BulldogMom: I foolishly went and bought a bottle of Organic Lemon Juice. It is NOT from concentrate and I put 2 tsp in 8 oz water but it smells and tastes like floor cleaner. Yuck. Maybe a fresh lemon would have been better. I heard a warm glass of distilled water with lemon in the morning is the best thing for weight loss, skin and your guts but eeewww that liquid is pretty hard to swallow.

Definitely go with fresh! I couldn't handle lemon water so I do lemon tea. Same thing right? LOL

Thanks Bonny. Well magically 2kgs disappeared overnight so no clue where it went - wasn't hiding under the bed when I checked. So still one kilo to drop hopefully at the end of tom. I think I should remember, the bigger the weight gain, the worse the tom. Ridiculous how things just go pear-shaped like that. Btw tom and thyroid, its so frustrating.

I don't mind lemon in water - I prefer sparkling (Pelegrino is my fav). I would avoid those fake juices Bonny, you can't go wrong with a real unwaxed lemon as a lot of the flavour will come from the peel which will release oils when squeezed.

But by far, my favourite non Diet Dr Pepper drink is sparkling water mixed in a jug with ice, bruised mint leaves, a whole lime sliced in wedges and squeezed and a few drops of stevia. Lovely and refreshing. Come the summer, its nice to add one or two strawberries. I make up a whole pitcher which is just over two litres.

Well, off the Cancun in a few hours, toes nicely painted, everything cleaned and tidied, handbag packed and now to open and unpack and repack suitcase to try and reduce the contents a bit as I hate taking too much!

I hope you like your swimsuit DQ I know the hassle of buying them!

Bonny, good luck on your plan! But I really hope you look at increasing your calories instead of just cutting things. Atkins never said anything about keeping to 1000-1200 cals a day!

Kway, I also work out and whilst the scale doesn't show much change I also have inch loss. I do hiit (cardio interval training) plus heavy weights and occassionally tennis or badminton. I used to salsa and bellydance but got out of practice. Keep up the training as it will pay you back later in tone what you miss now in scale lbs. give BodyPump a try if you fancy it. Just be careful not to over train and ensure you get in rest days as well.

Not sure I will have access over the next couple weeks so wish everyone well, hope you have good losses or wooshes and are happy! Back soon!

Oh, it's real. Organic 100% lemon juice but cloudy and pungent. Not my cup of tea!! LOL. Maybe I'll put it into my green tea in the evening and kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak.
Enjoy your trip, lucky you getting away from all this snow and cold!!

I am not surprised the scale hasn't moved....as I haven't moved either for the last three days having induction flu which has now gone..whoop whoop.
But because hubby was in charge of cooking while I was feeling yuk, I just discovered the sausages he brought were quite high in carbs and sugar.....
So oh well, not his fault as he is but a mere man, so here's hoping for some downward numbers tomorrow....also when looking at things overall I have lost nearly five pounds in nine days.
Hoping everyone has a loss today, take care.

Morning dear friends:

Hi Shell: I think your body has found it's "sweet spot" and I'm no expert but it almost looks like the only way you're gonna get past it is to do some serious exercise. Sometimes that number in our heads can make us crazy. You look beautiful and healthy and it makes me a little sad that you're not happier with yourself. You are where most of us what to be. Sorry, just my two cents.
I'm hoping for 138 but I know 148 is more realistic, unfortunately. All the best Shell. Keep smiling that beautiful smile sweetie.

BulldogMom, Sandy and Arb: Nice drops there folks.

I think this month will be a lot of experimenting to see what's gonna work for me. I just crunched some numbers and found less calories and even carbs in 1/2 c of skim milk than hwc?? A little surprised to say the least. Of course I'd lose all that fat from hwc. Otherwise I'd have to cut the coffee which would be very hard. Also switched Splenda for Stevia. Time will tell.
Good luck to all of you this week!!!

Good Morning Everyone! Well I put together my before and after pictures, so I'm hoping that they load properly. The before picture was taken last January at my niece's Fancy Hat Tea Party Bridal Shower. The After picture was taken just this morning. I realize I'm not at goal yet, still 25 pounds to go, but it's just show how much difference a year can make. Even though my losses aren't big right now, I'm just trudging along, and they do add up!

When I stopped this morning to get my usual Diet Pepsi on the way to work, the lady behind the counter that I see almost every day asked me how much I lost. I told her, and told her that I still have 25 pounds to go. She said, "Oh no! You're almost too skinny now! " I almost jumped over the counter and kissed her! Of course she was just being polite, but it was still nice to hear!

KWAY2B185 if may want to consider something like citricel. It keeps things moving.

