Get out of the 200s, and stay out.
3.) Lose at least 6 lbs.

03/01- 203.6

Spring is here. Let's do this!!

Good Morning Everyone! As Trini said, we're all more like family here, it doesn't matter what your carb level is, so nobody go anywhere! We all depend on each other to stay on track and be accountable to.

I'm at 170.2 this morning, so down just .2. I'm really hoping to get to 166 this month and be out of the "Obese" category finally. My losses are definitely slower, but I do find that I'm not letting it get to me too much when the scale isn't moving. I'm exercising now, and I'm seeing changes in my body even when the scale isn't moving.

Trini, I love your new picture! You look so amazing and I'm so very proud of you!

Bonny, YAY on the new car!!!! I love the Mustangs. We've got a Challenger and I LOVE it, but a Mustang would have been my second choice. Let us know how the negotiations go!

Oh, Bonny, I forgot. I've been worried about maintenance too. With 20 pounds to go, I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer, and I'm getting worried about how I will maintain when I do get there. In my head, I have a plan, but I don't know if it will work out in reality. Really, I don't see maintenance as being much different than I eat now, other than that I plan to add in more veggies. Not many, as I really don't like them, but a few things. Mushrooms, onions, garlic, green beans. That's about it. Otherwise, I think maintenance will pretty much be the same as what I'm doing now.

Hi Mthergoos, and Bonny, Don't worry about maintenance I know you can do this...just take it one day at a time, I think from my point of view I wanted a healthy life style so to me it meant lower carbs, I want for me to be able to maintain a certain weight because I feel better about myself and move a lot easier at this weight, and I don't want to buy new clothes, hahahaha..lol..
I just check the scale and l've given that five lbs flexibility, I do go over the 5 by ONE, and right away I cut back for three days, I find that works for me, so I know you will be great...
I just added back the things I really love like more vegetation and fruits...just I stay away from process white foods of any kind..
I am here for you girls like our are always here for me.

Here we go March is finally here. By now the weak that start dieting in January have fallen, you can actually use a machine at the gym because people have figured out that working out is HHAARRRRDDD.
This month I will have a few perceived challenges. One family birthday which I think will be easy to get around and I think we are going to Blackhawk (a Casino town) for either a day or overnight. I expect both will be no prob for me with a little planning.
My goals this month are three. 1. Exercise at least three days a week. 2. Weight no more than 175 and 3. Fit properly in my smaller dress pants. I can get them on but it make my hip area look like an elephant the way the pockets jet out the sides.

Bonny-Jean I don’t know what world you live inn but this is when we are in HUGE blizzard time. The kind of snow that breaks trees etc. And I don’t envy you buying a car. Every time I sign that note I feel like I want to throw up. If I ever buy a house I probably will have to be admitted to the hospital. I vote the Chrysler. Classy. The mustang that I drove for a week looked good but I could not see over the hood, the tires squealed in the first three gears because the engine was so strong, and was way louder than I like.

Sandy I used to own a Mazda Miata which has to be the most fun car I owned to drive. But in the 10 years or so I owned it I had to replace several radios, tops etc due to hood rats breaking in my car. The last 2 years I left absolutely nothing in it, not even registration and never locked the doors but still someone cut the top open to open the unlocked door. So the hard top version would be the way to go. I personally stick with sun roofs for now. Though when I sell my motorcycle this year I will probably want a convertible again.

arb34 you are so close to the 100’s kick it hard this week and you can get there!

As far as this being on the induction thread I think it is right where it should be. I feel like if you are in induction and others are there to support you that is good, and while doing this people further along and not in induction will shed a light on what life after induction is like since so many never really lake that transition. Seems most hard, loose the weight, then go back to their old way of eating then come back etc etc. I never properly have gone through the steps as far as testing foods and learning what my CCL is so I am looking forward to doing it right when the time comes. Which is most definitely no now.

So I suppose I should get off my butt and get some weekend chores done. I feel that familiar 1st day after your first major work out soarness setting in when I dont keep moving. Ohh look its snowing.

I started Induction 10 days ago. I've been doing well although the scale moves very slowly. I lost 3 pounds the first week. I think it's because I was gluten free before this WOE and was limiting carbs to under 75 per day.

Here's my typical day menu:

Breakfast: coffee with hwc (3 tbsp)
Lunch: eggs (3 fried in butter)
Snack: sf jello with whipped cream
Dinner: meat (roast, ground beef, chicken) and a salad.
Snack: cheese cheddar (2oz)

I actually dropped the coffee the last few days....making me really jittery. So just drinking water.

Haven't been exercising....stupid plantars facilitis...hoping weight loss will help.

Thoughts?

I guess I should put my weight on here. After not eating properly yesterday when finished cleaning the pigsty, I think the shortbread cookies in my tea did me in. I was 133.5 this morning. I'm trying so hard to see 125 again, so that will be my March Challenge. I do think exercise makes a difference to my losses. I worked my butt off yesterday and then ate stuff I really shouldn't have last night, but was only up that half a pound this morning. I am usually very active but HATE to do formal exercise. I paint glassware for a part time income and so tend to spend hours sitting at my desk, especially with wedding season coming I'm booked solid. I think that is why I'm so stuck -- I'm sitting all the time. I will commit to get on my Pilates machine 2-3 times a week this month, and thanks to Gypsy I am doing squats every morning while blowdrying my hair, only up to 30 a day so far but my thighs are burning and it's better than the 0 a day I was doing before! I admire those of you who've found an exercise that you can stick to. My husband works out every day, both my kids are on the ice every day and workout almost as much, so I'd really like to surprise them by getting toned up this spring. I know 133 pounds doesn't sound like a lot to some of you with lots more to lose, but it's still probably 15 pounds of fat layered on that shouldn't be here as I'm pretty small framed. What do you ladies and gents eat when you get a craving for something sweet? I know the cravings pass, but once in a while it's be nice to have something chocolate.

