What to drink?

Hello,
I like water ok - but I get bored with only drinking that all day long. I don't drink coffee or tea. I'm a Diet Pepsi (with caffeine) girl.
I read that caffeine is not great while trying to lose weight on low carb. What does everybody drink?

I drink 2 cups of coffee (high test) daily. I drink it black with no sweetener. And I know you said you don't like tea but I really like Green tea (hot or iced) w/ a little stevia for sweetness. Or in the evening I sometimes drink Sleepytime herbal tea w/ stevia. There are many flavored teas that are caffeine free that can be enjoyed hot or iced depending on your mood. Stevia is a great natural sweetener. I gave up soda about 4 years ago due to the chemicals in it really inflame my joints and were causing a serious brain fog. I just felt really blah when I drank it. They also sell those drops you can put in water for flavor that are sugar free. (I don't personally use them due to them chemical sweeteners).

Other than water, coffee is my go to beverage. It doesn't seem to affect my weight loss.
I don't add any sweeteners, but typically put in a Tablespoon of CO, MCT oil, or HWC. I have lost quite a bit while drinking coffee (fully loaded), but of late I've gone more with the MCT oil because my loss has slowed a bit. I am working to regulate the fat, not the caffeine.

I drink a lot of water. And I drink 3-4 large mugs of green tea each day. I put in a tablespoon or so of coconut oil into my green tea (usually into 3 of my 4 mugs per day).

I have been drinking my water pretty mindlessly. I just have a big tumbler of water with me at all times and reach over, drink some, and when the tumbler is empty, I go and refill it. I just don't think about it anymore. I try to not think of my water as entertainment. And this comes from a woman who used to drink a 2 liter bottle of Coke (full sugar) every day!!!!

The green tea has enough caffeine to keep me happy and has anti-oxidants, and supposedly helps fat loss.

I drink a lot of diet coke. I will drink tea on occasion, water when I work out, but diet coke is my mainstay. I know its evil but 1. I lose weight fine while on it and 2. I love the taste. Been drinking it since I was 17, I am 40 now. I did stop for a bit this year but actually, with the exception of a little dehydration from time to time. I prefer life with it.

So if your concerned about the weight issue then you can quite cold turkey and you may, like my wife, decide you dont miss it or you can experiment. Eat the exact menu for 2 weeks one with the drink and one without. and see if it effects you different. After you have done at least the 1st two weeks of induction correctly of course so the water weight thing does not skew the results

Like James, I also drink Diet Pepsi, all day, every day. I did quit it for a week, and didn't notice any difference in my losses. When I mentioned it to my Dr, she told me that there wasn't any reason to give it up unless I wanted to. She said I wasn't going to lose any faster without it. For me, I find it keeps me from snacking because instead of a snack, I'll grab a diet pepsi.

Thank you for the advice Baddabing - I'm struggling with the idea of quitting the Diet Pepsi habit. I just don't like the taste of coffee or tea....I don't like any hot drinks. So I will try the one week on and one week off idea.

oh good - I'm glad to know that I am not the only Diet Pepsi addict MtherGoos. I'm glad to know that it doesn't affect your weight loss efforts too. Thanks for the info. I appreciate your thoughts on that.

No problem! I know everyone is different, but if you don't want to give it up, I would wait and see if it's a problem for you.

I have a 64oz large insulated plastic mug. I fill it with ice and water.
Then comes the fun part First I have heard your body uses more energy to bring the water inside to body temp so your burning more fat/calories energy. Not sure if its true but makes sence to me.

Okay the yummy part... I take a cuccumber, slice off several slices plop it in my water, take a few with a stainer above my water shred them. Let the natural juice fall into the water squeezing the shreads to get more out. Then either add lime juice or lemon. Makes the MOST reffressing spa tasting water you will ever have. I honestly drink 3 of these babies a day!

Try it or add what you wish. Water is far to plain to be enjoyed without a bit of zip to it

That is a clever fix to shake up the water problem. Thank you very much for your idea. I appreciate it

You will be hooked! Its so nice and super easy.. water might turn a bit light green from the juice but trust me you will be HOOKED! I am and it curbs eatting, its crazy but it does.

Another thing you can do is add some mint leaves. It's a cheap water "cocktail"

I drink 2-3 Coke Zeroes every day. I also drink about 12 glasses of water per day. I am of the opinion that drinking the Coke Zero is better than pigging out on something carby.

Coke zero is good but it also makes me really thirsty. If I have to hang out somewhere and act manly I will grab the zero.
