Well I started my Stop Smoking Journey this morning! Excited And Nervous! Took my first Chantix pill @ 7:45am. So far so good. I'm Praying this works and I can finally kick this Disgusting habit Forever!!

You can do this princess mommy. Today makes 26 years for me ! If I could quit smoking anyone can, I was sooo addicted !! One day at a time and remember everyday gets better!!

Morning All:
Well my little journey to the dark side wasn't so bad yesterday. Again, not sure if I picked up a bug or was suffering from low blood sugar but after eating some cereal and mushroom soup, I did feel better. Too sick to worry much about carbs, just wanted to get well. Coincidently I stopped taking that Garcinia Cambogia on Sunday. Hmm??? I used it in December and had a very slow loss so I'm curious what January will be like without it. I did not notice any benefit or change taking it so I'll do a month without it.

I am wishing you all a terrific month and the best year ever! Shelly, all the best with adding a quit smoking challenge to your existing WOE.

I have been following all of you for quite a while now and I thank you all for the inspiration!!! I would love to jump in and join you in this fun.Through what I learned from reading here, I had finally gotten the weight loss wheels spinning pretty well but decided to go off plan between Christmas and New Years to prove to myself how much better it feels to be on plan.....boy did I prove it!!!! I can take it back off though and will! Got a Fitbit for Christmas so maybe that will help too. I will start tomorrow though instead of today. (Can't start a new year without black eyed peas and greens.) I must say though that I am really looking forward to tomorrow!!!

So my goal this month is more about making sure I don't give in to my SAD...seasonal disorder believe me when I say its a real problem for me..I want to hibernate stay in bed...it's cold here.

Want to join in. I have been on induction for three days now. I am doing well! I will post weight lose on Mondays. I'm not sure what goals to post, just hoping to loose each week. I am looking at this woe as a lifestyle change...forever.
When I have tried Atkins in the past, I felt so good and had so much energy! Hopefully that will help me to eat this way forever!

Low carb vegetarian?

Hey there,

I've been doing the low carb/high protein eating plan for the last few days. The challenge that I am facing is the variety of food choices - I eat eggs, fish and dairy, but no meat. Does anyone have any good resources or recipes for the low carb vegetarian?

Hi gusdog! If you look here Vegetarian - Low Carb Friends they have a whole section for vegetarian plans. I'm not sure if anything there fits what you're looking for, but you might check to see if they've got some ideas for you. Good luck! I hope you post often!

I could definitely use a challenge for motivation! I've been not so strict throughout the holidays, but no more excuses at the ready. Time for me to get real! Not setting a weight goal as I think my losses may be slower this time around (potentially having missed my golden shot), so I'm challenging myself to get all of my water and supplements in, and simply eat clean!

Hello everyone
I started Atkins induction 2 days before Christmas and i have lost 2.500 kgr so far and i'm a very very happy (low carb)cookie
My goal today is to ignore all the goodies around (hubby eats loads of candy and sweets and pasta and...the list go on) and my mini goal for the month is to lose 4kgr.

I have been following your challenges for a couple of months now and would really love to join in! Just reading along with you has helped me so much... so thank you for your help! You have no idea how much you have blessed me!

I have hypoglycemia with adrenaline issues and have always felt better on an Atkins-like diet, but the last 8-10 years, no matter what I did, the pounds just kept creeping back on. I was ready to give up (in fact I did), but through the help of an endocrinologist and learning how to test different kind of foods on my metabolism the weight is finally coming off!

I only lose about 3 lbs. a month now and I am fine with that. I had to make the decision that sugar/carbs is poison to my body and that I would die if I didn't get this figured out QUICK! I am determined that this is a lifestyle and that maintenance will most likely be very similar to what I am doing now.

Love Love seeing all these new faces!! Welcome everyone!! We're all here to help and support anyway we can!

Still smoking! Lol! First day down (pretty much lol) on Chantix. Seemed to go pretty well. Got a Hyper like feeling earlier this morning like I didn't want to be still but it wore off lol. I think lack of sleep and coffee helped with that. We ended up staying at my husbands best friends for about 3 hrs last night. I ate very LC. Steak! Super Yum!! But did have a margerita and a shot of grapefruit moonshine, crown royal shot and a shot of fruit punch moonshine. Yep all home made by the host. Well not the crown but Lol! It was Soo good!! First drinks in 2 yrs. Didn't get drunk but felt it a bit.

Okay, so December went pretty great, but I didn't just fall off the wagon for Christmas, it backed up over me and then dragged me for a bit!!! Back on the horse today. Tennis elbow in my left arm and bursitis in my right shoulder have been really acting up (I've pretty much had my elbow on ice for the last week or so). Up about 3.5 pounds because my foolishness! Even though I have no events coming up (weddings, holidays), we are moving in a few weeks and it is going to be a big challenge.

January goals: Crunches everyday, arm weights every other day (as tolerated). Weight goal: 155


January 1: 166.4
