why did'nt i lose anything on over 2 week in induction?

Its been over 2 weeks
i have stuck to beef/pork and poultry
eggs and salad greens...atkins bars and have not lost 1 pound
also all my clothes fit the same
i do have an underactive thyroid but take the min amout of sinthroid
for this.
its almost 3 weeks of induction and i'am losing hope!
Iam 46 5'5 and 155 lbs

Atkins bars get mixed reviews.
You might ditch them.
Don't give up hope. It does get a bit more challenging as we get older and without so much to lose. But many here have done it. You need to commit for a bit longer and be patient.

Are you counting carbs? Can you post a more detailed typically daily menu?

Def ditch the Atkins bars. They stall a lot of people. Me included. Also, watch your dairy intake, make sure it's in check. Cream stalls me for sure. Too much sweetener stalls me also. Hope this helps. Good luck. x
Ps, don't give up, just tweak it. Everyone is different and what works for one may not for another. Really could be something as simple as addressing the above to start seeing drops.

I would second pointing the finger at the Atkins bars but also a daily menu would help. Maybe you're eating too much protein? Some people do have to limit more then just carbs.

Hi Tina and Welcome! I'm also 46 and hypothyroid, as are many of us here, so it definitely can be done, even with age and thyroid issues against us!

Why don't you post a daily menu and let us see if we can help you narrow down the issues.

The bars, shakes and other replacement low net carb products are likely the problem. It is tough, but give them up and see what happens. I am just starting induction again and am sticking to the bare bones. protein, never breaded, grilled roasted of sauteed.. eggs, (poached are my favorites, yum), leafy greens, green beans, the occasional tomato.... stick very closely to the Atkins induction food list and leave off any possible offenders to be added in one at a time till you figure out what stalls you. Take it easy on the cheese at first, and remember to look at your condiments very closely. Some hid serious amounts of carbs / sugars. Good luck, keep at it and enjoy the ride.
