Just popping in real quick. Everyone in the house is sick from something. You name it, we've got it. None of us have gotten much sleep and we're just eating whatever appeals to us. So needless to say, I haven't gotten on the scale and not looking forward to it when I do. Congrats to everyone losing and staying on plan!

Morning, er afternoon!Since I am cooking up some stuff today I thought I would make a proper breakfast. I was going to have a 4 egg and cheese omelet. When I got was cheese scrambled eggs. I kinda forgot to butter the pan.

Baby is eating so I think the worst is over. But I feel congested so I cant wait to see what I am catching.

Have a great day!

Thanks Bonny! How did I miss your post this morning???? Too much to keep up with! LOL No, I didn't go down a shoe size, but my shoes are looser. I always wear a size 9 Wide. The bones on the sides of my feet stick out and make my feet wide no matter how much weight I lose, but my shoes are definitely looser.

Maybe it was just a big shoe!!
But seriously, for the last 20+ yrs I've been wearing an 8 or 7.5 wide. Today I bought a 7.5 and a 7... interesting. I've never heard of feet changing other than widening. Hmm, whatever, eh!!

I think the exercise of this crazy challenge certainly hasn't hurt my efforts. I have been 100% on plan this month (with the exception of the 2 pizza slices on the first when I didn't even eat most of the crust--stupid cheese!). I will NOT be making that mistake on the first of the March!!!!

I have lost a shoe size or so since I began LC. After I had kids, I was an 8.5, sometimes a 9 in shoes. Now I am solidly a size 8 shoe, occasionally even a 7.5. So weird, but it was an excuse to buy cute new shoes since all the old ones kept falling off!

Afternoon All.
Wow, the scales is smiling on several of you this weekend.
I had a desire for sandwiches today for lunch so I made another batch of oopsies rolls. My DW managed to find the lowest carb ham at Costco so I used that plus a slice of tomato with a tbsp of Hellmans. It was sooo good that I had two of them
After several long snowshoe hikes this morning with my buddies looking for tupperware, I come home to find out my DW wants everyone to go to the gym. Oh well, have no idea what I did this time but have some soreness in left arm around the elbow. Must of done one of the exercises wrong.
After picking up junior, we both got haircuts. Of course I get told I'm thinning more
DW says it's time to up the gelatin/bone broth & possibly some biotin. I think just getting a crew-cut will do it

My feet definitely get fat or skinny depending on my weight. Just yesterday my husband remarked that my feet were starting to look "cute and skinny" again.

I am less than 15 pounds to my goal weight and I am starting to get nervous about going on to maintain. Weight loss is hard, keeping it off is harder! I need to go dig up my Atkins '72 book and see what it has to say about it.

I already do IF (and have for around 6 months). I eat in my 8 hour window and that's it, I'm done for the day.

Still not satisfied but the best so far. Having such problems getting the sauce to stick to the chicken. O well.

did about 1300 cals 5 carbs and no exercise. I want to but I can feel a cold coming on and I dont want to break my body down any so I can fight it off.

So far this week I have been right on plan so I am curious as to how it will translate on the scale Monday morning.

I have baby fine hair that grows really slow. I started taking 5,000 mcg of Biotin everyday about a year and a half ago. My hair grows really fast now, it's thicker and now my nails are super tough!

One of these years, I'm going to make some Oopsie rolls! Not sure when, but darn it, I will.

I actually know lots of people that own snowshoes...we're weird here in Upstate NY!

** WHY YOU MAY BE GAINING WEIGHT !!!! **

This explains a lot!
I have actually lost 2" off my hips & waist in the last 3 weeks, yet the scale shows a 2-3 lb increase, depending on when I weigh! I am now focused on my measurements and am close to my goal of 36-26-36, regardless of whether I reach my 140 lb goal.

"Why the Scale Goes Up When You Start a New Workout Plan"

By Chalene Johnson (fitness expert)

Probably the most common question I get when I release a new exercise program is, "Help! I'm gaining weight! Am I doing something wrong?" This is a common phenomenon with any new exercise program, such as Turbo Kick, Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Hustle, or others! It's especially common (and temporary) with intense strength training programs like ChaLEAN Extreme or Tony Horton's P90X.

The motivation to start a new exercise program is almost always to lose weight. However, what most personal trainers know--and most at-home exercisers do not--is that a new exercise program often can cause an immediate (and temporary) increase on the scale. (Notice I didn't say weight gain! I'll explain.) This common increase in the scale is also the reason why perhaps millions of people start and then quickly quit their resolution to get fit.

The temporary weight gain explained:
When someone starts a new exercise program, they often experience muscle soreness. The more intense and "unfamiliar" the program, the more intense the muscle soreness. This soreness is most prevalent 24 to 48 hours after each workout. In the first few weeks of a new program, soreness is the body trying to "protect and defend" the effected or targeted tissue. Exercise physiologists refer to this as delayed-onset muscle soreness, or DOMS.

