Welcome Hockeymum! My dh has introduced me to hockey and I LOVE it! Awesome that your son plays. I'm going to have to look up the zoodler. I have a picky 4 yr old and I would love to get more veggies in her diet.

Welcome PrelyHernandez! Great start so far!

Pcaltman, Thanks for the well wishes!

James, sorry about the breakfast fiasco. Can you carry a protein bar with you in case of emergencies? I keep a Quest bar in the car and in my purse.

luveliliz, I think once you become a mom, you make sacrifices for the greater good....liking catching puke if you must. LOL I've been there! You're doing great with your losses!

Gypsy, you're doing great this month! I'd be hopping on that scale every morning too!

Sandy, Atkins bars don't bother me as long as I don't have one every day. In general, the people here don't like the ingredients. But I'd rather eat that than have a regular candy bar.

Sorry if I missed anyone. I kept getting interrupted today so my responses are all over the place! But hugs to everyone struggling. We can get through this!

Morning all,

Hum. Nothing really new. This is the first day the kids go back to school for the whole day, yippy.....Can you tell I am excited

Time to clean bathrooms, make buns for cheeseburger for the kids dinner. Of course hubby and I will have bunless burgers and side salad. Also need to make some homemade ranch for the salad and some vinaigrette dressing too.

Bonny we are getting a heat wave this week as well. It's in the 50*, but will snow again next Tuesday.

Starting to plan my big garden. Cant' wait for fresh organic veggies, salads, carrots and hopefully fruit this year. We are planning on putting in 3 more apple trees, fig tree, apricot tree, and pear tree.

Oh I love my Zoodlers. I make zucchini noodles with it and sauté them with onion and garlic then put meat sauce over. So good That's one of my favorite dinners.

Ok ya'll I couldn't stay away Lol! Thank you all so much for all the Love!! I am Up again today and don't know why! Can to much Protein cause a Gain? I had no breakfast, leftover chicken fajitas No tortillas, steak and brocolli for supper! Water All day. The steak was Big so maybe that caused the gain? I'm clueless as usual. I think after I quit smoking I let myself slide into the " a little won't hurt" mentality kwim? A few tortilla chips Or sf fro-yo etc. I can't do that anymore because i'm sabotoging (sp) myself!

So sorry for everyone who is struggling through such a miserable winter and finding it hard to lose as a result of being all cooped up. Glad to hear a few of you are having "heat waves".

Let's not give up! Every time I have re-gained the weight in the past 20 years it has been because I stopped attending my support group. Don't stop!

Bonny-Jean, does your dog get separation anxiety? You can do a curves style workout at home if you need to. You really don't even need any equipment other than some hand held weights. A little blip on the scale could be anything. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Sandy, Glad to see you sticking around. You've done well this month so far!

Arb, this is the reason why I'm scared to change the battery on my scale. I agree with you about stress and weight. This has probably been one of the worst winters for me and I'm having a difficult time getting back on track. A lot of it has to do with the cold. This is the first year that I've been so cold that nothing I do gets me warm. Spring will be here soon I hope!

pcaltman, My weather guy says Virginia could be in for another major snowstorm around the 24-26th. There's a weather pattern he's keeping an eye on. It could be rain, ice or snow. We haven't gotten hammered like you all but its been enough for me.

Shelly, so glad to see you posting! I'm glad you couldn't stay away.

nikki, You're doing awesome this month!

BulldogMom....I agree about the winter or should I say the month of Feb!!! I don't get it but I feel so depressed that I have even wondered if going too low carb can cause depression?? I've never had a real problem with this before but the last couple of weeks have been bad enough that I'm thinking maybe I need to have a high carb meal to see if that helps......there I go thinking again and why is it always that food is going to solve my problems??? The very reason I am in this shape I guess

February 1: 156.8 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work, 90 minutes of shoveling snow)
February 6: 156.2 (finally a day of rest...not really, I need to shovel some more)
February 7: 156.2 (100!!! squats, arm weights, push ups, a lame plank)
February 8: 155.8 (105 squats, about 10 pushups, another lame plank)
February 9: 155.6 (110 squats, arm weights-focused on triceps)
February 10: 156.2 Sigh (Today is a rest day! No squats for me! Woot!)
February 11: 155.4 (130 squats/arm weights)
February 12: 154.4 (135 squats)
February 13: No w/i (140 squats/arm weights/push-ups)
February 14: 156 (rest day, but shoveled heavy snow for an hour) TOM
February 15: 154.4 (150 squats/arm weights) TOM
February 16: 154.2 (155 squats) TOM
February 17: 153.2 (160 squats/arm weights) TOM
February 18: 152.4 (rest day) TOM
February 19: 151.6 (180 squats/arm weights)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

