Bonny Jean...oh no so they are going to repair it, that is a shame, I agree it makes no sense does it when they could have just paid you out and saved themselves money....totally silly, and the stress of it all won't do you any good either.....I think you need to do something nice for yourself....a glass of something or other might help....sending you a big hug.

Thanks Sandy. No worries.
I try not to let people like that get under my skin.
Maybe next summer, I'll look around. Poor car is already 9 yrs old. I believe that you're either paying a bank or you're paying a mechanic, but nobody rides for free.

Free standing, as deep as I can go squats. My thighs look sooo different from the beginning to the month! I break them into sets of 20/25. And it takes awhile to do!

Tomorrow: 230
Wednesday is a rest day
Thursday: 240
Friday: 250

And then my normally lazy butt is going back to the 50 that I was doing every other day! I was deranged to not look at the whole chart when my friend put up the squat challenge on facebook!!!!!!

I did find myself an arms challenge for March that doesn't seem to be anywhere near as insane as this one!

Finished the day at 1300 cals 8 carbs. I feel a little off getting over this cold and run down from having everyone coming at me in every direction today. I was still thinking about going for a run because it was so warm. Then decided I really need to make sure this cold is gone before running. I just ran out to check the mail and apparently a cold from moved in. I could see my breath so that’s natures way of saying I made the right decision because that would have been miserable. Ill use the time to try and find a video software that will play the p90x videos that someone....... gave me.

Sandy1 – this particular mud run takes place in Fort Carson, an Army base. It is a little over 3 miles long and I think 12 obstacles ranging from silly things to wall climbing to wallowing through trenches, jumping off platforms, etc. You start out clean and end up covered in mud.

HockeyMum be carefull what you squat over. Craft rooms have scissors needles etc.

Not sure if the link will work, but here's the 30 Day Squat Challenge I've been doing. I have not missed a day of it nor have I skimped on a single squat.

!

I dont usually rant, well not that much but..... many many years ago when I was deciding what diet to follow I chose Atkins because 1. It did not require me to buy anything where everyone else wanted you to purchase there food etc. and 2. It had scientific reasoning the resonated with me. Well I was sitting on the couch watching and reading about all the galaxy gear, phones, etc that will be coming out soon when I saw Sharon Osborn on TV selling atkins. They want you to call and get there kit which of course is all the frakenfood they sell. If I was going through diets trying to decide I honestly do not think I would have picked this diet since all I ever see is buy this buy that. Its sad.

Oh OH OHHHH and another thing!

I am glad I was able to review the p90x videos. It packed with buy this gear and buy that food and buy this supplement. F that! No wonder no one wants to get in shape. its cheaper to just get fat and lazy!

Stepping off box bow but still not happy.

Shelly...hopefully someone will come on and give you some advice on how to get it going again...the only thing I can think of is that dreaded word exercise, Gypsy seems to have got hers going with the squats and I think she posted a link, at this point in might be worth giving it a go....I wouldn't though lol because I hate exercise.
Anyway I think you are doing amazing sticking to it everyday, it shows how much willpower you have....

Morning all, little groggy this morning but I think I liked that cold last night. Just have left over crud to get out of my system.

princessmommy - If you got those wings pre-made they could be the culprit. I keep finding wheat flour in them even if they are "Naked" I suspect its to keep the sauce on the wing which is the problem I have yet to master.

Keep on rocking on.

James I think you're right! I just stupidly assumed that the wings would be close to 0 but I just checked the website of who makes them and it says 9! So I ended up eatting 18 Carbs! Made me mad at myself! I should have Known better and checked! No more wings for me!

