Good morning All:

Hope you all had a nice weekend. My scale started moving again. Very happy about that. Maybe due to the brakes being on during the first couple weeks? Who knows with this??
Have a mamm in an hour and then gonna stop in and speak to my insurer to see if I can talk him into writing off my car. Not sure how he could say no when I show him the numbers show a savings to them??? What a way to start the day, never mind a Monday!!
My ds birthday is coming up and I offered to buy him a new 3 pc suit from Tip-Top Taylors. He's doing well in school, a 4.5 gpa and made the dean's list so I'm very proud of him and hopefully the suit will be a kick start for his career journey.

Anyway, I hope you all see good numbers on your scales today!!

It was a beautiful day yesterday so I let the kids play outside after everyone was stuck inside for 3 days being sick. But it backfired and everyone was up again all night long. One vomiting and the other coughing her lungs out to the point of almost vomiting. So both kids are home from school again today. There won't be any exercising for me today, just sleep hopefully.

James, I forgot to respond to one of your earlier post about the xbox. In my house the girls are the gamers. My husband doesn't get the fascination. I think its important because this is where are future is headed. But also its been a great bonding experience for me and the kids. You'll have to let me know how you like the xbox one and how it compares to the 360.

Well, I survived the lasagna and hockey rink tour this weekend! I ended up just telling our hostess about my dilemma, and that I'd decided to eat it anyway, as it was just so good. The recipe is called "World's Best Lasagna". I figured once wouldn't kill me. Then she hauled out dessert for hubby's birthday..... Anyway, glad to see how many other people are on the Vitamin C daily train, whether it's mind over matter, who knows, but it really works for our family. I'm up a couple of pounds today but I expected that, so I'm right back on super low carb again. I have found using hwc in my tea (just a teaspoon or so) instead of skim milk cuts 3 or 4 carbs right off the top of my morning count, so that is great. Are those one minute flaxseed muffins induction friendly? I don't remember and I really do like them, it's so much like eating a real muffin, especially with cream cheese melting on them. Don't want to blow up though. What else do those of you who have Zoodlers use them for? I bought some more zucchini, so we'll have that in Alfredo sauce one night this week, but those veggie carbs add up when you're trying to keep super low. I love the comment about drinking your body weight in Pina Coladas. You only live once, right? Can't go all that way and not enjoy your holiday, and it sounds like you did well on everything else, which I think is what this WOE is all about. Balance. The photo of fat vs. muscle is really neat to see. My 16 year old daughter is very self conscious of her weight compared to the skinny little things she goes to school with who don't play hockey. They did a weigh-in for a project in health class the other week - I was going to kill the gym teacher. I've told my daughter it's muscle weight, now I can show her, so thank you for posting those photos. And how do you remember who everyone is on here?!?! I need to take Cole's notes. Every time I read something, I think I have to reply to Sandy, or James, or PrincessMommy, and then when I start typing, it all goes out of my head who said what! You guys are good!

I've been slaying on the induction and in the gym. I did cheat tho this weekend and had a gin & soda at the bar tho . Only had one tho and sipped water after that. Not having more than one drink is so hard, but I'm glad I stuck to my guns.

Got to enjoy eating at Chipotle, too. Love how they're so Atkins friendly.

Princessmommy -
Hang in there! I always stay away from beans, Atkins Bars & any soda or carbonated beverages, since they do make you bloated & can add 2-3 lbs of water weight!

Hockeymom...That made me so mad about that teacher weighing the children....I think that is so disgusting, I think kids have it hard enough as it is with magazines etc....not a lot makes me mad but that really got to me....it could even make some kids start bullying other kids that are heavier with name calling....that is really awful....well I did write a lot more but deleted it.....ok rant over lol.
I totally agree with you when I read new posts on this thread I think oh I should definitely respond to that but by the time I get to the end of the new posts I realize there are to many lol....

Good morning all, this morning was pretty good for me. I think my body is in rejecting crud mode because I don’t really feel sick but I can equalize my sinus / ears. Jumped on the scale and found that I lost 6 pounds last week so my little experiment worked I believe. Therefore I plan on doing the exact same thing this week to see if I can get a repeat.

My goal was to see 192 by the end of February so I must say this was a good month and I still have 4 days to go!

As for the class I learned lavender oil is good for healing wounds, don’t have a wound to try it on but I will once I start trail running. I learned that frankincense oil is amazing at repairing things but VERY expensive, It can even repair scars, DNA etc. I learned that oregano oil is supper potent and the only thing clinically proven to kill virus within the blood cells which is probably what your sister used. I am currently trying that out to kick this cold out. Much more but those stand out the most. I also will be diffusing in my office a combo to see if I can break this ridiculous cold/sickness spree that has been a huge part of my year. One of the pitfalls of working in a medical facility and having kids attend 2 separate school/daycare's. I think the baby’s exposer to meth and more in uteral and a cracked skull at 2 days because someone thought giving a crack head a baby in treatment was a good idea has resulted in a low immune system because he catches everything.

princessmommy – maybe you were holding a rock when you got on scale?

BulldogMom – The new one does have better graphics, the interaction between TV and games is nice. The ability to stop playing a game and it keeps your place without having to save is AWSOME. But as far as children are concerned with the exception of the car racing game I am not sure there are any kid friendly titles out there just yet. I guarantee the one I am playing is not. It probably would not hurt to wait until xmas when the price will drop and more titles are available. I think there will be a surge of releases in March but I am not sure. I stay with one game for months so it will be a while before I am looking for a new one.

