A "kid" (I think he's 29 now) from my hometown plays for the LA Kings and is on the US Olympic team. We're a big hockey town between Cornell University and our local high school winning the state championship many times.

Oh how I wished I liked seafood. I know it's so good for us. The only thing I like is haddock and chips, English style. I'm sure Sandy will know what I mean. Wrapped in newspaper and lots of malt vinegar. Making myself hungry thinking about it. Might have to look for a low carb version to make.

And James, if my son is lucky enough to be drafted this year, I'll hope it's to Colorado. But you can explain to my husband what I'm doing behind the bathrooms buying illicit drinks from/with some guy I met online !

I So wish my Husband liked Sea Food! I Love Love it but he doesn't at all. My kids love it too.
My Son had a checkup this afternoon. He's 17 geez! Crazy! There is a history of heart problems on both sides of our families so I like to make sure Both kids get checkups. My son is now 6'0 and 219 lbs. Everything was Great, heart etc. What I found strange was they checked his Cholesterol! First time ever so it struck me weird. It came back perfect. Dr after him to exercise more which I understand But when you get home from school @ 4:30pm then do homework, eat supper, shower then bed when ya gonna fit much else in?

princessmommy both my older kids were told that they had to play a sport in school. It could be one, it could be many. Did not care what it was but they had to pick one. My son chose football which with the information I know now I will not be allowing my two little ones do. My daughter did everything.

AND I ran up to see if my smaller jeans fit and, well, they DO! not suck in my belly and count to three hoping I can latch them quickly fit but really fit! Yay me Much better than about to blow through my fat jeans situation I was in last month.

I talked to much today. I will stop now. Time to play with my new toy.

Yay on the jeans!!!
Both our kids have played baseball and soccer. DS played ball until he was 8 and then played soccer until Last yr when he got tired of always sitting the bench on High school soccer!
DD played soccer from age 5 on until a few yrs ago and got bored with it but is wanting to play again so I just sent off her reg to play this spring.
We don't make our kids play but when they make that commitment to play they have to stick with it 100%

I haven't done Atkins since high school, but I'm back on the train doing induction. It's hard for me not to count calories tho.

Breakfast: egg white omelette with spinach, bell peppers, extra sharp cheddar, Thai sausage and a big mug of green tea

midmorning snack: vanilla whey protein shake

Lunch: wild salmon caesar salad (love making my own dressing with mayo, anchovies, garlic, lemon juice, & worcestershire)

midafternoon snack: sliced cucumbers and bell peppers with guacamole

Dinner: leftover sausage and peppers with spinach, tomatoes, red onion, & mushrooms

Wow! So many great losses! Congrats mthergoos, Shelly, gypsy, avaleigh and everyone else who had a loss or just stayed on plan!

Was doing great this week and then yesterday my friends decided on Japanese for lunch and I caved and joined them. Likely wouldn't have been too bad but then we had a small baby shower for a lady in my office after lunch and then I had a small piece of cake. When I go off plan for even a bite, I have a hard time not spending the whole day off plan. It's like a mental switch and when flipped I completely give up for the day. I wish I was stronger! Back on plan this morning so hopefully not too much damage. I'm still avoiding the scale hoping to stay more motivated and not give up when the scale isn't kind.

Supposed to be a nice day, finally! Plan to get outside and get some sun today! We still have snow on the ground but it's supposed to be up to 60 today. Hoping it all melts!

Have a great day!

Whaz up y'all

Good news for so many! Yay.

Welcome Snooks.

Pam: Are we talking about the total decimation by the Cdn's?
Again, something good has to come out what we endure for 4 mons a year!!
Looks like we're still in the deep freeze till well into March. Ugh, enough!!

Looks like my 3700 mg sodium supper bumped me a little. No surprise. Have to ask.... I was suffering leg cramps a few wks back and it was suggested too much water was flushing minerals. I cut back and went on magnesium but 2 wks later, the cramps are back and bad. On Wed I will get test results so it'll be interesting to see if I'm lacking in something. Any other suggestions??

Bonny-Jean, my mother who is very healthy otherwise was suffering major leg cramps and they told her it was a potassium deficiency. She takes Potassium now and they have stopped. I get terrible cramps in my feet if I have a little too much wine and too little water before I go to bed, I think it's dehydration that causes it. Have to get up and walk around in the middle of the night to get rid of them and the second I lie down again they're back! Gee sounds like I have a drinking problem! Honestly, I don't, I just enjoy a glass or 2 in the evenings. James, I'll just tell hubby you were a cop, sure that'll fix everything when he catches me with you surreptitiously drinking wine, ha ha. And woo hoo on the jeans fitting! Keep up the dedication everyone, it is so great to see everyone's results and know that we all have the same temptations and battles. I'm like Julie, if I go off a little bit I go off for the whole day, like a switch going off in my head. Wish me luck with the lasagna tonight... have a great day everyone.

I never eat fruit. In maintenance I will add berries and an occasional half-apple or some of my homegrown mandarins but not in the weight-loss phase.

I bake these cookies and freeze them. I eat ONE choc chip cookies or TWO almond butter cookies on my UpDays for dessert. It is exactly perfect for my sweet tooth. But I eat the cookie slowly and savor it.

Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

No drop and I honestly didn't expect one! Thrilled to hold steady in the 140s.

Welcome, Snooks!

Today marks one full year on plan for me. NO cheats, no slips, just one full year totally on plan. From a 3X in my shirts to a Medium or Large. Can't believe the difference a year makes and I'm so very thankful to have my health back! And I'm thankful to all of you for helping me to get there!