Last night was Valentines day for us. This is the one holiday we do on a different day ever since we were held hostage by Elvis Presley at a "fine dining" restaurant and relieved of 300 bucks for what I believed should have been 30 but I degrees.

We went to see 12 years a slave but found out that Fandango was wrong and the movie was no longer playing when we got there. So we saw that Lone Survivor was still playing and since I was a Marine and was a little familiar with Red Wings we decided to go for it. This was a powerful movie that stirred up some things in me that have laid dormant as far as my views on what we are doing right now. Good movie for all adults to see. Would not subject a kid to it.

Then off to Bone Fish to try and shake the PTSD of the movie and pretend we were not crying and had a steak. I must say they make a pretty good steak. Did broccoli on the side and a taste of a garbanzo bean dish that in all honestly probably was ok to eat but I was not sure so I stayed away. I would say the only "bad" thing is I had a Scotch which I found packs a punch if your day was all messed up and only got to eat a few slices of peperoni on the fly.

Still feel in and according to Ketosticks shows I am in Ketosis. Hopefully I will do good at red robins today for lunch and the weekend wont mess up tomorrows weigh in.

Decided that I shall be adding some steaks to my grocery list. Love em.

February 1: 156.8 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 2: 158.4 (crunches)
February 3: 158.4 (squats/arm weights/crunches)
February 4: 157 (squats/crunches)
February 5: 157 (squats/crunches/arm weights-just deltoids and triceps...elbow is killing to much for bicep work, 90 minutes of shoveling snow)
February 6: 156.2 (finally a day of rest...not really, I need to shovel some more)
February 7: 156.2 (100!!! squats, arm weights, push ups, a lame plank)
February 8: 155.8 (105 squats, about 10 pushups, another lame plank)
February 9: 155.6 (110 squats, arm weights-focused on triceps)

February goals: Complete the 30 day squat challenge that I was crazy enough to join to with my crazy friend!

Figure out a planking/push-ups routine for my ab work.
Arm weight routine every other day (as tolerated). Damn tennis elbow is still with me.

Weight goal: 147...but to be honest, I will be thrilled to see anything in the 140s. I haven't seen the 140s since early 1998!

My February is a bit like a lot of people's January. Scale is just moving so slow. I'm not sure why. Part of it is that I am definitely seeing more muscle. Part of it is probably because I'm only 20 pounds from my goal weight. Part of it is probably stress. I'll just plugging away, doing what I do. And I will get where I want to go. It probably won't be as fast as I would like (instant gratification takes too long!), but I will get there.

Babading......
I saw 12 years a slave, really good movie, and Lone Survivor I burst into tears at the end of it, it really got to me...and both were true story's which kind of gets you more.
I just watched the Wolf of Wall street last week, really good, three hours long but I didn't want it to finish, but def not a family kind of movie as to much sex, drugs etc lol.

MtherGoos---Thank you so much for sharing your before and after pics! I am a few pounds heavier now than your starting weight and I am so excited to look at your after pic and fantasize that a year from now I can look something like that myself! If I wasn't motivated enough before, I sure am now!!! Thank you so much again for the pics!!

I am at 307. That is 3lbs down this month so far. I am exercising and lifting weights and I feel so much better than I did January 2nd at 330!! Even though I've only lost 3 pounds so far this month....I know that I've lost inches because my clothes fit loosely and I can put my own socks on and tie my own shoes!!

I don't post much but I am here reading what you guys have to say everyday....2-3 times a day!! You guys are great and very motivating! Thanks to everyone

** SMOOTHIES **

So, I am resuming my "Smoothie Detox", since I am no longer losing on Atkins!!
The scale goes up...then down...and then back to 150 on my Sunday weigh-ins!
I need to shake things up, so I will do what has worked in the past.
Low carb smoothies every 3-4 hours...that's it...nothing else. Recipes are on Yummly.

I will post my progress on a separate **SMOOTHIE DETOX ** posting

I will reach my 140 goal by March 14 (giving myself a month)!!!

Missy: you're very kind. Seeing as I was insulted at least 3 times the 1st week of January, I thought it high time to PROVE this WOE worked!!
As for a goal, a size 38" pair of pants would be nice
Superb blood tests would be great too & blood pressure tests that don't scare the tech doing them. I always blame it on 'white coat' syndrome.
So the good news: I'm down a notch on the belt. No idea what that translates into inches or weight as I neglected to hit the scale at the YMCA yesterday.

Is there anybody else out there who ,after watching ice skating, begins to think they could do some of those moves because they make it look so easy?! I mean....I know I have a hard time standing up from a deep lunge position but I'm thinking that if I were on skates and moving across the ice that I would have no problem!! No one else believes that?!
