Welcome to all the new posters! Stick with us, you found a great group of people!

Mthrgoos - Here's to you losing that 10lbs this month! If anyone can do it, I know you can!!

Shelly, what doctor would say 175 is obese at 5'7??? I am at the sameish height and I wasn't considered obese until I hit 200, just overweight. I hope your dd starts to feel better soon. Anyway, it would definitely help everyone in your home to go at least lower carb.

Wow DQ already at a 4-6!! irl, you are doing GREAT!

Kway, good losses so far and good goals.

Trini, so good to see you online. You are so busy. I guess that helps with weight loss, mind stays occupied.

Thanks Julie.

CDN, my dh hates pork roasts cooked in a slow cooker, but likes it a lot better if cooked in the oven. That alone may make a difference. He says it just gets to lose cooked in a crock pot. The only way he will eat it then is if I make pulled barbQ out of it.

Skinny, I love hearing about all the diets you try out. Keep us posted.

I hope everyone has a wonderful night.

I'd like to jump aboard here too! I have been on induction since Jan 2nd and have lost 20 pounds to date. I'm hoping to lose 15 pounds this month but I'll be glad for any loss. I have spent the last 20 some years trying to get skinny really quickly and where did that get me?! I have done that long enough. I now have the mindset that I will get there eventually as long as I keep doing what I'm supposed to be doing. Sure does take the pressure off myself

Kim... glad to have you aboard.

You have the right frame of mind for sure. Slow is better and increases your chances of KEEPING IT OFF!! Although I'd like to see a faster loss, I'm learning to eat differently and that is really what matters. Wishing you success.

Well I guess I have learned a valuable lesson....I just wasn't prepared, life kind of got in the way and I didn't get to go grocery shopping until about 6pm so ended up eating pizza, what a failure....I really didn't want to post but know I have to stick to being honest.
Anyway my fridge and freezer are stocked now, I have learned a good lesson, always be prepared, I have a two week menu already written out and will add more recipes so I have a four week menu to keep it interesting.
Thanks for the welcome, I actually feel like I know you all already as I followed you all through January with your ups and downs, one of the things that struck me the most was when there were no loses you just kept on going, totally amazing, so I know if I stick with you all I can do this.
Hope I am the only failure today lol xxx

Hi everybody

Love all the newbies.

LOL. We are having pulled bbq pork in the crock pot today too. I need to find a good lc bbq sauce from scratch online this am.

It's also suppose to get up to 56* today. I am so excited I think I will take a walk with the dogs. I know they will love it. But then more snow tonight. They are calling for 6" so we will see if the kids go to school yet again......

Goal - to be less than I started LOL....

Weight:
Feb 1 - 169 (tom)
Feb 2 - 169 (tom)

Good morning and Hello to all the new people....you have come to a great place and will find the people here to be so helpful and friendly!! Yesterday I spent about 8 hours riding in the car going to and coming from son's Regional Swim Meet not the mention the 4 hours while there sitting on a hard backless bleacher so don't think I burned very many calories......hope to do a better job today AND not indulge in too many Super Bowl goodies~~~~ Happy Day All

Not surprised. My hubby had Chinese last night so I treated myself with a rotisserie chicken and ate half of it!!!! I was so full---would have been happy with half of what I ate. I do love the fact that I consider getting a rotisserie chicken a treat!! Sure didn't view it that way 2 months ago

Welcome despicableme, justice, foxylocks, kimbersh47 and last10!!! Look forward to spending the month with you!

Great to see tiggy, cdnpaleoguy and trismama!! Let's all have a great month!!

Sandy, preparation is the key! It's always good to have plenty of easy options in the fridge. I typically cook a lot on Sundays so I have easy to grab options all week. You are not a failure though!! We all slip sometimes. The important thing is to get back right on track, which you did. Reading and posting here often always helps me!

We had friends over for dinner last night and I overdid it on the London Broil. I also had a few strawberries. Scale up a bit today but hopefully back down tomorrow. I'm going to try to do a down day for the 5:2 plan today to see if I can do it. I will limit myself to 500 calories today and see how it goes. I was certainly higher than normal in calories yesterday so I hope it's not too bad. So far I had 1 coffee with 2 tbsp HWC (100 calories) and 1 tbsp MCT oil (100 calories). Going to try to make that last until late afternoon then have an Atkins Shake to get some protein (160 calories) and finish tonight with another Atkins Shake. That will put me at 520 for the day (close enough!!). We aren't big football fans and I go to bed at 9pm on work nights so trying this on Super Bowl Sunday is not a big issue for me.

We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow (Aarrggghhh!!!!!). Hoping it's not as bad as they predict as I'm sick of winter!! The kids have already missed so much school this year!

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Going Foxy! That was a Great loss for January!

pcalt - this is the thread I used for BBQ sauces homemade bbq sauce?

Well, I got to figure out some things to cook for the day. Even though we don't watch the Super Bowl, I use it as a day to just have snacky foods instead of meals for the day. I am going to do a cheese and sausage dip with the cheese crackers I know, but need more things. So I will be searching the forum and of course LS website.

I hope everyone has a SUPER day! (not to corny I hope).

