Is anyone losing 2+ a week without exercise???

My fat is about 65%, protein 35%, carbs around 10 and calories 900-1000 but why can I only squeeze out 1- 1.5 a week? I know that's not terrible but I can't be anymore more strict than I'm being. I don't get it. I'm not crying about it, I just think it should be better like a minimum of 2 lbs. a week.
Sorry I just feel a little defeated with 40-50 more to go.

Bonny, our weights are fairly close, but your goal weight is much lower than mine. I think we just expect too much out of bodies sometimes. I know I usually average 8-10 pounds per month, but this month it was just 7 pounds, which is about the same as what you lost.

I don't exercise either, and I average about 1000-1300 calories per day. My ratios are usually 75-80% fat and about 20% protein.

I have no idea what February will bring, but I would love for it to be a 10 pound month. I have a feeling though that my 10 pound months may be over with and I'll just have to be happy with the slower losses.

It does seem like your calories are pretty low. I know it's been suggested before, but I can't remember what the outcome was, have you tried just going to maybe 1200 calories per day for a week or two and see what happens?

Mthergoos: Firstly, thanks and yes, 7 ain't bad but you're smoking past me!!! Considering what you've lost already and still losing 7 should be phenominal!! I would get it if I'd lost over 100 lbs and still losing but goodness, I've barely lost 40 in 5.5 months so yeah, that seems a little slow to me. I can't think of what else to eat? I'm not really hungry so I guess this is just my fate and that's that. I did up my fat a couple of weeks ago and that seems to have helped a little. Perhaps I shouldn't say this but I'm getting more convinced that "side tracking" sometimes actually gets things going again. Again, I'm just talking about a bite or two, not a bowl.
Thanks for the encouragement. Muchly appreciated.

Great job Julie!

MtherGoos those snacks sound wonderful! Gonna have to try.
Laura, I'm hoping February sees some positive changes. I have been stuck in this 5 lb range for far too long. And mostly because of my own undoing. I'm so mad at myself at the moment. I started losing again and then yesterday happened. The kids are home from school again, everyone comes over to sled again (we're the only ones with a hill), I get sidetracked again, I cave to whatever temptation again. We're going to Disney in the Fall maybe, we haven't chosen an exact date. But I'd like to be at goal when we do go. Maybe setting a timeframe to hit goal will help me to be more accountable.

Bonny, I really think this journey is all about finding what works for each of us. Our bodies are all so different. If you've found that a bite or two here and there keeps things moving for you, then I say Go For It! I've often thought that might losses might increase if I had one off plan meal, but, mentally, I just can't do it. I don't trust myself not to fall off the wagon and just go on a binge frenzy and suddenly weigh 300 pounds again. My "never" cheating isn't because I have so much self control, it's because I'm scared to death that I don't. I'm envious that you've found that you can occasionally indulge and keep it to a bite or two.

BulldogMom, I LOVE Disney! Florida or California? I used to work at the one in California! I would so love to be able to plan a vacation there and take all my kids and grandkids, but it's gotten so crazy expensive. Just think about how fun it will be to be able to ride all the rides and not have to worry about whether or not you'll fit into the seats.

I agree, I know we may get criticized by others with this way of eating, but if it works me, what's the problem? I too am scared to cheat because I know me, I don't have that self control yet to stop and turn around go back the right way, at least not with eating yet.

We'll go to Disneyworld in Fl since its closer. It has gotten expensive. But I think we'll splurge on a hotel since this will be the kids first time. I want to stay at the Animal Kingdom hotel so we can look out at the animals from our room. Before the kids, we used to go down to Universal Studios about once a year. I just remember how miserable I was because I was so hot and tired from lugging all of this weight around.

On a different not, what do you all think of lemon juice in tea? Would it be too carby?

Last time I went to Disney World was July 2011. We'd gone to Tarpon Springs first for a big family reunion and then my sister and I took all of our kids to Orlando for about 5 days. It was hot as hell and sticky (even hotter and stickier than usual for Florida in July). I was miserable as all get out in the parks carrying my (then) 189 pounds around.

I found a great 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo (it even had a washer/dryer in it) in a gated condo community about 15 minutes from all the parks for $79 a night. I think they charge $89 a night now. My sister and I split the cost of the condo, so it cost us each $39.50 a night! And we had plenty of room for the 7 of us. I have always wanted to stay in one of the Disney hotels, but it was always to pricey to accommodate my family of 5-most rooms will only hold 4! So it was either get a suite or 2 rooms.

Mthergoos and KWAY:
Oh, I so agree with both of you about cheating. I'm terrified too but when something happens, ie: xmas, car accident ... I just didn't care and had that escargo and a bite of a bun. To me that's cheating so really nothing that's gonna do any damage but it temporarily fixes the mind and if I have those things, or 2 fries... to me that's a cheat cause of course, it's off plan.

I might take the chance to prove one way or the other that something I've been struggling to avoid but eat would confuse the body enough to say oh, it's okay to drop a few more pounds. Who knows?? Don't I sound like I'm trying to do everything to avoid exercise!! LOL.

MtherGoos I know a guy that has run that one twice as Elvis. He liked it a lot. Having an OCT date would definitely stretch out the time you have for prep. Plus how many hills could there be there? None I suspect.

I now understand why you guys do the daily weigh in. I am lucky if I remember to do mine on Mondays.

Baddabing, I LOVED the Elvis runners that were out there this year! So funny! I tried to tell my BF we should dress up as Elvis and run next year but he just looked at me like I was insane. Come to think of it, he gives me that look a lot........
