6 Weeks Tobacco free - 1st day Atkins

I'm thrilled to say that after 20 years of tobacco use, I am 6 weeks tobacco free. In the midst of the tobacco battle , I gained 16 lbs. What a bummer....all that hard work and then your clothes don't fit. :stars:

I'm very happy that I'm smoke-free and look forward to success with Atkins. Today is DAY 1 of induction and It's been exciting. So exciting in fact, that I found this blog and wanted to share :jumpjoy:

Please feel free to share any good tips / advice!

I too am on my 2nd day without a cigarette. Oh it has been a challenge but I know it will be worth it in the end. :D

I quit smoking about 3 months ago and gained a whopping 30 pounds! Began induction again on New Years Day. I do use an electronic cigarette which helps. Congrats to all of you!

The tough part is over...deciding to quit. Hang in there !! A couple more days and it will ease up a bit.

I can already feel the shakiness starting to ease up. I know once I make it through the next few days I will be good to go. My only concern is gaining weight but hopefully the LC lifestyle will combat the potential gain.

It's worth it guys! I no longer lay in bed coughing all night. When I quit, the Medical Director at work wrote me 3 scripts for Z pak. "Jennifer you know you are going to get sick a lot since the cilia are growing back in your respiratory tract." (I was sick as a dog when I quit.) I used one Z pak. That's it. No more URI's for me! YOU CAN DO THIS!
