Now that's better!! I certainly agree on the skinny pants for men.... and sundresses for women, they look great on young girls but never would work for me unless I had a jacket or something to cover the baggy arms. I am using a Fitbit to measure my steps each day and trying to find ways to add more steps to my day without having to make a special trip to the track. Got one also for my daughter in Oregon and enjoy a bit of competition with her using it. Does anyone on here use it? Would love to add more friends to compete with. I hope everyone has a super great day and that we all come out as losers~~~

Congrats to all those who have lost and are losing!

Congrats to all those who haven't lost or have gained and are still here kicking but and getting it done!

Sandy1, alot of us here do the Atkins 72 induction plan. For me it is just so much easier - just meat, eggs, cheese and 1 cup leafy greens 2x a day. Here's the thread we have been using and the first page explains the plan - http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/at...ou-follow.html

CDN, the cheesy sausage dip is great with the pork rinds! Plus if you make homemade pork rinds they tase much better than store bought and you can season them anyway you like. As for kemp - he is 5'8 and start weight was 267, when he left us I think he was down to 229ish.

Bonny, I drink Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi every day as well. It could be the AS as Looking back I lost about 4lbs last month and not losing so far this month. It's weird, but you know our bodies are constantly changing so some things that may not have caused issues could start to. I'll go down to drinking it maybe 1-2x a week and see if that helps. That's the only place I get any AS from. If I make anything that need sugar(not very often) I use Stevia drops.

Arb34 I had never heard of fitbit, so have researched them and they look great, just like having your own personal trainer....I want one now !!!
Thanks for sending me the link missy dee, I have read lots of the pages now and have bookmarked for later reading, but its given me a better idea of what to eat on 72, thank you, you really researched it a lot didn't you, it was brilliant...so I am now doing Atkins 72 starting tomorrow, my dinner is already in the crockpot, just lamb and veggies, but probably veggies that I shouldn't be having just yet...anyway thank you so much for letting me know.
Kway, sorry not sure of your name....you lost 4lbs in a week, that is amazing, I hope I do the same....
pcaltman...really hope you feel better soon, ear infections are awful, have you tried a warm water bottle on it....poor you though, isn't it a good job we don't know what we have to go through....
Anyway onwards and upwards.....or I think I mean onwards and downwards lol.

Hey Sandy,

I'm weighing in once a week. Helps me stay focused. I'm too scale obsessed and I drink tons of water so the fluctuations tend to frustrate me. I started Sunday Feb 2nd @ 152 so next weigh in will be on the 9th.

February goal ~ To get in the 180's - I'm at 195 right now, so I am going to work towards 188 by Mar 1st. I would go for a full 10 pounds, but it is a short month, hehehehe...

Second day back after a little weekend carb bender and judging from the unpleasant taste in my mouth, I am back in ketosis.

I am having a mini "fat blast" based on Atkins 72 induction ~ no carbs except for the small amounts in cheese / HWC. I feel like I swallowed an oil slick, but I know this will pass......

Good luck to everyone

Good Morning Everyone.... or afternoon. Down half a pound today to 175.4. I am trying a bit of the Intermittent Fasting to see how that works for me and to see if I like it. It's not any kind of hard core fasting, but I'm not having my breakfast until noon, and since I don't eat dinner until about 7:30, that gives me an 8 hour window of eating, from 12-8 each day. That means 16 hours each day without eating. I'll see if that makes things move any quicker this month than last month. I didn't think I would like it, but I actually like having my stomach feel empty and flat longer in the day. Ideally, I'd like to push my first meal back until 2, and have just a 6 hour window of eating, but I know I'm not there yet.

So many new people and so much going on that I don't know where to start!

Bonny, I know you're frustrated. I'm hoping that maybe it was just that sweetener and now that it's gone, maybe things will start moving more quickly for you now.

Missy, all that food looked YUMMY! Don't you just love low carb cooking? I know I do. I don't eat most of it, but I make some great treats for my BF! Yesterday I baked some avocado wrapped in bacon. AMAZING!!!

I hope everyone has a really great day!!!

Ok, so before you start laughing, I have to tell you the store behind these pictures. Then... fell free to laugh hysterically. I know my kids were!

