ARB: Awesome drops there. Not even 1/2 way thru and you've lost over 3 lbs. That's excellent!! KUTGW.

Silly question: Where are these muscles coming from?? I'm noticing muscles in my legs popping out of nowhere? I'm not exercising at all (my bad) but noticing my thigh and calf muscles are all of sudden there??? Is it because they used to be wrapped in fat and the fat is going away??? This is not an attempt to blow my own horn, I'm sincerely curious. Really!!!

Thanks Bonny-Jean....encouragement is needed right now lol, I nearly talked myself out of carrying on this morning, but have just spent the last few hours reading so many posts on this board so that has helped, the only thing I have increased in the last week is low carb sausages, so I will give them up for a while.
I hate exercise apart from walking but I love dancing lol, so today I am going to dance to three songs to see if it shakes things up a bit, and well done on getting your scales to move...brilliant.

My guess is that this diet allows you to retain your muscle mass while dropping fat. Other diets tend to cause a loss of muscle mass and some fat. I tell people that under all of this fat, I have a super model's body.

Definitely don't give up! Can you switch out the sausages for bacon? Sausages always cause me to gain because of the high sodium and fillers. No matter what though, its common to see a gain or no loss sometimes. Then suddenly you might get that whoosh and wonder where 2 lbs went overnight.

Gypsy, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am researching "oil pulling", sounds interesting and I may give this a try next week.

Got on the scale...248.4, YAY! I am glad for a loss 1.8. I had a little movement this morning, nothing significant. If I can eliminate, I know my losses will be greater. I bought some Cascara Sagrada from our health food store...she says it's supposed to help with constipation. I am going to see how it works out, especially since I spent $9 on this bottle. I will go through to Friday, if it doesn't work; I will pick up some Smooth Move on my way home and take it Friday night. I am traveling for work next week, and I already don't go when I travel, so I need to do something before I leave.

Anyone seen Missy? My mom is in GA and they lost power; hope Missy is okay.

Wishing you all a great day.

February 1: 156.8 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work, 90 minutes of shoveling snow)
February 6: 156.2 (finally a day of rest...not really, I need to shovel some more)
February 7: 156.2 (100!!! squats, arm weights, push ups, a lame plank)
February 8: 155.8 (105 squats, about 10 pushups, another lame plank)
February 9: 155.6 (110 squats, arm weights-focused on triceps)
February 10: 156.2 Sigh (Today is a rest day! No squats for me! Woot!)
February 11: 155.4 (130 squats/arm weights)
February 12: 154.4 (135 squats)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

I did manage to do the squats and arm weights late in the evening. I figured I'd come so far on the squat challenge that I should keep it up.

Just got a call from my SIL and she says her mother was a bit more comfortable in the night. That's good. Need to take all the clothes to the laundromat this morning (our washer died, ugh) and then bring them home to dry.

I have been wanting to try oil pulling. I guess I haven't done it because I don't think I could be consistent about it. But then I guess even doing it inconsistently would be better than not doing it at all. OK, I'm gonna start this afternoon when I'll be home for a few hours.

My weight is stuck - again - at 151.4 this morning. My new pattern is to not budge one way or the other for two days, then it seems every third day I get a little whoosh. So I'm hoping tomorrow I will be down another pound. (fingers crossed) I am on Induction, but also practice a JUDDD eating pattern.

It's DownDay today! Preparing for eating out at a Chinese restaurant tomorrow. Yikes!

Shelly that really made me laugh this morning...sorry didn't mean to, but the bit you wrote.... I'll eat air and see if That causes a gain! I think I kind of felt like that as well this morning, but it did make me chuckle, you have done incredible on not smoking by the way, I switched to ecigs about two years ago but now I think I am addicted to them lol.
Bulldogmom....thanks for the advice, its funny as I just got back from the butchers and got some bacon lol, I have to be patient, it will all sort itself out in the end....I think I might have the problem that Kway had, (don't really want to say outloud lol) but have been taking the magnesium, anyway will figure that one out...thanks again.