Good Morning Everyone,
Wow oh wow, it's so hard to keep up or catch up with everyone when I have been missing in action...
Update on me:-
Weight as of this morning 133lbs...I am holding steady between 132 and have gone as high as 136lbs...but as soon as I see the increase I cut back on carbs....don't want to go beyond that weight...
Maintaince has been fairly easy....I continue to be mainly lower carbs, have add back fruits, higher carbs vegtables like sweet potatoes, green bananas, squash...I still keep away from sugar of any kind...and any thing white, like white rice which I love...and white bread, I do eat quinoa...my husband has been baking up a storm...good bread has become so expensive....so I do eat some whole grain bread and butter when it's hot..and I have to watch that, great in the mouth, but bad on the hips...I also feel bloated...not good..I think I no longer can injest wheat..but will I learn no...lol..
Still eat mainly chicken and pork..and sometimes fatty beef..I make a bone broth soup on Sunday and so I can have some broth later at nights..I still feel the urge to eat when I'm exhausted, or bored, upset..yes I continue to fight it...and it has not gotten any easier...winter blues are still around..but I when I do give in it's full fat plain yogurt, and berries and almond or peanut butter..both without sugar..I still use cream in my coffee, and yogurt, and of course I should give up dairy to improve my health.(Asthma..I keep looking for a replacement, but notthing does the trick...lol.
I don't do any any formal exercise, as I'm just way too busy..but I'm really really working hard...Did the first wedding and it all went great, putting things together for three spring weddings, started designs for spring and summer landscapes installs..working at the newspaper three days a week..all are physical jobs..and of course house work..and more house work...I have been down sizeing everything...so my excise comes from physical labour...I should do more, but who has the time..soon I'll be out in the fresh air again, and adding farm work to it all.
My health has been so so...my Asthma is a little improved, I think once the weather warms up and we don't have to have the wood stoves on that will help...I find I'm much better when I'm away from the house..as many of you know we live in an old farm house..and so I think that there must be something at the house that effects my lungs..we have removed all the carpets from the house..redone the hardword, but who knows what is in the walls..but there is no way we have the time or money to go open a can of worms..My husband is going crazy the feilds are so wet the grown is filled with water so it's going to be a very late planting season..which will effect the price of everything....We are holding on we both are lucky to have jobs as well, and for that we are very thankful..

Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm here, and that maintance is doable..it not easy because temptations don't go away, but we are made stronger as time goes by, I think to myself, when I want that cookie, or hot bread, can I go through all that I had to go through to get here again...No so it's not worth it...

I think of you all and I remember and greatly appreciate all the love and support I have here on this thread, for all the new comes it works..look at the wonderful expamples of Shelly and mothergoos, to name a few..
Keep at it..don't give up...keep reading learning posting and belive in the program and yourself..have faith..

All the very best..I'm around and will post when I have the time..
Love to all...
Biggest hugs.

Good Morning Everyone!

Trini, so great to hear from you! I'm so glad to hear that you're managing maintenance, and are even able to add some foods back in. Can't wait to get there! Now if we could just get Laura and Missy to post I would feel much better!

James, that's one of my pet peeves too! I just posted on another thread about that a few days ago. Makes me crazy. All these crazy Atkins products that I firmly believe are not at ALL what Dr. Atkins had in mind. Every time I walk into WalMart and see the big display of Atkins foods, it sets me off. GRRR......... Also, I just started experimenting with essential oils a few weeks ago, so I would love to hear any input you have. Sadly, I have nobody to learn from, so I just downloaded a book and I'm trying to figure it out as I go. I made my own body lotion yesterday by just whipping coconut oil in my mixer with some lavender oil. I had read that the lavender oil is good for your skin in many different ways, but I would love to hear any input that you have.

Shelly, in addition to the wings, I would guess that the pork steak and bacon are causing some water retention. That's just a guess, but I know too much in one day ALWAYS causes me to retain water.

Going to my first private yoga class today! Can't wait. I went to a yoga class with my daughter a few months ago and just felt totally lost, so, for Christmas, she got me an hour with a private yoga instructor and I'm going today. YAY!!!!

Thanks for the update, Trinigirl! I keep inching towards my goal weight and have felt my anxiety rising about maintenance. Your comments have been very helpful!

2/20/14: 225.8 Yay
2/24/14: 228
2/25/14: 227 ok I can do this

Just a few more days til the end of the month. Just had a bite of steak with some very very hot guacamole from the Mexican market that says its not hot but is sooooo is! But I love it anyways. Picked up some pork rinds to get me through this "week" if needed. have my hamburger patty defrosting and my salad ready to go for today. Thursday I will be at a meeting in another county and they are hosting lunch. I went to a conference last week and picked the huge portion of meat out of the bread and tortilla wrap and was full. Not sure what they are serving for lunch but I should be ok. It's among friends so I don't feel embarrassed to pick apart my food lol.

