Sandy: The car was estimated at 5500. to fix and the body shop said add another 1000. or so. Now the cost to repair is almost the value. The only reason they fixed it last year was due to low mileage which again they thought was km's. It doesn't go into the shop till Mar 3rd so I still have time to talk to them, I guess. Yeah, I agree the body shop is NOT the ones to talk to cause they'll be losing 6500 dollars on that!! I have to be careful how I word things. Don't want to make them feel stupid that they didn't notice the big, white MPH right above the odometer!!!

Arb: Nice drop btw!

Good morning! Another beautiful day in Virginia. We hit 60 degrees yesterday and it was so nice! Stayed on plan and got rid of the bloat from eating cake the day before. Going to make a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a LC bagel for breakfast. Been waking up hungry lately, which is unusual for me.

Bonny, maybe just call the car shop and the insurance company and clarify the mileage issue? Sounds like just that may change their decision since they based it on low mileage. Good luck with it!

I hope everyone has a great day!

So you only have a week to get it sorted before its to late and they start fixing it...I would definitely call up the insurance people, hopefully you will get a really nice sweet kind lady who would understand, in my mind whether they pay the money to the garage to get it fixed or to you to pay for another car, they still have to pay out the same money, so maybe they won't mind once you tell them about the mileage...either way it isn't going to make any difference to them...its got to be worth a shot hasn't it....I would give it a go at least so you know in your mind that you tried.....and if it doesn't work out you still have a very sweet convertible.....

If they take my suggestion it will actually save them about 2-3 thousand, so don't know how they can ignore that. The car can be salvaged and sold at a salvage sale, usually for about 50% of it's repaired value so buying it from me would be the best deal for the rate payers!! I'll call them tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks... and thanks Julie.

I don't even know where to begin with the responses. Glad to see everyone doing well!

James, I hope you and your kiddo are doing better! We are battling the crud too. Funny how colds always morph into pink eye and GI issues.

Mthergoos, You are so awesome in everything you do! I hope when you reach your goal, you continue to post on the monthly challenge threads. We need your kind of inspiration and advice.

Everyone else, you are doing awesome with the losses! Thanks for the support! One kid is feeling better and the youngest and I should be doing better by tomorrow. Just in time for my husband to catch what we have. I'm going to ramp up my exercises tomorrow since I always end up with a more positive attitude when I'm done. I'll be adding a Jillian Michaels workout. Right now my next 5k looks like it will be in June unless I find an interesting one to do before then. I've got to cracking!

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks so much for all the kind words! BulldogMom, I'm definitely NOT going anywhere. These last 20 pounds will be coming off SLOWLY I'm sure, and then I have maintenance to battle. That's scary in itself!

I'm another one that takes 1000 mg of Vit C every day and I also take Garlic because I've read a lot about it boosting the immune system. My BF has COPD, and he used to get one really good cold every year that would last for weeks, but since we've started the vitamins, neither of us have really been sick at all.

Shelly, you are really doing great. Like Bonny said, what did you change????

Bonny, good luck with the car! I agree, call them and politely point out the mileage and hope that will change their minds!

I once had a car repaired that was $5 short of the total loss value. But it really WAS low mileage and I LOVED my van so I wanted it back. Call the insurance company! If it's that close it would be better for everyone involved to just let it go.

Did a mini fat fast yesterday because I felt like my metabolism was getting sluggish. I had never done a fat fast of any kind so this was new for me.

It seems to have worked! I ate far, far more calories than I usually do, but it was all fat, and I am seeing results. But eating all that fat made me feel nauseous and I am not sure I want to do it three days in a row. Bleah. Still, I think three days will net me better results; maybe I can get deeper into ketosis if I stick with it for three days... hmmm... still deciding...

Morning Folks,
Another sunny weekend here. And yes, I was out tupperware hunting in my snowshoes again; unsuccessfully. For those in the audience unaware of this hobby, google: Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site
You'll be surprised how many caches are in your area.
Well, went over to my buddy's place last night & had two rye & cokes. Head felt like a the little drummer boy was in there
Hopefully I haven't been knocked out of ketosis
Geez, you can't afford to blink in this forum. Seems the fat vacuum has been visiting several of you
So did Missy fall of the map?

PaleoGuy, I think Missy was having a tough month. I'm hoping she'll be back soon, really miss her and all of her great information!

My sister and her hubby do a LOT of geocaching! Not in the snow though! LOL

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

I have heard of geocaching before, several friends do it. I just didn't realize there was Tupperware involved. It does make sense though, keeps the items moisture free!

I'm back! Omg, seriously, 18 pages from when I went on hols to coming back!

I did have an internet connection whilst in cancun, but, frankly, I felt very guilty contributing when I was drinking my body weight in pina coladas...