About 10 years ago, when I lived in Kansas, I got down to my thinnest, which was 166. I did it by cutting calories and working out for 2 hours every day. Then, when life got busy and I couldn't work out so much I started gaining, then the eating went to crap, and ...... well you know the rest. So, when I was at my thinnest, I bought these overalls that I thought were so cute. Size MEDIUM! They fit, only for a VERY brief period and they've been hanging in my closet ever since. I have no idea why I've never gotten rid of them, but I haven't.

So yesterday was my day off, and I was cleaning house and cooking, and for some reason those overalls popped into my head. I realized that I'm only 9 pounds away from my thinnest weight at that time, so I just randomly decided to try them on. Good Heavens they fit!!!! Honest to goodness, I NEVER expected to EVER be able to wear them again.

Now, I'm not saying that I SHOULD ever wear them again, but I CAN!

Excuse the bare feet and unbrushed hair, as I said, I was cleaning house, but I just had to snap a picture because I was so thrilled. SIZE MEDIUM!

Mthgoos, if the evening window doesn't work for you, you can change it to eat everything from breakfast to late afternoon and just keep the evening/night without eating. When I was doing IF with the window eating, I found I lost better not eating supper through to breakfast the next morning. Another thing may be to just up your fats with what you are already eating. I upped my fat to 80-85% this week and although so far I haven't lost anything scale wise, I am now comfortably in a size 12 - my 14's were falling off me this week. So something has changed body wise. AND OMG you look so CUTE in those overalls!!!

OH! Almost forgot! Yes, I've been trying to hit closer to 80% on my fats too. And I've been trying to make them better quality fats. I lowered the amount of mayo I'm using in my lunch, and added 1 Tablespoon of MCT to the egg salad. So, same amount of calories, but I'm hoping the MCT oil is a better quality fat for me than the Mayo.

Doing well so far. Didn't go off track for superbowl but for a couple of chips and 2 low carb beers - actually maybe I only had one. I made deviled eggs and chicken wings, salad and artichoke dip and celery and ranch dip. I made it impossible to cheat. It was funny my hubby was looking for desert that night. He said that's the only thing I forgot. LOL.

I will catch up on the last 5 pages later. Looks like there are a bunch of newbies on this thread. Back to the grind....

b: 6 chicken meatballs, 5 chicken sausages, coffee with HWC
L: salad, 4 chicken wings, maybe a hamburger patty
D: Salad, baked chicken breast

Loving not being hungry. Haven't had the two snacks I usually was having ...and not a minute late either. Come 10 am I was in the kitchen, now i'm not even thinking about it. I load up on protein in the morning and im good. Today I get home at 7:15 pm so I will probably have something to eat before I leave work or bring and atkins bar with me.

You should research the Up Band as well. Unlike the Fitbit, it is almost impossible to lose as it is built into a bracelet that can be worn 24/7, even in the shower. I love mine. The only doiwn side is that it is not yet a computer program, and requires a Smartphone.

Hi Sandy...you can call me KWAY or Katrina is fine. Thanks. I believe you are going to love the '72 version...to me it's just more simpler, I don't like having to think about what I am going to eat at least not this early in this transition. My loss was only really after 3-4 days on that plan and my inches have been dropping like crazy! I am confident that you will receive the same results.

Nimua: Totally loved the look of the up band, I just did a search on it, it is incredible, I had never heard of either before today...the bit I liked the best was it said the band also vibrates to remind you to move about if you have been inactive for a specified amount of time, that kind of made me laugh as if I got one it would always be vibrating lol, I am lazy, I do like walking though, having one would be fun, I have put my order in to my hubby lol but he only smiled and nodded lol.
Mthrgoos : I have to agree you looked good in your dungarees, it must have done you good to be able to get into them again, really motivating, you have come a long way.
Cudabear: where did you go on your holidays? my son is in Calgary where you live only he is working on the oil rigs.
Katrina: did you see I peeked in at your journal, I am so nosy lol, yes I think 72 is going to work better for me, I hadn't heard of it until today, its so good having all these people to guide me and put me right, can't wait to drop more weight, thanks again.

MthrGoos: You are a true motivator. You ROCK! The overalls are so . I am so happy for you! --KWAY

February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Crunches everyday
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

I harbor a secret love for overalls, but I wouldn't wear the in public, just for gardening and stuff!

Small world hey?!
I was in Mexico (Playa Del Carmen) for 2 weeks, back for a handful of days and then off to California for some meetings.. Glad to get back and sleep in my own bed for a change, not to mention some resemblance of a normal routine!
