Okay went and check it out - She definitely lost a little too much weight. It said she is 5'4 but she looks like she needs to gain at least 10 lbs. You can definitely see how too skinny she is in her face and neck/collar areas.

Hi all.
Just a quick check-in today, went grocery shopping and ran all over Bullhead City to get all the things on our list. Now I am tired and will have a quick dinner of grilled chicken and fresh spinach with warm bacon dressing. Maybe I will make a chocolate OMM for dessert.
Have been sticking to the plan and I will weigh in on Mondays.

Mthergoos: you say eggs and beef. That's all I eat every single day but I must admit I don't eat much beef cause I won't eat it unless I can bbq it. Are you saying you eat little to no pork???

BulldogMom and Sandy: Sorry this long, cold winter is getting to you. I also believe I have SAD and I think we should all get one of those lights. I've heard they actually work or at least help a little. I too get a little funk sometime between Dec and Mar every single year.

I'm really wondering if Atkins is working for me. I have to wonder is it the "food" or is the smaller portions and lower calories that's doing it, well at a snail's pace that is. The only reason I'm staying on this is most other WOE use a ton of veggies and I just hate them so........

Bonny, I do eat pork. I eat bacon many days for breakfast, I just know that my very best losses come on the weeks where I stick to just beef and eggs. I have beef pretty much every night for dinner, usually either a ribeye or some ground beef, but some nights I'll have a pork steak instead. Whatever kind of steak it is, I always eat all the visible fat off of it first, and then some of the meat.

(I love food to much to ever have that problem LOL!!)
I had a eating disorder and it is very easy to fall back into it. I was bulimic when I was young. Eating low carb keeps me from feeling that need. When I was on Weight Watchers, I felt that urge come on, so this is the only way I will lose weight now. It is a very fine line from one eating disorder to another. It is a compulsive behavior toward eating whether it is too much or too little. The compulsion just changes.

Hmm, I should maybe try that. It can't hurt at this point, I guess. Thanks.

Up until literally this year every time Biggest Looser was on I just ordered a pizza or was eating ice cream. I would go bone thin if I could and it resulted in that much cash but.... I see people say someone is too big then someone is too small I can truly understand why people get body issues. She should be the weight she wants to be and if she did it just to get the cash then good on her. Julian Michaels posted something on this stating that she nor the white guys whose name escapes me did not train her ever therefore they will refrain from any comment.

We just found out from our tax guy that they changed teh adoption credit. You used to capture you adoption fees etc back at tax time which some people would then turn around and start the next adoption. We adopted brothers so we dont really need another adoption because we are plenty busy but we were hoping to pay off a van we are not really happy with so when we wanted to get another vehicle we would not be upside down on van payments. Now you can deduct the taxes you owe up to the amount you spent on the adoption. I will never owe 23,000 dollars on taxes so we just got screwed on something we could have done the last seven tears when we were trying to adopt but went through failed adoption after failed adoption. So I am kinda pissed.

I did get in a great 3 mile run. Food was on target. Work was productive even though they made me retrieve a new patient out in the minus 4 degree weather when my job is an office rat.

I shoveled for about an hour and a half non-stop. Still need to dig out about 40% of our driveway. We got a foot of snow. I found the grill on the deck so DH could grill us some burgers for dinner. I unearthed our cars. Soooo sore!

I have SAD as well. It seems to be much better the last couple of winters because I make sure to take a vitamin D-3 everyday (I take 4,000 IU daily). For me, I'm still blue, but not to the point where I cry every single day from November-April. Literally everyday.

Someday, I will get out of here and to Florida...we keep pushing back the move because it just keeps snowing!! We don't have any pressing need to get there (like jobs or a lease waiting for us). DH still gets confused when driving in new areas (short term memory stuff from the stroke) and I got him a Garmin for Christmas, but I don't want to risk the drive down by adding crummy weather on top of his health issues.

