Morning!! Made it through my sons birthday dinner! Had a delish chedder burger with no bun. Loved that the waitress didn't even Blink when I said no bun. It came with pickles, tomato, onion and lettuce leafs which I used as a bun. Yay! Dessert my son decided was Fro-Yo which made me happy since they have sugar free! I indulged and had some.
My Oh so Not romantic hubs got me a card and a cheesy 3 dollar dollar store ring for v-day. I love that he Loves me but dang that is last-second- no effort kinda gift. :/

WhooHOO Bulldogmom!!!! You have had some good losses this month, but where in the world did that 195 come from??

For adding pics - you have to go to an outside site like photobucket and add them there, then use that photo's web address to post here. At least that is what I have to do. Example - the picture below address is http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/...psbf62d3fb.jpg but to get it into this post I click the add image button and then insert the link there -

Boony Jean...I did it a different way, if you click on my name and click on public profile I have put a pic in there of the dogs, I wanted to post more but it would only let me do one....I think the pic I put in is about three years ago, I have to re sort my pics out I think, they are both eight years old, we went to buy one and couldn't leave the last one as she would have been all on her own, so we brought both of them lol, so they are sisters and we called them Molly and Maggie, they totally are the best things in my life, they are smallish though compared to the English german shepherds, over here they are huge and make my babies look very delicate lol, but they are Canadian as we got them when we lived over there and when we moved to England brought them back with us....those six months in quarantine were the worst.....oh my goodness now I am rambling on again....lol.

Missy we must have been posting at the same time lol.....that is so clever, thanks for letting me know, I was totally muddled lol.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Shelly I had to laugh at your hubby. Mine is not romantic either but what a great guy. When we first got married he actually bought me a hair brush for a gift. I mean really......

Wow you all are doing great on the weight loss. Keep it up.

No I don't have cream cheese. I am pretty much out of everything in my frig. That's ok tomorrow is shopping day. Will make minestrone soup and homemade bread for the kiddos today and I have 2 burger patties left so I will make them for me. Don't think I have been low on food in a long time. Just trying to stick to a budget and with all the meats I need to buy (which is healthier) it gets expensive.

Goal - to be less than I started LOL....

Weight:
Feb 1 - 169 (tom)
Feb 2 - 169 (tom)
Feb 3 - 171.5 (tom)
Feb 4 - 172
Feb 5 - 170
Feb 6 - 169.5
Feb 7 - 169.5
Feb 11 - 169.5
Feb 12 - 169
Feb 13 - 169
Feb 14 - 168

Ok Pcaltman that helped me feel better LOL! My husband is a fantastic hubs and father so i'm very blessed there. I just miss the sweet gestures he used to do, like picking me a flower Or leaving me a little candy just because.

Happy Valentine's day! Congrats to everyone with a loss and everyone staying on plan! Nice drops pcaltman and bulldogmom!

When I added the pic of the snow, I used the "go advanced" option, then clicked the paper clip button at the top, then used the "choose file" option, uploaded the pic from my IPad, then it loaded it in my message.

Hope everyone enjoys their Valentine's day! We are still digging out from our blizzard yesterday. Ended up with well over a foot of snow. Heading to grocery store soon to figure out what dinner tonight will be. Shelly, not much romance left with my hubby either!! I am thankful though that he's a wonderful father and husband! We just have to spoil ourselves!

That is all so funny, its nice to have a good laugh....
Bonny I didn't notice you said german shedders lol, that was funny, as you should see the state of my floors on a daily basis, for some reason they shed all year round so its never ending, they are so worth it though, but that was funny lol.

I remember the time when my hubby actually asked me what I wanted for a present, well of course I wanted everything, so I said buy me anything at all apart from a new cd by some singer that I liked as at the time I hated this particular cd....anyway what did I get.....yep....for some reason the fact that I actually mentioned something is the only thing that stuck in his brain lol, so I got this horrible cd.....so I decided to try an experiment the following year and told him to buy me anything but a diamond bracelet....and yep you guessed it he remembered that time, when I asked him where the bracelet was he said but you told me you didn't want one.....men !

Well now you have got me going, I just have to ramble about this one year he told me had brought me a present, he had to go out but was going to give it to me when he got home, he was only out for about 20 minutes, but in that 20 minutes I nearly ripped the whole house apart.....anyway when he came home he gave me a package of lindor chocolates, I think there were 8 chocolates in the bag...so what did I do, I was so mad lol, that I made him take me to town, I took him into this jewellery shop, and I told the assistant I wanted the most expensive bracelet in the shop...thankfully it wasn't a high end jewellers lol, Men!! I still love that bracelet though and I think it was that which taught him his lesson, chocolate is a treat not a present, especially 8 little balls of lindor lol.
It would be fun to hear everyone elses funny story's today.

You gals are so funny.

