Good evening all...
I am scrolling through after a busy day. Got rid of the bloat...back to 150.2. I should be able to post a DROP next week. Thanks for the Citricel suggestion, I ate my salad today and will be popping the magnesium tonight...so I should see some movement in the morning.

Now on to the post of the day!

MthrGoos...you look AMAZING!

WTG!

Goodnight all.

So today we had the lunch thing at Red Robbin and as soon as I sat down and opened up the menu I noticed the dish I researches chicken something or other was not there. Panic read read read eventually settled for a double cheeseburger and only ate the meat with ceder. Kind pissed me off because I dont like ground beef patties. Anyway I never really got hunger pains and the stick is pink but I feel SUPER bloated which for me is weird. Ya know, cause I am a guy. So I am going to hit the treadmill and do a 3 mile run maybe more if I have the energy and weight in tomorrow and hope all is good. I cant think of any holidays etc coming up in a long time so hopefully I can control everything form home.

Hi, PWIV! Welcome!

Hahahaha Baddabing!! I saw a Subway ad a few days ago and said to my husband "Yeah, I'm sure these world-class, elite athletes are eating subs filled with Fritos!" And all the other junk food that's being advertised during the Olympics!

Okay, so weird thought. My weight just isn't moving. My eating is on track. I feel fine. Would it be weird/wrong/damaging to just eat fat for a day? Like 1 day of just drinking my green tea with my coconut oil in it, drinking my water, taking my vitamins. And I'm talking a single day with 100% of my calories from fat. I just feel like I need to shake things up a bit, but I do not want to do a high carb day or anything like that. And it would literally be a 1 day experiment for my own curiosity's sake.

Welcome PIWIV, I agree about the website, its definitely the most active one out there and support is great.

Gypsy what a great experiment that would be, then if it shook things up for you we could all have a go when we got stuck, I would say do it, what have you got to lose, but then again I am new so what do I know.....but I think if I got stuck for to long I would have to try something.

I've been going thru the same thing for almost 4 wks now!!!
I've never tried a fat fast but I remember reading others have. Not sure if it's one day or two?? Fasting makes me dizzy & nauseous so I can't do that.
I tried going off plan Friday night but don't think that did anything positive at all.

I'm going to cut the hwc in half. Cut the coffee down to 2 c a day.
Have replaced the Splenda with Stevia. Will try to drink my water without
MIO. Have no idea what else to try and my food/protein is right on par, maybe even a little low so that's not the issue.

Please let us know if a fat fast works for you.

Morning all,

Have not weighed in for a few days. Didn't this am either. Not sure when I will. Just taking a break from the scale for awhile. Things are a bit stressful around here and I just didn't want to get upset if I saw the scale go up. It might be going down for all I know but didn't want to take the chance. Have been good though so we will see.

You all are doing great!

Any loss is good after yesterday. I ate on plan but just ate a lot of things high in sodium (bacon cheeseburger for breakfast, taco salad for dinner, summer sausage for snack). I've definitely got the bloat this morning.

Welcome to the new folks! Congrats to everyone losing!

Mthergoos, WOW!!! You look amazing! I'm definitely glad I joined the boards when I did so that I can tag along in your journey. You are a wonderful inspiration and support to us all.

Baddabing, You probably feel bloated from the extra sodium in the burgers. It will disappear soon especially if you're going to get on the treadmill. Great job on staying on plan!

Kway, so glad you got rid of the bloat! Can't wait to see what your losses are going to be. You've been doing so well!

Gypsy, I don't think it can hurt to try. If you feel horrible, then add some protein in. I've always wanted to try it but I'm afraid that I'd get too hungry. I'm waiting for my next stall to try the 5:2 plan. But a fat fast is an option too.

Sandy, nice drop!

Arb, I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the cold weather! When I get stuck inside with the kids, we usually end up playing video games. It keeps my mind and hands busy at least. I'd rather read a book but its too noisy here!

Bonny-Jean, Out of the changes that you're making, the only one that made a difference for me was cutting back on the hwc. Hopefully that's all you need to do and not have to sacrifice mios or coffee.

pcaltman, Hopefully things will be less stressful for you this week. I don't blame you for not getting on the scale. You don't need that pressure even though I'm sure you're doing fine. Hang in there!

Me too! My numbers are exactly right, but my weight loss has slowed to a crawl. I am not on a fat fast, but I increased my fat significantly and lowered my protein, which helped somewhat but the weight loss can still be annoyingly slow.

---------------

Happy to say I had a mini-whoosh last night. Down another pound to 151.4.

Today is an UpDay and a heavy exercise day, so I don't expect to see any loss tomorrow, but perhaps the day after tomorrow (after my next DownDay) I will get to see 150.something.

