LOL Jack-Jack has a face only a mother could love. He is my stubborn, loving and lazy boy. After breakfast, the first thing he does is check the floors for food and then he heads off to the couch for a nap. I should change my avatar to the one where he got on the table outside and couldn't figure out how to get back down. His daddy had to come rescue him.

Tiggy, I've heard some people say they put a fresh lemon slice in hot water and drink it to get rid of the bloat. This week I decided to put the lemon in hot tea instead. I feel like its working. Maybe try something like that for a few days?

Thanks Bonny. I think some days the Ole Devil messes with me more then usual and today is one of those days. Ever since I quit smoking (And took the chantix) i've been having episodes of depressive feelings. Had depression in the past, mainly when we did fertility treatments Years ago. And I get that same depression feeling when my Thyroid was off last. So it's off to the Dr as soon as I can get in. Do Not like feeling like this! My mind takes 1 little thing and builds it up to where after a little while it's a Big thing.

Hi everyone hope you dont mind me jumping on board, im doing stillmans about 4 days a week ans induction for the other days, mainly for a bit more variety. IM 53 years young and weighing in at 72.7 as of this morning, I've been bouncing around the 73 kilo mark for a week or two, so, any little bit helps.Im looking forward to trying the recipes here and am already enjoying reading all your post's, keep up the good work and look forward to joining in, hugs and stuff Maria x

I wasn't supposed to weigh today but I wanted to take a peek. I usually don't drop water weight this quickly. I'm thinking the lemon in hot tea might be working? I'll keep trying it over the next few days to see what happens. I've also cut back to just one cup of coffee since I tend to overdo it on the hwc.

Shelly, With everything going on....the nasty weather, quitting smoking, scale not being kind etc,.....I can see why you would be feeling down. I've been there myself with the infertility treatments. Not a good place to be mentally. I'm glad that in spite of whats going on, you haven't given up. We'll always be here for you.

Baddabing, good luck with that wing sauce! I can't wait for you to figure it out so that I can benefit from your efforts. I love wings but every sauce is so high in sodium that I gain the next day. Not what I want to see.

Sandy, You'll get a whoosh here soon I bet. You're doing great! Off topic, but one day I'd love to travel to the UK and meet Jeremy Wade. Of course I'd get there and he'd be in another part of the world.

Maria, Welcome! So glad you decided to join! Can't wait to hear all about your journey!

Arb, I know that feeling! I think there is something wrong with my scale too since all I see are "8" and "9". You are doing great though! One little bounce up isn't bad in the grand scheme of things.

Wow, Shelly: Got some smart babies there. That alone should lift your spirits.

Congrats to all who saw a loss, great or small. To the floaters (including myself) hang in there, don't get too bummed. Add up ALL the days rather than concentrating on TODAY!!!

After 5 mons, I finally got some positive reinforcement. Thurs I went shopping for new pants and had to find some in junior/misses section as none were small enough in the Plus section. Whoo-hoo! Although still wearing a 16, it was a smaller 16. I was really hoping for a 14 but it is what it is. So Friday I was wearing clothes that actually fit me and got several comments about the weight loss. FINALLY!!! Although up a pound from my little foray, I'm hoping it's just water from all the MSG in the Chinese. WON'T be doing that again.

Well, I've given up the diet coke 100%, cut back on the sweeteners, trying to reduce the caffeine amounts (so hard) really have to look at all the hwc I'm consuming and try to get some exercise in.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I was thinking of doing the same thing in an attempt to cut back on the evening coffee and yes, I'm a hwc junkie now.
Lemon has a lot of health benefits and although carby, I can't wait to see if it does anything. Are we talking about the lemon in the little yellow, plastic lemon shaped container??? And are we talking about a tsp or tbsp per glass??

Hello! Thank god it's finally the weekend! Had the week from hell at work with a few long days and then had all my mom duties at home after work so no time to post lately. I also have the winter blahs! I am so ready for spring. We had an ice storm this week and now it's supposed to snow agin this weekend and again next week. Kids will be in school until July at this rate!

I've had some really good days on plan and some not so good days. Thankfully it's balancing out to no gain, but no losses either! I gotta get my head in the game a little better! I need to get back down to where I was last year!