Gypsy - I just realized I did not finish my thought. I was getting to sorry for your experience. Hopefully if and when the passing occurs it is a peaceful one. Screaming children who think they are too big for a nap can be distracting come night time.

I knew what you meant, Baddabing. No worries. My mom was a nurse for many years (and did a lot of geriatric nursing during her career). I've heard a lot of stuff in the last 30 years! Enough for me to admire everything that nurses do. And plenty to know that I could never do it!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers, they mean a lot to me.

Bonny-Jean - If you take up running walking or hiking not only will you see those muscles but new ones appear from nowhere especially in the thighs. I think its kinda cool.

I am pretty sure I will regret this but….. what is oil pulling?

Feel a little more up today than yesterday so that's good. I think I am going to sneak away during lunch and try to figure out a suit solution since every place I went to look up cocktail attire did not say suit optional.

If I do find a suit, hopefully under 100 the next question will be can I find a alteration person who will have it altered by Saturday? I am short 5'4" which is odd when you consider the jobs I have had before this one. But also means no clothes, particularly pants fit right off the shelf.

Picked up some peperoni and cheese sticks to bring in to snack on because I have noticed I dont really care for a sit down meal at lunch. I always get interrupted anyways so this might be a good fix till later when I add nuts.

Do you do measurements at all? I find I still tend to lose inches even if the scale wont budge.. Helps to keep me motivated.

I've been trying the oil pulling, and nope, I am not consistent, LOL..... the first time is the hardest, but it is not as weird as I thought. well, at least not once the coconut oil fully melts, though first few seconds are still funky

Sorry everyone for being absent. I didn't realize it had been SO long since I posted. A lot has been going on here and I am one of those who just tends to curl up and sulk rather than deal with things I guess.

Mthergoos, Amazing Pics!! I know I always am amazed out how much you have lost but the pics OMG really are an eye-opener.

Gypsy, condolences for you and your family right now. Prayers for you and yours. On the fat fast you tried, you don't just have to have drinks. You can eat high fat foods as long as the daily is 80% fat or above. Peanut butter, cream cheese, mayo, pork rinds, sour cream, all can be used. It helps not get hungry and you avoid the nausea issue. When I do my fat fasts I'll use celery sticks/pork rinds and make peanut butter or cream cheese dips. Also I use pure hwc that has no carbs, but total fat. You can google Atkins fat fast and there will be a lot of recipes to try.

Shelly, how did your dd do on the test? I hope you hear something this week on the job front.

Kway, I think you asked about religious fasts. I grew up in a family that we had one day a month whole fasts to purify our minds, body, and soul, and we did yearly 30 day fasts as well. I naturally have always fasted for this reason even with this woe. I try to do some type of fast once a week and will do fat fasts or whole fasts whenever I am stalled for more than two days. For me I think it helps with weight loss but for other reasons as well.

Sandy, I have been thinking about trying an ecig. Do they taste similar to real cigs and do they blow smoke?

I know I have missed out on many posts, I apologise. Congrats to all those who are losing and sticking with it even if not losing.

Gypsy, so sorry about your MIL - ((HUGS))

Kway, that is a relief, LOL

Bulldog mom, you crack me up

Oddly enough my keto stick was a lot less pink today... WTH? I did do a lot of borderline no-no's over the last 2 days though.... Brussel sprouts AND salad night before last, cheddarwursts yesterday, Full liter of diet Pepsi yesterday and then broccoli with cheese sauce And salad again last night... Oh, and did I mention a nice measure of light rum in some of that diet Pepsi... oh yeah... I think it is time to throttle back on the tweaking. You would think that I would know better by now... sigh

And again I did not lose so much as an ounce. I did not gain either, so I guess I will take that as a positive.

Missy, so glad to see you back!!!! Nice drop too!!! Thanks so much for your compliments on the pictures!