YIKES: Made a huge typo last night...I was rushing. I am back to 250.2! I wish my numbers had ANYTHING that started with 1. :-)

Oh well, have a great all. We are expecting some more snow later this evening. Gonna attempt to make some beef jerky without all the sodium and sugar. I will let you guys know how it turns out.

Also, can someone explain to me the FAST? My reasons are because I occasionally fast for religious purposes and want to see how I can tailor it to my WOE. Thanks.

Thanks Bulldogmom, that's so sweet of you!

Gypsy, Dr Atkins actually recommends a fat fast if you're really stalled. I think you can do it for 2 days if you really want to.

I was losing fantastically all last week and then BANG! Got hit with the flu/cold. It’s been 6 days of being sick now and have been gaining steadily every day.. I’m now up 4lbs since Wednesday and feeling very frustrated - Has anyone else experienced such a significant weight gain due to being sick?!!

That would be nice but can't have the coffee w/out the hwc so.
So far today it's just been 1 coffee w/Stevia and hwc and 3 c plain water. Yuck. 1 c salmon w/mayo for breakfast and lunch and 8 split wings for supper, green tea and I'm done for the day!!! I'm sure the food sounds low but it holds me and some days there might be a little more.
I'm curious to see if it's the hwc, MIO or Splenda. Hard to tell with doing everything at the same time?? Whatever!

February 1: 156.8 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work, 90 minutes of shoveling snow)
February 6: 156.2 (finally a day of rest...not really, I need to shovel some more)
February 7: 156.2 (100!!! squats, arm weights, push ups, a lame plank)
February 8: 155.8 (105 squats, about 10 pushups, another lame plank)
February 9: 155.6 (110 squats, arm weights-focused on triceps)
February 10: 156.2 Sigh (Today is a rest day! No squats for me! Woot!)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

So, today, I am going for it. I've already had my first mug of 18 ounce mug of green tea with coconut oil in it. The goal is to get through the day with nothing by tea, coconut oil, water, and vitamins. If I get through today, I might try a second day before going back to just eggs and meat. And very limited cheese. Fingers crossed!

Just a suggestion for stalls, maybe up exercise and or up the calories but definitely don't go off plan. It takes 3 or more days to rid the carbs and the carb cravings after cheating. It's not worth it. If stalled, maybe add those extra 5 carbs in a new type of food. I've been on diets that after 2 weeks of low calories, you up like 300 more so instead of 1200 you eat 1500 and you'd be surprised that you can lose. But remember, if your not burning calories, you may not lose. If you starve your body, it will store the calories. It can't hurt to eat a few more chicken wings or an extra hamburger patty or even another egg every day. Try it especially if you are exercising.

Today I just don't feel hungry. I haven't eaten yet. Barely finishing my coffee. So, I guess lunch it is today.

B: coffee with hwc
L: chicken in green salad with caesar dressing probably
D: not sure yet. -

Everyone is doing great on the losses. Those that aren't losing post your menu and maybe we can help. I was eating 5x a day now that I went back low carb it's 3x just not craving those snacks like I used to.

I went to the store a little while ago to get olive oil, tuna, mayo, chicken, some stuff for the kids (like milk, cereal, and fruit) and on the drive home I started feeling that familiar crampy feeling in my lower abdomen. It seems that TOM is about to arrive a week early. No wonder my weight isn't moving. It just will not move at all once that nonsense shows up.

My carbs are never over 10, usually more like 5 for the day. I get some form of exercise almost everyday. I had 2 slices of pizza on the 1st of this month. I ate only a little of the crust. That is my only cheat in about 6 weeks. And that was 10 days ago. I don't count my calories on a regular basis, but when I do, I'm in the 1,200-1,500 range. I personally know that for my body, upping the carbs for a few days spells nothing but disaster. It may work for others. We're all different.

I plan to get in at least 800 calories today. All from coconut oil! Like I said before, this is just a one, two day experiment, tops.

My son just got his off last year to the tune of $5,000. but you know what, it was the best 5K I ever spent (well actually 4, he paid 1) That money not going to cigarettes any more should cover that in 2 yrs or less!!!
and btw: major congrats on that!!

princessmommy - wouldn't yo be sweet and nice if everyone who walked through your door also came with 4 grand?

So I was actually able to get my scale to work after only three tries today! I think I understand it now. Turns out I only lost 3 pounds. I say only because after 14 days of induction I would expect 14 pounds where as I only got 11.4 this time...... well I suppose I should not complain about that I realize women tend loose less so now I kinda look like an a hole....

OK my mini goal is to see 18?.? by next Monday. I know most my "big" clothes fit correctly at that weight. Then I can concentrate on working towards my skinnier stuff"

I think i am turning into my kids with all this me me me stuff!
