Lack of hunger

This is my first post.

I am into my 3rd week of induction and I can barely eat over 1000 calories a day without getting nauseous. What can I do to make myself eat. I drink at least 100 ounces of fluid per day. If I drink more than that, I can't eat 1000 calories. I am taking a multivatimin, omega 3, probiotic pearls, cla, dim, and chlorophyll. I did still lose 3 pounds last week.

This didn't happen when I did Atkins before. Any suggestions?

Not knowing a lot of the info I would like to know before answer in this I will give it a shot.

I wonder if it is a volume thing or a taste thing. If so then I would consider eating calorie dense things like a ribeye for instance has 800 calories on average, throw butter on it and you get more.

Add butter or full fat dressing on anything to add calories.

Cheese.

I am sure I could come up with more.

Just want to make sure you eating enough that your losing but no so little that you start eating away at muscles and or getting malnourished.

Remember 20 carbs or less while on induction does not mean 0 carbs.

If you like nuts you can get good calories there as well if you want to step outside of the induction list and tested them as far as not being able to loose.

Perhaps it is both a little of both. Regarding food : I use EVOO and rice vinegar for dressing. I'm taking your suggestion. Steak tonite!!

The carb tracker says I should get an extra 300 from butter. I have a cabinet full of herbs and spices.

As far as fluid goes:

I'm 279 (from 292) so I should roughly have 140 fluid oz. I will add 4 cups of broth which should put me at my desired intake. I was also thinking of heavy cream to my tea.

I'm not a nut fan, but the Atkins m&ms treats are my fav twice a week.

Thanks for your input! I will see how the next seven days go.

It might be those Atkins treats that are making you feel sick. I've heard lots of feedback from people that the sugar alcohols in them make them nauseated.


Just a thought. Hang in there, you're doing great so far. Week 3 is a rough one for most people!

I would say not to force yourself to eat if you truly aren't hungry. Ditch the packaged products, eat real foods that are full of fat and protein and listen to your body. Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're not. Some days you will be hungrier than others and that's ok too.