Tonight is a late night for me with my kids at dance class. Last week I waited to eat and got home and was starving. Today i'm having another hamburger patty if i'm hungry before I leave work. Getting home at 7:30 can be tough if you are hungry. But the plan for dinner is kielbasa!! love it. and it heats up so quick I should be ok. I'm adding some more protein in today so I won't be dying by tonight of starvation. (is that possible - some days it feels like it). I'm also not sleeping very well. My son has been coughing and my husband making this weird snoring sounds and once I wake up im up. ugh!

The atkins frozen meals have 1000+ sodium in them, I bought a few and they also have less food in them than a lean cuisine. I was like, all this for that. LOL. i'd rather eat a rotisserie chicken for the same amount of sodium and it's so much better than two bites of steak and broccoli.

But, on another note I love the shakes, some bars and the new chocolate m&m type candies. On the day when I really need something these come in handy. There are a lot in the little bag too. not for daily use but for my purse, and when everyone around you is eating valentine day candy.

I have never seen the Atkins frozen entrees anywhere, and I have looked for them. I would never buy them anyway since my family is vegetarian, but I was curious and wanted to have a look at the ingredients and nutritional info.

On the other hand I just had to do something I haven't done in a long, long long time. I stocked up on Atkins bars and shakes. Because this weekend I am going on a retreat! It is supposed to rain and I am bummed because I was hoping to enjoy the hot springs there. Maybe it will stop raining just long enough to soak in the springs at night for an hour or two, after the seminars and dinner are over.

I have been there before and the vegetarian meals are amazing, but they are NOT low-carb. So I will eat the eggs and the vegetables, and maybe the meat substitutes if they are not grain-based, but that is pretty much all I can eat. So I am bringing a little cooler with hard-boiled eggs and cheese sticks, broccoli & celery sticks, and a bunch of Atkins products. Even if I stall for a few days, or even for a week, at least I will not be completely derailed. Especially not after working so hard on my fat fast this week.

Here's my latest stats:

2/1: 154.4
2/3: 153.8
2/6: 153.6
2/7: 152.4
2/10: 151.4
2/13: 150.6
2/15: 149.8
2/16: 149.6
2/19: 148.6
2/22: 148.0
2/23: 147.0
2/24: 147.4

On the amazing side: this morning my blood ketones were the highest they have ever been in my entire life. Which means the fat fast has worked its magic and I am deep, deep, deep in ketosis. My blood ketones this morning were 4.4 mmol/l, which is actually a bit too high. My blood sugar was 80 so no worries about ketoacidosis. Just some freakin' amazing fat burning going on! I didn't think that was even possible for my body! My metabolism is apparently really resistant and my liver was holding on tight to some glycogen stores. Which will probably happen again even though I keep my carbs between 20-30 on UpDays and <15 on DOwnDays. So I think I will do a fat fast once a month.

However, with all the extra calories my weight has inched back up a bit, which is unusual for me. It seems I have benefited all I can from my three day fat fast so today is going to be a regular (uber-low-carb) DownDay:

GG's Crispbread with a Laughing Cow wedge for breakfast
Hard boiled egg & celery for lunch
Omelet for dinner

Veggie broth, herbal tea, Crystal Light, and sugar-free jell-o as needed.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I weighed myself this morning and had lost 3 lbs!!! I've decided I'm gonna stay on induction for at least 3-4 months. I actually don't find it that hard.

Not sure what is going on, but I've not been off plan. I have had no appetite and am afraid I'm not getting enough calories. A lot of time I will only have one (rarely two) meals a day. but I'm just NOT HUNGRY!

I do know that I need more water. Have to work on that!

Of course I'm hungry, but with JUDDD, you get used to being hungry on DownDays. Hunger is not a huge problem for me. My blood sugar is rock-solid stable so I don't get lows or highs just from one day of semi-fasting. So I'm fine as long as I eat just before bedtime. I know conventional wisdom says not to do that but I can't sleep if my stomach is empty; I mean, I will have full-on insomnia, so on DownDays I eat my last meal just before I go to bed. Sometimes during the day on DownDays, if I just can't stand the hunger, I will eat an extra GG's Scandinavian Crispbread cracker with Walden Farms jelly (GG's are 95% fiber so they really fill you up) or I will drink some psyllium husks, or I will tank up on vegetable broth and celery sticks.

But usually when I am hungry on DownDays, I comfort myself by reminding myself that tomorrow is an UpDay and I can eat all I want then.

Oh I see, I thought you were eating like this everyday lol. I felt bad for you, but it's great you have days where you can eat what you like (induction wise).