The weight is flying off this week. It was really not moving much the first couple of weeks, so this is a welcome change. And proof that I just need to hang in there when the weight isn't moving. I have no real ideas about why. My weight is usually stagnant for the TOM week, this week whoosh time. Just wacky how the body works sometimes! Now I'm only up .8 from my previous low on LC. Very exciting.

Shelly, do you have access to a computer so that you can use a tracker at all? I really think that if you could start tracking you might get an idea of where the carbs or extra calories are creeping in. Let you know exactly where you're at, so you know what you need to change. I'm glad you aren't leaving us, it would make us VERY sad! Yes, too much protein can make you gain. Extra protein is stored as glucose and can cause a gain. I'm NOT saying that you're eating too much protein, just answering the question, but I think that's another reason that a tracker of some kind would help, so you know exactly how much protein you are getting.

Bonny, did you have the gain after adding the HWC back in? Yes, I definitely have days where I just feel "skinny". The scale doesn't always agree with me, but it's a nice feeling!

I saw somebody yesterday that I haven't seen in about a year. He said, "Holy Sh**! You look sensational!" It was a very nice feeling! LOL

I had an amazing day on the mainland today, daughters birthday and grandson's 18th birthday, and I didn't touch one smidgen of cake....not one.....wow I am so proud of myself...I knew there was a bit of will power in there somewhere lol.
bonnyjean, That made me laugh when you wrote about the guilt of leaving your dog....its so funny isn't it, I work my life around my dogs so I don't have to leave them hardly at all.... as if I am out having fun I feel guilty lol.....I would much rather spend the day with my dogs walking and giving them good days out than anything else, and if I have to go to town I totally hate walking out the house and leaving them behind, although I do even take them to town with me lol....so I so understood the doggy guilt lol, sometimes I think its just me so its nice that there are other people the same.....

Then as soon as I read your next paragraph I swear we think so alike....as today I had one of those skinny days, I really did feel thinner even though the scales are telling me I'm not lol, but my mirror actually did make me look thinner today as well...weird isn't it.

Arb34...sorry you are having a blip in the scales....I read something ages ago about what you said...stress and weight loss, I am sure it was something like cortisol or something like that which is released when you are stressed and causes you to gain or not lose weight....I have probably got it muddled but it is a thought......

Nikki and Trismama..Gypsy.wow aren't you doing amazing with those whooshes you are having...it is really motivating..
Bulldog mom, mthrgoos, you both always seem to know the right words to say, you are so good with helping us all...just wanted to say thank you.

WTG on not having the cake Sandy!!! Cake is one of my weak spots. I know I will feel like garbage if I eat it, but I love it.

Thankfully no birthdays in the house until DH's on March 17. Since he's LC as well, I think I'll just plan a fabulous surf 'n turf dinner for him. And then the oldest DS on the 27th.

Sorry to all that I am so late in checking in. Between Dr appointments etc I am pretty tired. I did loose 1.5 lbs this last week and did not cheat once. See you all tomorrow, nap time calling, which is unusual for me.

Oh man am I messing up this month with a bad week (up 3lbs since Friday)
Shelly I feel you pains.. Only problem is mine is my own doing.
Somewhere between Friday and today I have lost all control.. Stopped exercising.. Eating ice cream.. Chocolate..
Not really sure what the heck happened!?!?
I am taking my hubby away for the weekend for a surprise and have endless dinners/celebrations in the next couple of days so I think the thought of just letting myself go and enjoying this upcoming weekend has created this 'screw it, i'll get back on track Monday morning' attitude.. Even this morning instead of my usual cheese/pepperoni I took yogurt and granola for breakfast and a salad with dried cranberries & pumpkin seeds in it for lunch?!?!
What am I doing?!?!
I'm all for enjoying some cheats when I want one, but this is getting a little ridiculous. ..Oh and for my hubby’s bday tomorrow for dinner he’s requested either Chinese Food or Spaghetti & Meatballs.
Maybe I do just need to get it out of my system and start nice and fresh Monday?!
BOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo..