Everyone has been so busy and doing so well, congratulations!

Well, weirdly, I have come back at pretty much the same weight which is just bizarre! The first week, I was mostly good and had the odd slice of banana bread and no deserts. I think I had in total, 10 pina coladas for the week plus went to the hotel gym, rode a bike for the first time in 20yrs and went swimming in the ocean.

The second week, I was in my posh hotel and got my monies worth of pina coladas - like 10 a day... But I also indulged in a bit of bread (only a couple small rolls at dinner) but also had some onion rings and a few ribs in bbq sauce. But was good at other times - having grilled burgers topped with guacamole and just a side salad.

So as of today, starting back at 76.8kg. I've uploaded a photo but no idea if it will work here. I took it at the hotel on one of the work days. I fit into my dress so was very happy as the week before, had a completely unexplained bloat and couldn't even do it up!

To a successful end in Feb to everyone! Back soon when I've had more of a chance to catch up with everyone on here.

Forgot to say Sandy, if you're ever in London, you must go to Burger and Lobster, it has three things on the menu - a massive burger, a lobster roll, or a 1.5lb lobster (steamed or finished on the grill). All come with salad and chips. And each is £20. Can highly recommend it! I get the steamed lobster with plain butter (they do garlic), and two salads - and usually we split a third lobster!

They also do the burger carb-free - Bonny, they take about four iceberg lettuce leaves under and over the burger and contents which is thick enough to hold it all together. (If I'm at BK or somewhere else, I just eat my burger with a knife and fork when not wrapped in lettuce.

And also, Graig's Farm in Wales, is an organic family run farm who sell online - you can get carb free meat only sausages from them in a variety of meats which are all excellent.

Thank you MtherGoos! I really love your before and after photos, you have done so amazingly well!!!

I think I'm more happy with my tan than my dress fitting, but hey!

Two dress sizes to go then will be happy. I think that dress is a US 10 and of course is supported by Spanx!

But back to normal immediately. Had lobster and butter with salad, then four double cheeseburgers the next day with a snack of pate in rolled lettuce, and today, prawn cocktail (with a mayo based sauce with lc ketchup) on shredded lettuce, and about to cook up my cajun chicken with peppers and mushrooms.

I forget who it was who said about their noodler, I really want one now!!!

Yay Tiggy! Welcome back too!

The only things I changed was eatting less and carbs too. Like eggs and bacon for breakfast, a steak or chicken thighs for lunch then a smaller supper and earlier then I used to. Maybe my body is finally wanting to stop gaining from quitting smoking? My SIL who quit with me said she's finally quit gaining. But she needed to gain! Whatever the reason I am So Thankful!

Not sure if this pic will come out right, but I found it on another thread and thought it was pretty cool.

Ahhh it didn't come out right, but if you click on the link you can see the pic....

It kind of made me see that when we have only lost one pound in one week how amazing that still is.

Sandy1: be warned, it's a very addictive hobby.
Tiggy: you're rocking that dress
I didn't like the #'s staring back at me this afternoon; DW said it was most likely due to the rye & cokes last night so I'll check in again next Saturday.
Pants still feel comfortable
Can't believe the weekend is over already.

Sandy1; I go out at least 1xweek with some buddies. For some reason, most of our DW's only let us out of sight for that long

Hockymom – My wife is a rep for DoTerra (I don’t think there is a competing therapeutic grade oil company on this site) So I have been working with them I am sure it is why the last few weeks I did not get sick but it comes from me at every turn both at work and at home. It’s not bad right now. I will know by tomorrow if it is here to stay

Sandy – The thing with a (Pick an oil) oil is the amount of good stuff in a drop is an insaine amount of the plant you would have to consume.

CdnPaleoGuy Ohhhhh now I know what you’re talking about. All you had to say was GPS, I figured you were in the boonies going homestead to homestead asking people if they would sell you their Tupperware!

Today I went to an essential oil class at a hippy coffee shop. I got their own blend of coffee in a French press I put two Splenda which later I found to be too much but I must say that it was BY FAR the best cup of coffee I had ever had! Oh and I learned a thing or two to boot. Now I am going to the store to find some food for the week.

TTFN - James

Scales are moving yippee...I kind of changed my eating plan yesterday to something I have done before, anyway whatever works is good lol.

James I would have loved to have gone to that class, things like that are so fascinating, and I had an experience once that made me believe in oils.....it was about 7 years ago and I had really bad bronchitis and my sister had all these oils and she had some small stones, she spent ages mixing and playing around and then before I went to sleep she put these little stones on my chest....and I know it sounds like I am making this up but when I woke up the next morning I was completely better, I have never had anything like that happen before in my life, it was just weird......did you learn anything cool?

Happy Monday everyone......