HockeyMum – You could not possibly have had the worlds best lasagna unless she called my mom in Kentucky and got her recipe. Just saying! I personally would have had that gym teachers head on a stick. Girls have enough to deal with without that kind of thing going on.

snooks86 – good on ya. How are you finding muscle recovery without the carb load?

Anywho, loose on and keep truckin on!

James

James....Thank you, that was amazing to read all about the oils, I should get a book I think as it is just so interesting, I have both lavender and frankincense oil, I actually make my own face cream and always put a few drops of frankincense in, it stinks though lol....definitely going to get a book I think...another new hobby is on the horizon...wow two new hobbies coming up, this thread is amazing....I have been reading a lot about that oregano oil as well, it is really interesting, I think I will have to research it more. anyway thanks...by the way do you think diffusing oils or whatever it is called really helps, did they mention that at your meeting......sorry if I am being a bug, I could research it really lol.

James
Thanks for the info! Now I'm curious as to which game you're playing. Most of my games that I play aren't kid friendly either. I have a zombie Kinect game that I thought would be great for exercise. Still haven't tried it though since I have to make sure the kids are out of the house. The kids are into the lego games, Disney Infinity and a bunch of Kinect games. But from what I understand the 360 games should work on the xbox one right?

Sorry I'm late in welcoming you to the group. Sounds like you are doing awesome! I'm glad you mentioned Chipotle since I had completely forgotten about them. I love that place and might have to make a trip there soon.

Good news: had a quick, relatively painless mamm this morning. The tech was amazing.

Bad news: went to insurer and really pissed her off that I was so arrogant to suggest to them that my car should maybe be written off. She treated me like "how dare you question our decision!!" Oh my!! So I guess as a rate payer, I have to take it up the tail pipe (no pun intended) whatever their decision is. This is what happens when you have gov't offices with a monopoly!! Then I called the auto body shop to get them to put a hold on parts and now they're ticked off with me. Geez!!

Bonnyjean at first when I read your post I thought it sounded like the insurance people weren't going to help, but then you wrote that you have told the auto body shop to put a hold on the parts....does that mean they are thinking about it....glad the mamo went good....

I am getting super excited, Sandy! And terrified about maintaining!! 13.6 to my goal. Heck, I might even hit my 147 ultimate February goal. And that was a pie in the sky kind of goal to set for myself.

So I just verbally agreed to be a part of a team for a Spartan Sprint Race in May. Ill know for sure it is a go when I see people buying tickets. It is on my bucket list, I have wanted to do a mud run for years so this is a good thing.

Sandy1 – If you are for reals ganna get into this make sure you read about the oil grades. Companies like DoTerra and I think there is another one other that has Certified Pure Therapeutic Grad. The FDA allows companies to put 100%pure as long as 10% of the oil in their product is 100% otherwise your just wasting time and money. Also if you spend time on youtube there is a medical doctor that talks about the studies they do and how select hospitals are using different oils for different things. The diffusing does work depending on what it is you using and why. I personally will be doing one oil that kills air born pathogens and one of the citrus for mood and clarity which is kinda foo foo but Ill try anything once.

HockeyMum i'm so sorry about the PE teacher! I Always opt out when they say they're going to do BMI's at my kids school! Both my kids are bigger. DD has gotten chunkier since she started puberty.

Did I mention I like your quote in your signature? She told me they'd have to do this big review and they'll let me know. I told her I don't really care if they buy it or fix it, the numbers just looked better to salvage it. She acted like "joe public" shouldn't be that informed on their processes. OMG! The 'holier than thou' attitude!!!

Congrats on the huge achievements!!

.. And everyone else as well.. So many good successes this month!

Man did I screw up this weekend.. I didn’t even weigh myself this morning because I just don’t want to know.
I’ve actually decided to take the week off weighing as I’m afraid it might depress me and push me further into my ‘cheating’

Feeling back on track today (although starving.. usual meal just isn’t cutting it, but I’ll just starve through)
Going to hit the treadmill tonight and do up some salmon and beans for dinner.. Hope to get this scale back down for my month end Friday weigh in!

Bonny Jean...isn't that awful really that they just expect you to go along with things and that really you shouldn't be knowledgeable ...horrible woman...so much for getting a kind old lady lol.....still so they are going to review it, that could be good, and at least it wasn't a flat out no....so there is still hope....I wonder how long they are going to take....

James...thank you...that was really interesting to know what 100 percent means...my oils say 100 percent so I just assumed they were, so that was really interesting to read, it just goes to show that I have lots to learn, and I need to know how good my oils are, thanks again for taking the time to let me know.....I want to try diffusing now lol......By the way what is a mud run? sounds like fun, my foot slipped in the mud today, we were walking down the foresty kind of walk with the dogs and I was balancing on stones to try and cross this really muddy bit, of course I kind of fell in, at least 6 inches deep, its the best laugh I have had in ages lol, I would love to run in mud lol.

Got home to find a msg on the machine that are INDEED repairing the car. She also mentioned there's about $500 for extras. Well, the body shop told me last Thurs that it will probably be another $1000. so will my insurer push the envelope and pay it or will my body shop be looking for used parts from a wrecker to keep within the allowed amount so they don't lose the job!!!! My suggestion saw it costing them about 4 grand but I guess they'd rather pay 7?
Doesn't sound very fiscally responsible to the public but no surprise, really!