Too many posts to comment on, but sending hugs to everyone!! You guys remain my inspiration and keep me coming back so thanks! Have a great weekend!

I think I have been suffering from something called carb flu....I still have it actually, the dizziness is the worst, a bit achy and a weird feeling in my stomach...someone on my journal said it might be the carbs clearing out, has anyone heard of that before....anyway 2 to 3 days of feeling like this, so I am being kind to myself and snuggling in my bed watching silly programs...its even been a effort to type on here everyday.....hope it goes away soon.

Sandy, induction flu is very common. Try drinking some broth. Sometimes the extra sodium can help balance things out for you.

Can you be in ketosis and gain? Got on the dang scale and am up 1 pound. TOM is not expected...idk what is going on. Only different things I have done is that I have been doing some weight training in gym & I ate them dang Vienna Sausages the other day. I did not eat salad for the last two days. Yet, my clothes are getting bigger. Since I am not a pill taker, I have forgotten to take my magnesium for a couple of days...no bathroom movement despite all the water and fat. HELP!

Yes, you can be in Ketosis and gain weight if your calories are too high, but it doesn't sound like that is your problem. If your clothes are getting bigger, then I would assume that the gain is just water weight. You've started working out, so your muscles are retaining water while they repair themselves. That's why exercise is great for your overall health, but not necessarily good for scale numbers. Hang in there! Your clothes are getting looser, so you know it's working. Also, once you start taking your magnesium and get things moving again, that should help too.

I take a whole fresh lemon and cut it into fourths. I put 1/4 in my tea and just keep refilling the glass throughout the day. So one lemon will last me 4 days. I also squeeze the lemon after each refill. I don't know what the carb count is but it doesn't seem to be affecting me negatively. I think the hwc was slowing my losses down much more than the sweeteners. I'm still using liquid splenda liberally.

Hello Everyone

I am still sticking with induction(for the most part) but full time work, full time graduate work and business trip out of town has kept me away from the site. I am down 9.2 lbs (approx a month I am guessing) I have seen some ups and downs but 9.2 in a month, not too shabby. I have fallen off the water wagon and am back on. Hope everyone is well and continues with positive progress in their journey!

My favorite food find thus far is this strange combo. Rotisserie chicken(I eat the breast and remove the skin), sharp cheddar(small amount) and mustard. It is yum.

Thanks for all of your continuing motivational stores. Even if I lurk or stay away from a bit, it is nice to know that I have good stuff to come back and read.

ThanksMthrGoos. I am going to stop working out and see what happens, although I love it. The first week I lost 4lbs without it. Also gonna pull back off the cheese, already had some today...no more for me. I took my magnesium as well although I usually take them at night.

D: not sure...probably some lettuce greens with some chicken

Meep, we should have lunch together! I eat ONLY the skin, and feed the meat part to my dogs! Sounds like you're off to a great start!

Kway, I'm not saying Don't exercise, especially if you enjoy it! I'm just saying that it CAN slow your scale numbers, especially in the beginning. For ME, that's why I don't exercise, because I need the motivation of the scale numbers moving down, and I'm afraid that exercise will slow the scale numbers down. BUT, it can definitely help you lose inches, tighten, and tone. Also, things like pork rinds and Vienna sausages can definitely cause you to retain water. Again, nothing at all wrong with eating them, just know that they can cause some water retention which could also be responsible for that little blip up on the scale.

Ahhh, I wondered about the salt in them...hmmm. Those two items were the new things in my meals/snacks. I'm not married to them, I am going to go back to the simplicity and CLEAN items I started with last week. Lesson learned.

Well since I NEED to see the scale move down, I will see what the next few days bring w/o it. If it moves down, then I will hold off until I can get in the 220s. I love it but I need to be as close to 200 as I can possibly get. I am going to rely on y'alls experience and hold off in the initial weeks. I like toned, but I dont like toned BIG thighs, I'd rather them smaller overall. thanks again

Back home finally. Did a Lot of sitting in the car waiting on DD to finish her test. She said she did Awful on the test. But then she is only 13 so most of that stuff on the test Is High school stuff. Then ran to Subway for lunch. I usually don't eat there But I was starving and it was quickest place to get lunch.