Can I join in the challenge too?

Hi everyone, I am on day 4 of induction, doing 20 g. Carbs a day or less. My weight today was 183, I'm 5'7" and 48 y.o.
A little about me... I have been on these boards off and on since 2009. My highest weight 211 did hhcg and lost down to 165. Maintained for a while but it was a struggle and I let the food control me after losing my job, my brother and mom getting breast cancer all in 3 months... That was in 2010. So went back on and off the hcg since then, but never got below 170. So I am now officially done with the hcg and going to do this as healthily as I can for as long as it takes and for the rest of my life since I know going back to any type of "regular" eating is what makes and keeps me FAT!
My goals for March:
20 g. Carbs or less, 1500 cal. Or less daily
Workout 6/ week, rotating between cardio at the Y and yoga videos
Reach weight of 175
Track food daily and stay active posting and supporting/ encouraging others at least 5/week.
So for such a long rambling post

Hello all
Will be checking in once a week...I am waist deep in books preparing for a new course. Speaking of waist, my skinny jeans are not so skinny anymore, I can take them off without unbuttoning them. Yay me.

Happy eating to everyone. Hang in there, slow and steady will win this race.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday.

Well I started Judd yesterday and did my first up day....I can't even write down the number that I weighed this morning lol....so I am just going to post the down day weight which will be tomorrow....

James that is unreal that they cut the top off your car, I know its not funny but it did nearly make me laugh, just the shock of it I think that people would do something like that...wow....lucky you having a motorbike though, that must be such a head rush I would think.

Welcome Sanderk, sounds like you are doing really well and have a plan.

Kway...Yhea you rock girl....

Hockeymom....I had an atkins bar once when I had an urge for chocolate, the urge lasted for days before I gave into it, but one bar made it go away, I think a week later it came back and then I learned how to make chocolate in my freezer with coconut oil and cocoa powder and some sweetener and vanilla essence, just a small amount lasted for days, I think I had one small piece a day, let me know if you want the recipe as I researched 30 pages trying to find the perfect one and then I found it.

Shelly...I hate exercise but I did go to a zumba class twice, and it was hilarious, I think once you know the moves it would be really good fun, I bet your daughter would do it with you as well.

Mthergoos...It sounds like you are staying really strong...still thinking of what you are going through though.

Arb34...Hope you feel better soon.

Averleigh....Good morning, sounds like you are determined to rock March...hope I do as well.

Calmom...I think your menu looks great....I got jittery as well when I first started atkins and I switched to decaf coffee...someone mentioned drinking stock cubes as I was feeling so blah and it really helped.

Bonnyjean GOOD MORNING...WHERE ARE YOU? its time for coffee.....

WOE: Atkins Induction
Start Date: 3/9/14
March is going to be my month. Week three was a dud for weight loss..nada...nothing...zero loss. I've read that is not unusual. But still time for some changes. Going to bookstore to buy an Atkins workbook to start tracking carbs....I hate tracking...guess I don't like accountability..LOL. But, this is now serious. Losing weight is not an option for my health. Also....I was born in '57 and am turning 57 on 3/17....Happy St. Patrick's day!!!! For some reason I think that is cool. '57 and 57.

My goals for March:
to lose 15 pounds
to start rebounding to get my physical activity started

Go March !!!!!!

Morning Folks,
Hard to believe we're in March already!
As per, was out with the fellas geocaching. Then the gym with DW & boys for a bit of cardio & then weights. I must admit, I feel almost like a gerbil on a spinning wheel doing cardio machines.
Scale reports another 1lb or so of loss. Not melting off quick. Time to input food into the sites to make sure the carbs aren't creeping.
Baddabing: funny, that profession was going to be my first choice out of school but the Federal cops wanted me to have a bit of life under my belt before signing up at 18 yrs old. Military won. BTW, I thought I was smiling in that pic
Shelly: Zumba looks like fun but the best reports I've read are from Body Pump or Rev. Not sure if they run those classes where you are?
Hoping to get a swim in this afternoon. Wrist is still shot. I know it's not broken however, there's something screwy in there
Have a good day!

Morning All

Ugh, finally slept thru the night! Must have been all this car stress. Looks like they weren't interested in my offer? They phoned but I was feeling weird and awkward so never answered the phone. I emailed them but they didn't reply so I guess it's a done deal. The thought of driving across the prairies in March just made me sick. Too bad cause it was a pretty darn good deal. Oh well.

I swear when I eat too little the scale sticks in place. Only had 2 sausage and 4 ribs yesterday and only back to where I was a week ago. Other than Friday, I'm 100% on point and I move although not real exercise. Oh well, I guess I should move my body more and my mouth less and things might change. Ugh, what a daunting option. LOL.

Have a great day y'all.