Hi Everyone, can I join your group? I was only down 4 pounds for January, and have gained 2.5 of those back I totally indulged in off plan foods for my birthday on the 30th. I am still trying to figure out what I need to do. I am only 4'11", want to lose between 25-30 pounds. I am just not sure if I should eat at a higher fat ratio, and if I should really consume apprx 1500 calories a day ( I just think that is way too much for me). I was very successful back in the say with ww, but I just feel that this woe is healthier. I have been going back and forth between the two plans for over a year now, and I am ready to get this figured out. I think that I am going to stay here at least for the month of February, and re-access then. Thanks for letting me share.

Kim & rotay60; lots of knowledgeable ladies here to help you along.
I think next time it's pork; I'll look for a good jerk pork recipe. Hopefully one exists that's low carb.
Think I bruised a tendon in my wrist; turning it like working a screwdriver is painful. Will ice it later today.
I'm another one who won't be watching grown men slapping each other on the ass this evening; maybe tune in for the 1/2 show but that's about it.
Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone! Down half a pound today, so an even 176. My BF is down to 193!!! He started at 260, and his goal was 200. He's doing so AMAZING!!! He just naturally eats in an IF way. He prefers not to eat his first meal until about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. That really seems to be working well for him. And he eats a little bit higher carb then I do. Not much, but he does eat veggies and things like that. I may try and do some IF next week and see if that kicks up my losses for this month. We'll see. I like my food so much that waiting til noon to eat, instead of 8, may not work for me. Can't hurt to try it though.

Sandy, first of all, you definitely did NOT fail. You learned an important lesson. Lesson learned, not failure. Preparation is absolutely key. I have just one day off each week, but I spend at least a few hours on that day getting food ready for the week. Grating cheese, boiling eggs, slicing up veggies, etc... We'll even throw a big batch of burgers on the grill and keep them in the refrig for lunches during the week. Anything you can do to set yourself up for success.

Welcome Rotay! Honestly, the best thing you can do for yourself is to pick a plan and stick with it. Bouncing back and forth can set you up for failure. One month may not be enough time to really know if something is going to work for you. Especially if you've been bouncing back and forth for a while. Whichever way you believe you can stick to for the long run is what is going to work for you.

I hope everyone enjoys their Super Bowl Sunday! And don't let the goodies get the best of you. We don't watch the Super Bowl at all, but we do love the Puppy Bowl! But we'll be doing our usual grocery shopping for the week tonight. I love grocery shopping during the super bowl, the store is nice and empty! LOL

Good morning everyone and
Welcome all our new friends.

Nice drops there folks. Way to go Shelly... so happy for you!!

I have no explanation for my ridiculously slow weight loss. No cheats, no diversions and pretty much the SAME thing EVERY day!!! I'm wondering if I'm taking in too much hwc?? I've realized that 25% of my calories are coming from that. Ooohh, that seems like a lot?? Too bad that coffee is the best part of my morning and evening.

A typical work day is:
4 egg or salmon salad w/mayo for breakfast and lunch
supper is 4 ribs or 8 oz of pork steak or chicken
3 c coffee w/hwc (1/4 to 1/3 c a day)
10 glasses water

I'm under 1000 cal a day and my fat is greater than my protein so other than exercise, I don't understand this. I'm 45 lbs from goal, not 10??
I know I've pissed and moaned about this before but I feel there has to be a reason, I'm just not smart enough to figure out what it is??

Good Morning all.
Seems that every one is here this morning. I do not weigh in every day just on Mondays. Super bowl has no attraction for us anymore so won't worry about eating junk but I have a load of ripe Tomatoes in the greenhouse and loads of broccoli which are my downfall, snacking as I harvest and prep. Well I will go and do a little sewing while I watch the Kitten Bowl. Have a great day all.

And to think I thought the snow would head towards Bonny; enjoy Princessmommy
I had to drag the boys out of the house to help. I tried using the armstrong snowblower & felt a jab in the wrist.
Picked up a leg of lamb on sale so will have to search through the crock pot recipes as I seem to remember seeing one there. Maybe it was over at Linda's?
You ladies all seem to be melting away; pretty soon I'll be here talking to myself

Shelly, you can send some snow back our way. But make it the stick-together kind so I can make a snowman.

Nope CDN, most of us will stay around. I know I will. Need the continuing support not to fall off the scale so to speak.

So here is a sample of what I made today:

Pcalt, did you find a LC BBQ recipe you liked?

Bacon wrapped Meatballs with a homemade LC BBQ sauce for dipping

Nacho Cheesy Crackers

Stuffed Bell Pepper Slices - (these were gone in about 5 mins, They were SO GOOD)

and of course pork rinds, cheesy sausage dip and pulled pork roast for sandwiches with the BBQ sauce for everyone else.

Ha-ha!! Not funny, really!! I mean our kids go to school, ice, snow and terrible wind chills otherwise Cdn schools would be closed for the winter. I feel sorry for our American cousins that are getting hit with snow amounts they've never seen before. That must be hard to deal with. Yeah, I'm not 100% sorry that they have nicer weather MOST of the time.

Take care of that wrist and let the kidlets do the work for awhile. You know the saying, "I don't own a snowblower, I have kids!" LOL.

Take care... sounds like you've got tendonitis.
