MissyDee----Boy do I wish I would have known about that fish oil when I was coming off of Zoloft...that may have saved me from months and months of that awful brain zap!

I finally had the woosh I was waiting for! I'm down 3 pounds this morning after over a week of nothing! I had eggs for breakfast and lunch yesterday....has anyone noticed they lose better when they eat eggs? Just wondering if that was a coincidence?

Feb 1----310
Feb 2----310
Feb 3----310
Feb 4----310
Feb 5----307!!!!

Kimber, Yeah I was on zoloft when I took the fish oil. It is amazing what things can interact with meds. ANd yes, the fish oil tabs are used exactly for that- to stop the brain zaps when coming off but when you are still on the med and haven't reduced to come off, it causes them and more. Weird. Sorry you had to go through months of that. I don't think I could have made it through that long. A week was long enough for me!

I think my scale needs a battery or something. It was all over the place this morning and then guess what right back to 161.6. UGGGGHHH. I know I have to be losing, it's just not showing. I am going to get a new battery this weekend.

2/1 162.4
2/2 161.6
2/3 161.6
2/4 161.6
2/5 161.6

Arb34, looking good.

Bonny-Jean, my scale is in the attic & my only access is thru the garage...it keeps me from getting on it once a day too. :-)

Laura, I don't want you to give up either. You've had so much going on! Between work being crazy, and things at home changing, I know it can be overwhelming, and taking care of yourself takes a back seat, but don't give up. We're here for you. One choice at a time you can get back on track.
Thanks MtherGoos! I got to looking back over the last year and it was this time last year that I was tired, irritable, had no motivation and was needing daily naps. I chalked it up to my illness at the time but maybe its just the time of year for me. I'm not going to give up. If all I can manage at the moment is to maintain, then its better than nothing. I'll be here everyday for my daily dose of inspiration.

Bonny, Nice drop!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!

Baddabing, I always get a great burger with no bun at Red Robin. There's definitely plenty of choices!

Arb, great loss!!

Kimber, I always find that I have my best losses when I'm primarily eating eggs and beef. I believe that Dr. Atkins once said that eggs are basically the perfect food. The perfect ratio of protein and fat.

Missy, I definitely think you need a new battery!

PC, hope things clear up so that you can get out of the house for a bit tonight!

Kway, you're doing a great job!

Shelly, a whole month already! You're through the worst of it I hope! I'm sure that's similar to the dreams most of us have had about eating a bunch of off plan food!

Welcome AddysMommy!

BulldogMom, I definitely think that the seasons affect our moods more than we realize. Just try to maintain til spring and hit it hard again. We're here for you!

Nice loss TrisMom!

Welcome Kandi!

Just down .2 today, but I'll take it! Staying on plan and sticking with a little IF by not eating til noon. Not really sure if that will help, but we'll see.

Did anyone see The Biggest Loser last night? The girl that won went from a size 20 to a 0/1 ...down to 105 lbs and look stick thin....lots of talk online about how she looks sick and is probably anorexic now. She had been a competitive swimmer before she gained all of her weight so I'm wondering if she is just competitive by nature and knew that she would have go go this low to beat the two men who were also in the final 3. They started at a much higher weight so to win she had to go this low......any thoughts? Any one worry that working so hard to lose the weight will set them up for an eating disorder? (I love food to much to ever have that problem LOL!!)

He also says to take in additional calcium if you experience leg cramps and extra potassium for fatigue, and salt for weakness from rapid weight loss."

I don't think it matters what multivitamin just that you get the appropriate dosages. From what I remember reading on it, the dosage amounts recommended are due to the diet not getting a sufficient amount of those vitamins to sustain weight loss and without losing muscle or getting fatigued.

Added: I wonder if that could be why weight loss slows down for many of us?? Just thought of that. I may start following his advice on the vitamin intake and see if that makes a difference. I knew there was a reason I should continually re-read my books.
Wow, I had not thought of that either ~ I am definitely going to make sure I take my vitamins per those directions.... Excellent info my friend, thank you so much for your diligence and willingness to share.