This type of soreness is thought to be caused by tissue breakdown or microscopic tears in muscle tissue. When this happens, the body protects the tissue. The muscle becomes inflamed and slightly swollen due to fluid retention. This temporary retention of fluid can result in a 3- to 4-pound weight gain within a few weeks of a new program. Keep in mind that muscle soreness is not necessarily a reflection of how hard you worked. In fact, some people feel no signs of muscle soreness, yet will experience the muscle protection mechanisms of water retention and slight swelling.

Most people are motivated enough to put up with this temporary muscle soreness. Yet, many, especially those who really need immediate weight loss to keep them motivated, become discouraged and quit!

When I worked with a group of 70 test participants during the development stages of ChaLEAN Extreme, this happened. Who was the most upset and discouraged? You guessed it... the women! I'm happy to report absolutely for every single woman (and man) in our group, the weight increase was temporary and never lasted more than two weeks before they started to see a major drop in the scale. However, these people had the advantage of working with someone who was able to explain to them why this was happening and assure them the weight would come off if they stuck to the nutrition plan and stayed true to the program.

If you follow a multi-phase exercise plan, such as ChaLEAN Extreme, keep in mind that when you start each phase, your body will be "in shock" again. Don't be surprised or discouraged if you experience a temporary gain on the scale the first week of each phase.

My own personal example of this is running 10Ks. I don't do it very often, maybe once or twice a year. Even though I run on a regular basis, when you run a race, you push much harder. It's natural for me to be insanely sore the next day. Its also very common for me to see the scale jump 4 pounds the next day from forcing fluids post race and the resulting DOMS. Even though I know the cause of it, it's still a bummer. We're all human and hard work should mean results. Hard work equals results, but our bodies are amazing machines and they know how to protect us from hurting ourselves. Soreness forces you to give those muscles a break. Ultimately you will lose the weight and you will change your metabolism in the process.

The key is understanding that this is a normal and temporary and stick with the program!

When to be concerned:
If you experience a significant weight gain (exceeding 5 pounds) that does not begin to decrease rapidly after the second week, guess what it is? I'll give you one hint... you put it in your mouth and chew it. You know it! Your food (or calorie-laden beverages). News flash, friends exercise doesn't make you gain weight. Consuming more food than you burn makes you gain weight!

So if after two weeks you are not losing weight and have gained weight that's not coming off, it's time to take a close and honest look at your food intake. Start using ***********'s Nutrition Tracker regularly, and be honest.

Moral of the story:
Be patient young grass hopper. You'll be lean and mean in no time!

James, get some Vitamin C, 1000 mg, and some Oil of Oregano oil. take a dropper full of the oil in a little bit of water every hour for about 6 hours, take the Vit C every hour all day too, your cold will either not take hold at all, or will be gone in a day or 2. Take 1000 mg of Vit C every day for your immune system and you won't ever pick up anything. I have both my kids doing this as they are in arenas and around teammates all the time, I do it too, neither one of them or me have been sick for 2 years. Hubby thinks I'm a nutjob with this, but guess who got the REALLY bad cold this winter that took 10 days to get over? I learned it from a naturopath and it really works. Hope you and your baby feel better. And a huge congrats to one full year with no cheats to Mothergoose, what an amazing accomplishment!

I take 1,000 milligrams of Vitamin C daily and have for years. I got my first cold in 4 years last fall and it was here and gone faster than any other cold I'd ever had. From onset to feeling back to my old self took 5 days. Before that if I got a cold, it was around 10 days or so and I was beyond miserable. I swear by it.

Guess it's just you and me Sandy. Good morning and nice drop by the way. We've lost the same this month so far!! I'm not a believer in vitamins and only taking magnesium to ease these nightly leg cramps and it doesn't work most nights. I am blessed with an awesome immune system (Thank you Jesus) as most of my life, my diet has been horrendous, no veggies, very little fruit.. meat & potatoes and a lot of junk food but never or rarely get sick (knock wood). Even my doctor used to look for weight related problems but never found any!! Can't remember the last cold and the last flu was in 1996. A co-worker did share her bronchitis 2 yrs ago but that's it.
Thank God, eh!

Good morning everyone: I'm back to obsessing about this car and really need some advice..... now I want them to write it off except they said they're gonna fix it? WTH?? How do I contact them to advise them it's American and showing miles not km's on the odometer. They said my mileage is extremely low but they think the car has 55 kms but it's actually 91 km's?? I don't know how to tactfully suggest they should consider buying the car from me and salvaging it??? It would be money for me to look for another and it would save them about 2-3K. PM me if you prefer.

Morning Bonny....you are lucky having a great immune system, funny how some people get sick and some don't, my hubby is the same, never takes vitamins never gets sick, whereas I was always getting colds etc before taking my vit c, although I did smoke so maybe that's why.
Wish I could offer advice with the car thing you have going on, isn't there a phone number you can call where the car is to tell them about the miles on the clock, although if its at a garage its in their interest to fix it as they will make money, so is it the insurance people you need to call.....I guess all of that sounds muddled lol cause I haven't got a clue really.

Hockeymom its funny as I have researching oregano oil this past week, I have heard the oil is amazing....I keep trying to use the spice more in my cooking but I'm not sure its as good as taking the oil...do you have any idea?