Hubby actually put the hair brush in a long thin box, wrapped then gave it to me. Of course I was thinking bracelet or necklace so it was quiet a big shock when I opened it up and it was a hair brush. Right then and there I knew I would never get anything but his love and that was ok by me. He really is the best guy.

Julie we are still digging out too. I think we ended up with 19.5" totally but got more snow all yesterday so I didn't add that. Kids loved it, hubby stayed home from work but worked anyway and we watched the USA team win in hockey. So all in all great few days.

Ok so what is everybody having for dinner tonight? We are going back and forth but nothing sound good and I want to make things special.

Missy, Thanks! The 195 came from a cheat. I think that was the night we ended up at my favorite restaurant and had some cheesecake. You're getting some nice steady losses this month too!

Shelly, Great job staying on plan! My dh is unpredictable as far as the romance goes. Sometimes he goes all out with flowers and candy or whatever. Sometimes its nothing. This year I'm not sure what he'll do. I'm not a huge fan of flowers since the cat eats them. Candy is off limits. But honestly, I didn't even get him a card this year.

pcaltman, nice drop!

Bonny-Jean, I do what Julie does to add pics.

When hubby and I married I warned him that I never wanted any kind of kitchen or household item as a present for any occasion! The joker that he is, the prettiest package under the tree for Christmas evey year is usually something like a frying pan or kitchen appliance. This year it was Racheal Ray cooking dishes. He still finds it funny after all this time! Thankfully he still gets other more appropriate gifts too!

I'm thinking of getting a pork loin and ,arinating it and cooking it in the oven. Our grill still has a foot of snow on it and our deck is still a mess so steaks not a great option. Maybe some cauliflower mash and broccoli with cheese to go with it.

February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work, 90 minutes of shoveling snow)
February 6: 156.2 (finally a day of rest...not really, I need to shovel some more)
February 7: 156.2 (100!!! squats, arm weights, push ups, a lame plank)
February 8: 155.8 (105 squats, about 10 pushups, another lame plank)
February 9: 155.6 (110 squats, arm weights-focused on triceps)
February 10: 156.2 Sigh (Today is a rest day! No squats for me! Woot!)
February 11: 155.4 (130 squats/arm weights)
February 12: 154.4 (135 squats)
February 13: No w/i (140 squats/arm weights/push-ups)
February 14: 156 (rest day, but will be shoveling a ton of snow soon)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

I am up today. Not really pleased about it, but I know TOM will arrive later today. I know it's water from that and muscle repair. And when TOM is arriving nothing wants to, um, move in my digestive system.

MIL made it through the night. DD is working on some shoveling so we can get out of the driveway. And get some things done.

DH is always very thoughtful and finds the perfect card. Usually flowers involved. I got up this morning and he said "Sorry I haven't been able to get you anything yet!" Between all the snow, and his S-M, it's no wonder. I will go out later and get us some nice steaks for dinner.

I read all your posts and I understand that everyone wants something special for valentines because someone decided to make this the day we have to do that. Luckily for me we do not buy stuff for each other this day, we do not go out this day. We usually just do a nice diner somewhere before or after because the price is not jacked up and we actually would like to be able to hear our conversation without a roaring crowd and waiting in endless lines but I feel I must put in something for the boys! So…

(Turning on patriotic music, putting on foot on a rock that just happens to be here and placing my hands on me waist puffing my chest out) What about the boys! We go day to day trying to read all your minds not having any idea what you really want. We kill bugs, do house repair, fix car issues, mow the lawn, go downstairs because YOU heard something that woke YOU up. I could go on and one yet where is our trinket of love. Where is our smoked BBQ ribs because we could care less about candy. Where is our x box one because we still have not found many uses for a necklace? It’s time we men took back this day and find out how quickly the woman forget to do their duty but instead of what we really want throw us some corner store beef jerky (though I would be ok with that) and some cheap Chinese tool set that you will expect us to use to fix all the crap you broke around that house! Just saying

I should probably be doing some work so TTFN

James

Oh and Gypsy, remember hospice comes in many forms so if your not happy with the performance of whichever hospice your using you can and should switch to one that has similar values.

Hi Everyone and Happy Valentine's Day! I agree with what many of you are saying, after 10 years together, my BF sometimes slacks in the gift department, but most of the time he does pretty good. For instance, the Christmas that we had been together 7 years, he got me 7 charms for my Pandora Bracelet. So, most of the time, he's extremely thoughtful, BUT I do make a point of dropping hints about exactly what I'd like! LOL

And James, trust me, he gets generous gifts too! He definitely makes out like a bandit!

For our Valentine's dinner, I got some heart shaped ribeye steaks to throw on the grill and I'll sauté some mushrooms for him to have with his. Can't wait!!!