My sister linked me to several articles about crunches and how they don't work and can make your mid-section bigger. I am going to re-think the crunches and most likely switch to doing a planks and push-ups combo.

Even Jillian was shocked out of her bun at how the Biggest Loser winner looked. I only saw the clips this morning on the Wendy William's show and she looked scary thin.

Morning

Nice drops today!! I eat pork ribs and steak most evening and was just wondering if I should be going to a leaner cut of meat?? I chose ribs because
the fat ratio is so much higher than the protein but now I'm wondering if
I should eat more chicken and leaner beef and pork choices???

Bonny, it is the higher fat cuts that will do you the most good. I tried Dukan last year because it seemed "Healthier".... it is a similar plan.... sort of "Atkins Low Fat". I dropped 5 lbs in a week.... and then stalled... worked at it for another 3 weeks for 3 lbs total and then said the heck with it. I know from my past experience that Atkins really, really works for me, (I've lost 130 lbs 7 years ago, but gained back 30 over the past 3 years because I went way off plan).
It seems counter intuitive to be eating such a high fat diet, but suspend what you have been told for so many years about fat being bad for you and follow the original 72 version to the letter.... I know you will be surprised. If it still doesn't work, or you find that you just hate it, then look around and find a version that fits you and how you want to live. We are all different, and if this plan makes you unhappy, then you won't be able to sustain it ~ Find your happy place my friend

Roger that!
I've only been on this for just under 5 months and every month I'm losing less and less. With only 40 lbs down and 45-50 lbs still to go and soon maybe only averaging 5 lbs a month, it doesn't sound like it may be the right plan for me??

That sounds like a good steady loss to me, but again, it is what you feel about it that is important, especially if you do not like this WOE.

BonnyJean...I'm singing... You just can't give up now...you come to far from where you started from.

When I was on the range during my time with "uncle sam", oftentimes I had to re-zero or re-align my weapon so I could hit the target center mass. Re-adjust, but don't throw in the towel. You are doing well.

Checking in.
I am doing pretty good, made lc chocolate moose and sf jello so we will have enough for the week and more. Going for my walk in a few before it rains which would be a good thing. What does Rain look like ?
Billy-Jean I do not count anything but carbs. I eat all meat and fish except for Oysters yuck. One of our local stores has pork ribs on sale for$ 0.99 lb and I will get as many as I can. Some for the freezer and some will get smoked.

My added challenge is to walk every day but go a bit further every other day if my knees hold out. Wish I had a partner to walk with me.
Have a great day.

FIRSTLY: Thank you so much for your service.

Secondly: I have no desire to quit trying to reduce my weight but a pattern is developing despite being 100% on plan so that's what my discontent is. The "re-adjust" is what I'm trying to figure out!!!

Good Morning Everyone! No loss for me today, but that's okay. No gain either, so I'm happy.

Bonny, definitely go with the fattier cuts of me. That's why I prefer ribeye whenever possible. Whatever meat I'm having for dinner, I always eat the visible fat off of it first, then if I'm still hungry, I'll have some of the actual meat part. If it's a lean cut of meat, I'll add some melted butter to it. Last night my BF cooked a London Broil on the grill. Bleh! Way too lean for me. I dipped each bite in butter to be sure I got my fat in for the night.

I know there's been a lot of controversy about the biggest loser winner this season, but I have to say, if it meant getting "too thin" for a few months to win $250,000, you bet I'd do it! It's no different than an actor losing a bunch of weight to play a certain part. Given the chance, I'd jump at it!

Hope everyone has a really great day!!

Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

Bonny, I just went through and reviewed my stats. My losses the last few months have been ~

September 10.2 pounds
October 10.4 pounds
November 7.8 pounds
December 7.8 pounds
January 7.2 pounds

So I've definitely slowed down a lot too. But as long as we continue to keep doing what we're doing, those little losses all add up.

Thanks Kway! No phenomenally huge losses, they just add up slowly! LOL
