Look forward to spending February with everyone! I was good at my poker game last night, but I ate more than normal. I think the pizza toppings and wings combined were too much sodium!

Good Morning Everyone! Here's to a much better month for all!

I've been out of touch for the past two days as I have been helping deliver baby goats. Makes me think of Trini - has anyone heard from her recently? I sure she is busy on the farm as well.

My goals this month:
1. Not get frustrated with bounces;
2. Up my protein intake to at least 40g daily (should be 60g);
3. Lose some weight;
4. Read one book cover to cover.

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend! :)

Crunches everyday
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to all our new joiners for this month! I hope you'll post often so we can get to know you better!

I would LOVE to get to 166 this month. That would mean being no longer obese, but just overweight. I think that's a little too optimistic at this point in my journey, that would mean a full 10 pounds this month, and I'm just not losing that quickly any more, but I'm going to give it my best shot! I'm starting the month at 176.6.

This month will also mark one full year on Atkins. I started on February 22, 2013. I truly can't believe the changes that have happened in a year. A year ago, I was gorging myself on grilled cheese sandwiches, French fries, and Valentines Candy. I was in pain all the time from lugging around 300 pounds, and just miserable in general. The difference in how I feel is mind boggling. I'm excited to post before and after pictures on the 22nd of this month, just to see the difference that a year can make.

Here's to a great February for all of us!!!!

Morning everyone! Well ok not much morning left Lol Just got back from my DD Dr appt. She has a Bad virus. Never fails it's Always a Virus where they can't give her any Meds to feel better. Low grade fever and awful sore throat.
Ya'll my baby girl is 5'7 and 175 Lbs!! That's Obese! She doesn't look that heavy. My heart hurt so bad seeing that :( I have to make some Major changes in our home!!

I'm saying Good Bye January I did Not like you! Well other then quitting smoking that is You sucked!

Hello everyone!! February is going to be a GOOD month because -- we'll be looking forward to spring and wearing fewer clothes! Although, I'm going to Miami in about a week! wheee! and I left all my swimsuits in Maine! what to do?

I'm starting February a pound higher than January, and I am motivated to get to my GOAL, which is 8 pounds down. That will be hard, and I probably won't do it, but 5 is doable. I am in between a size 4 and 6 right now!

Hello everyone, Happy February,
Good to see that we all made it through February,
My goal this month like January is to maintain Between 131 to 134lbs...
Congrats to everyone on sticking to your eating plans, but most of all just living a healthy life you were meant to live.
For me I have been busy with my job at the newspaper working 4 days instead of three...and preparation for my clients wedding next weekend...I have also been booked for two spring weddings as well and have started meeting with some contractors to start off the early spring landscaping..bit busy is good...I just pray that I can manage the farm work as well...
When you are busy the eating becomes just to sustain life and not the mine less stating or boredom eating that carried my weight up.
So here is to a great February.

Shelly, I know it's so hard to make changes for the whole family! Maybe you can even do it without discussing it, so that they don't even realize that you're making small changes. Like making less carby side dishes with dinner, having healthier snacks in the house. Little things that they won't necessarily notice. And one change at a time will add up to big changes.

Missy, you're always an inspiration! I'm watching your journey as you begin to add in new foods. I know I need to, I'm just so afraid to do it.

Well, did something to my wrist while out in the bush; hopefully some swimming & hot tub will sort it out.
Made the mistake of looking in DADR pg 147 & saw 20g of carbs for hard liquor :eek:
Looks like the Capital will be getting more snow. Oh well, keeps the mosquitoes at bay.
Anyone have an interesting way of making pork roast fancier; my DW has it in the slow-cooker. I suppose I could check the food porn/slow cooker thread.
Perhaps I'll step on the scale while at the Y & see if it's asks for one of us to get off :lol:

PaleoGuy, for my BF, I shred the pork roast and mix it into some Guy's Sugar Free BBQ Sauce. He loves it that way! You could also just put some sour cream and cheese on it, and maybe some avocado. Hope your wrist feels better!

New Month...New Plan!
 
Boy was January tough! (must admit I did do some damage over the holidays, so I take ownership of the residual effects).

So my body seems to love being at 150, but I will keep on keeping on until I get to my ultimate goal of 140! I may switch things up a little and do a Raw Diet or try South Beach.

Well, another month. Made it to 76.3kg so only lost a kilo for January... Trying not to get down about it. Is there a goal for Feb? No, am off to Mex for a couple weeks, one of which is all-in so will seriously contemplate having my fav pina coladas and enjoying the week. Haven't decided yet.

Anyway, best of everything to everyone this month. I hope the snow recedes a bit for those in the north, that the weather earms up a wee bit for everyone, and that Feb is a successful month for all of us!

Thanks!! I am kinda wondering if maybe I should get her thyroid checked? She ran a temp all afternoon yesterday and then this morning. I gave her tylenol and it went down. @ the Dr her temp was 97.3 i need to check it a few times after she's well first thing in the am and see if it's that low usually. I have thyroid problems My parents Both have hypothyroid and my gran does, my husbands sister has Hyperthyroidism. So Big family history of thyroid
Anyway I am going to start adding more protein and lc veggies. I will Have to have a talk with My parents And Billys parents. They are all pretty bad about providing breads, candies and pizza etc. I think my DD has a sensitivity to gluten anyway so I really limit it here at home

Well the swimming & weights didn't make matters worse but I definitely screwed something up.
Scale at the YMCA read 119.5 kg so my dear wife says I've managed to lose between 7-8 lbs in January.
Weird, I'm not feeling it at all. Pants maybe a touch looser :dunno:
Anyhow, think I'll keep the carbs <20g for awhile longer.
Think the latest weather forecast was another 15cm so I'll have a mini workout tomorrow shovelling.

I'm joining too!

After two weeks of perfect eating, I finished out January with two days of carbs closer to 70 than to 20. Big mistake and I'm not proud of it. Back on track this morning. Shopping done, protein cooked, resolve solid.