Got a great workout shoveling more snow and building a snowman with my boys. Also hit the store and the roads were fine but parking lot was a slushy icy mess. It's warming up so hoping it melts!

Okay I am in on the Valentines talk... my dh used to be wonderful at getting me gifts and flowers sent to me at work every year for v-day, xmas, bday, etc. But since I stopped working because of being disabled, nadda and I mean nadda. Nothing for vday, xmas, bday. His reason as he says is we get whatever we want throughout the year so no need to get stuff otherwise. I, however, am one that still celebrates it. I get up extra early and make everyone a big wonderful breakfast, and yes hand out their gifts. I got my dh a new pair of shoes (his were talking), chocolates(my dh is a chocoholic), and a cd he has been saying he wanted for a few weeks; my dd I got her chocolates, a crafts project, and scented pencils. So yes I feel I little unappreciated around the holidays, any holiday. But such is life and he is ostly wonderful the rest of the time. I just wish he would celebrate sometimes. I don't think we've even had a date night since I quit working either even though I have asked about it. Okay enough talking about it, getting a little upset.

Baddabing, I agree women should take the time to remember the men and get them gifts they want. I try to, but I must say I am the one who kills the bugs, does most house repairs or tries and then has to call someone to do it, goes to check out noises or answers the door at night. Neither of us fix the cars although I used to do that as well, and we have goats for the yard.

Joining in late...

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site, but I have always used some form of LC to lose weight. I started Atkins induction around the end of Jan and am still on it. I went from 203.4 to 197.6 today (YAY!)... I will state that I have had the RNY surgery (the post op dietary program is low carb-so nothing really new for me) in June 2010. Best thing I ever did after years of trying to lose weight. My highest was 283. I am not trying to convert anyone, just letting everyone know a little background, I guess... lol.

I had a baby last Feb, gained 50 pounds, lost 30 after delivery and then BF for one year (minus 2 weeks). So as soon as that was done, hopped back onto the LC bandwagon (a little hard on the milk supply to do low carb).

I am just trying to get back into my comfy zone and perhaps (gasp) get even lower than before... My original goal was 160-lowest weight was 172... I think I can do it this time around, I am so focused!

Happy Valentines to everyone.

James LOL.....

Just to let you know I don't want jewelry!!!!!!! Never have. All I want is just a nice note (hand written preferred) and flowers. I love flowers and hubby never buys them. He thinks it's a waist of money so I never get them. Anyway this particular holiday is just that "hubby's" and always has been sense the day we got married 20 years ago. I take care of and do all the other Holiday through out the year and they are for his family and the kids never mine. So he gets Valentine's day. He buys a little something for each kids around $1 after he gets off work, I make a nice dinner (he is picking it up tonight because we don't have any food in the house) and we just relax and exchange I LOVE YOU's That's the best way I know to spend Valentine's day

PS. I tell hubby exactly what I want but you're right, nobody is a mind reader. Hubby does kill the bugs, I do 1/2 if not more of all the house repairs (I used to own my own construction company), the gas stations fixes any car repairs, our boys mow the lawn, I'm the one that wakes up and goes down stair if there ever is a need (hubby is a heavy sleeper), I took and still take care of the kids 24-7, and hubby, 100% everyday, gets a great home cooked dinner (I can't remember the last time I ate out 5 years ago maybe). All in all this day is very small compared and gives me a big smile knowing he is thinking of me. It's not anything like how shows have it or how I guess you think of it. At least it's not at our house.

PSS. Hubby is coming home to 15 little heart shaped I love you's taped all over his bathroom mirror As well as some IOU's of private things to do later

James, my dh and I usually don't go out on Valentine's Day either because of the crowds. I think appreciating each other the other 364 days of the year is more important. I like the idea of romance, but when it comes down to it, I laugh at the mooshy-ness (is that a word? LOL).

Bonny-Jean, Here is my clown. He was outside for less than 5 minutes while waiting for his big brother to finish his business. And the guy couldn't handle a few snowflakes. LOL

We don't go for the big gestures. And for me, Valentine's Day seems so manufactured. There's too much pressure for romance.

Romance is an everyday thing. We tell each other we love each other everyday. We're present with each other.

We try to find nice cards for each other and I usually try to cook us something fancy for dinner. I usually get a small bouquet of flowers (nothing showy and NOT red roses). I do like jewelry, but I tend to lean towards funky stuff that isn't too expensive and I like to pick it myself.

Now if someone got me a fancy-schmancy KitchenAid stand mixer in a great color for Valentine's Day (or any other day for that matter), I would be one happy girl! Or a Margarita machine!

Sorry, I can't remember who mentioned it, but I am very happy with the care my MIL is receiving. The nurses have been wonderful!

That's funny! My lab is supposed to be a water dog and hates the rain and baths too. I haven't had him long enough to try out the beach yet. Dogs are odd creatures!