Cuda, you can do a LOT of damage between now and Monday. I would do my best to stay on track, and just save your cheats for the most important days.

Rant O the Day!

I told you there is a lot of food at my work. Well today they had a potluck which, as usual, was 80 percent deserts and 20 percent actual food. i did not attend as they expected from me not because I am not sociable, not because I could have prepared something and brought it in, more because I kinda think you should work during work and I dont want to cook for 20+ people.

So they did there thing and I watched reception. Went to a meeting etc., clocked out for lunch and walked to my office. Turns out the conference room was needed for a meeting with the public so they decided to hide a conference table worth of food in my meeting room which is part of my office.

They now know I am not pleased. I think they truly have no confusion about my boundaries now. Said food was quickly relocated to the grazers office.

Now back to work and listening to really loud karaoke.

Cudabear it's a Lot of my own doing too! I gotta take responsiblity for my mess ups.

Thanks Mthrgoos! I reRead my food I posted and the Fajitas were Lunch Lol the steak and brocolli were supper. It read like I ate all that at once lol! The steak was BIG.

Today has been a better day even with the gain on the scale. I took some old clothes and shoes to the Goodwill and just happened to see my SIL there. She's a hair stylist and supposed to do our hair saturday but she had time today so I got my hair did! Highlights and a cut. I feel like a new woman!
Breakfast: coffee with 1 sausage patty
lunch Was supposed to be a sonic double bacon burger But when I took bun off there was a Nasty Long black hair in the mayo-lettuce! About barfed! *shudder* so I ended up eatting jalepeno poppers with breading off.
Supper is water with Ribs bbq'd last night.

Geez, don't check the forum for a day or two & you miss all the fun. Nice to see Shelly didn't give us all the heave ho.
Where the heck is Missy hiding or did I scan the posts too quick
Ended up at an Italian buffy for lunch; ate lots of fat, some meatballs, salad & two very small spoonfuls of pasta. Covered the pasta in cheese & red pepper flakes.
Like I said, belt is down a notch & I'm under 260 now. Did someone say that the coconut oil in my morning coffee could be something that would slow down the fat loss?
to some more newcomers. HockeyMum; now there's 2 of us from Ontario here
Off to the gym tonight; DW is off to a book club.

Missy....where did you go....I know on the 12th you wrote that things weren't going to well, I think you were retreating....its something I do as well....as soon as life gets me down instead of reaching out I retreat from the world...maybe its something most of us do.....anyway in case you don't think you are being missed...you are.......

Shelley it is so nice seeing you back, your posts are lovely, I am so glad you didn't go MIA, I have to say that is one thing I cannot stand is someone else's hair in my food, the last time it happened I didn't say a word to the waitress as I know its kind of easy done, but its really a bit yuk isn't it....

Thanks Gypsy, it wasn't easy....I love love love chocolate cake as well....by the way are you doing anything different to be dropping the weight, I could really do with any tips you might have.

Luvleliz....wow look at you go....love your loses, or is it losses, ugh I hate that word.

PaleoGuy, no the coconut oil should be fine, it's the HWC that slows SOME people down, but not everyone. Some can tolerate it and some can't, but the coconut oil should be totally fine. I take a Tablespoon of MCT oil every day!

Yes, I've been missing Missy and Laura too! I know DQ is in Florida, so I'm hoping she's posting soon!

No, Bandit probably doesn't care whether I'm gone 8 hrs or 10. It's me! I feel bad enough being gone all day so she was the reason I was thinking of getting a treadmill so I could get a walk/run in and I wouldn't be away from her. She's getting old and tires easy so I can't get anything out of an outdoor walk with her. I lost Buddy last March so she's my everything now.

Surprisingly, I'm not the least concerned about that little blip! I had to go into an office at work that I haven't been in months and one of the girls couldn't believe how different I looked. She said she "heard" I had lost weight but never bumped into me. Wow, what a moment that was. That was a nice "non-scale victory! Told ya I was feeling skinny. Hard to believe the hwc would work that fast but who knows?? After having that last night, I will never give it up again... cut back of course but that's it!!

Happy Wednesday! I had another day on plan and am feeling a little blah. I think it's still the winter blues. It is finally warming up a bit and I'm hoping all the snow melts soon. I'm so ready for Spring! Long day at work and I'm ready for bed!

I hope everyone has a great night! Glad to see you back Shelly! Hugs to everyone!