Kway (Katrina): you asked about vitamins, remembering I have only just started low carbing so am not up to speed on it all but I just looked it up and what I read was when low carbing a multivitamin and omega 3 supplement are recommended.
Which is interesting as I haven't got any multivitamins but I do take omega 3 fish oil, so I am glad you brought it up, think I might get some tomorrow if this rain ever stops....did you know most of England is flooded with all the rain we have had this year, when we take the dogs to the park most days the seagulls are swimming as the grass is like a lake lol, and last week walking at the beach the swans were swimming on the sidewalks lol, no kidding, it does make me laugh, they say we haven't had rain like this in three century's, I think most of the country side is under water....sorry I am rambling and getting boring now lol.
Not boring at all!

Thank you for posting that! I was gonna this morning. I was checking online as soon as she walked thru the door cause I instantly thought.. WHOA!! Never seen a winner that skeletal. She went way overboard and not sure if it's cause she was that determined to win the money or she brought on an eating disorder. Anyway, it was very disturbing and you could see that everybody was thinking the same thing. Not exactly what the show is trying to portray. One of my favs for 14 yrs now. This is my first year watching without a bag of chips. LOL.

Sandy, I'm sorry you're having a rough day! Sometimes it honestly does help to just spend time on the boards, reading and posting. It keeps your head and in the games and can help keep you from comforting yourself with something that you'll regret later. We're here for you!

February 1: 156.8 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Crunches everyday
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

This squat challenge is killing me!!!

Hard to gauge how much snow we got overnight and today because it's a really heavy snow and as it piles up the weight of the snow compresses it down. It's still snowing out there. DH did the first round of shoveling. I am gearing up and going out to do round 2 in a little while. At least I've lost enough weight since Thanksgiving that I can fit comfortably back into my good winter coat.

I'm sorry that you're having such a rough day, Sandy.

I saw the woman that won Biggest Loser. She definitely took it too far. She looked scary skinny. 105 pounds?? How tall is she??

Gotta cook up some bacon tonight. Love bacon. Oh, that's what I will have for dinner eggs and bacon. Oh can't wait. LOL. No major goals this month but I want to lose 5lbs. My work clothes are so tight I've gained 17 lbs in like 2-3 months. But already down a few and some inches too so slow and steady wins the race. I really hope that her going overboard in order to win doesn't damage the reputation of the show or the plan...it has been so inspiring to so many!! Maybe though, they need to consider the wisdom of putting girls up against huge 400 lb men who will of course be able to lose a much higher percentage than a girl who is half their weight to begin with.
I too am so sorry that you are having a bad day but have to wonder if it is in the stars or moon or something like that.....I have been in a horrible mood since Sunday and just can't shake it.....

Up .8 - Ratz.

Well, it was not entirely unexpected after my carby weekend. It is a great reminder to stay the course this weekend.

I am doing week one of Atkins 72 and have been for a couple of days, so honestly I do expect my Whoosh by Friday. I know that I am in ketosis because the inside of my mouth smells and tastes like old socks smell.

Not going to work out this week, but will be walking in the evenings.

I'm only going to weigh myself once a week on Wednesdays.

Bulldogmom, Maybe you have SAD - seasonal affective Disorder where when you just don't get enough natural sunlight it really effects your mood and energy. My dad has it this time of year and then he got one of those natural salt light for his living room - it really helped him alot.

Sandy, sorry for he bad day, but tomorrow WILL be better.

Luvleliz, watch out on those smokies. Depending on the brand and how many you eat, they can be high in carbs. Learned after I ate some before and Then read the package.

Nikki, you'll lose some soon, don't give up. With Juddd, I know from experience you will have ups and downs and days where you just don't drop and then all of a sudden whoosh!

Bonny, sorry missed your drop Congrats!

Gypsy, I don't think I could ever handle that much snow or having to shovel it anymore.

Nim, sorry you gained today. Tomorrow will hopefully be better for us all.

I have never watched the Biggest Loser because it always made me feel guilty for not trying to lose weight when I needed to. I will have to look up who you guys are talking about.