Bonny, I firmly believe that we do build up muscles from carrying around all the extra weight, but they're hidden under all the fat. I used to carry around 300 pounds all day every day. Of course I would have to build up muscles doing that. You couldn't see them under all the fat, but they're there now. I think that as we lose the fat, our muscles start to come out.

Kandi, I've been bouncing up and down the same 2 pounds for almost 3 weeks now, so I understand your frustration, but hang in there. Patience are consistency are the keys. If you give up, it will never happen, and if you cheat, it will take even longer to happen, so hang in there and have patience. 10 pounds in 10 days is great and I'm sure your body needs time to adjust before dropping any more.

Day 2 of my new exercise routine is done! I'm obviously not going near the scale. I do believe I will retain water in the beginning, so I'll wait until the end of the month to weigh, unless I wake up feeling really thin one more, then I'll go ahead and give it a try. Otherwise, I'll just wait til the end and just hope that I'm less at the end of the month than I was in the beginning. Sometimes I think I could be happy at the weight I'm at now, I really don't hate my body the way it is right now, but technically I'm still obese and I'd really like to not be obese any more. Also, I know that I've got at least 20 pounds of excess skin just hanging around, and there's nothing I can do about that, but I'd really like to be out of the obese classification.

Do you do measurements at all? I find I still tend to lose inches even if the scale wont budge.. Helps to keep me motivated.
Thank you, i actaully didnt do my measurements this time altho i have in the past, i guess i should have , cuz despite the scale i do feel a little differently in my clothes, maybe i will do that this evening.

Also, I know that I've got at least 20 pounds of excess skin just hanging around, and there's nothing I can do about that, but I'd really like to be out of the obese classification.
thank u so much and i couldnt agree more, as frustrating as it is i know me and if i give up now i will def over enduldge and then i will be even more irritated ....so with that bein said mentally as long as i know i am doing what i can i will continue and use some patience

Missy....so nice to see you back...... the ecig....well I had a puff on one just over two years ago now and was amazed how close it was to the real thing, so I did lots of research and ordered one online and then started ordering lots of tiny bottles of liquid, I have only had two real cigarettes since then, the first one made me so dizzy, and the second time it took me a week to get the taste out of my mouth lol....for me it was amazing, you puff it in, you still get that nice back of the throat hit from the smoke and lots of smoke comes out of your mouth, its exactly the same as smoking a real cigarette...the back of the throat hit was important to me, next time you have a puff just feel it hit your throat, and that to me is what made smoking so important...sounds weird lol, the most important thing is getting the liquid right, you need something really close to what you are smoking now, I think I was lucky in that I was smoking menthol and there are a lot of great menthol liquids out there...but because they have been out for so long now there is nothing you can't get.....in the end I had a box full of different liquids, I would wake up and smoke my menthol, and then I would puff on coffee mocha flavour, then a bit of blackcurrent, after dinner I would puff on apple pie and custard liquid, and its amazing they actually taste like the flavour lol....anyway its important to get the liquid strength right as my first attempt was with an 18mg liquid which was to strong, so I went with a 12mg strength, since then I got down to an 8mg, a 6mg and now I am currently puffing on a 4mg, I think its habit with me now rather than addiction...I honestly would definitely try it, my daughter is giving it a go now and she smokes regular cigs not menthol so she is trying out different tobacco flavours and also all the flavours under the sun and is doing really well.....anyway if you have any questions about it as you can tell I like to ramble on lol....

I think this is the 1st time I've heard of oil pulling; surprisingly, my DW knew about it. Doesn't matter, the hygienist isn't happy unless they get some blood
Off to the gym tonight. Hopefully it's not packed like a sardine can! So, anyone have any go to recipes for Valentine's Day? I don't dare go out; restaurants are packed and finding a place that understands what EXTRA vegetables means is like finding a chicken with teeth.
Have a good evening folks...
