Morning all,

You all sure are chatty Nothing really new. I made salsa chicken and don't think it agrees with me. I feel so fat and bloated it's not funny. Weird, but ok I wont be making that again any time soon. Think I just need to eat simple. Making a turkey today, so that's good. Lots of meat.

Can't wait for tomorrow when the kids go back to school.

Congrats Makesmeslim on the 3 lb drop! What's whoosh!

Bulldogmom, look forward to hearing how it goes if you try the 5:2. From what I've read it can really shake up your metabolism with very positive results. My biggest fear is that being hungry will cause me to make bad decisions. I love the concept though and want to try it. This coming week is TOM though and I don't think it's a good week to try calorie reduction! I hope it goes well for you!

Trismama, Congrats on halfway mark!

DQ, That is so crazy and scaring about the shooting. We seem to keep having more and more of them throughout the country. I hope you are doing okay and post as often as you can.

Bonny, I always weigh first thing when I wake up as that is when I am at my lowest weight. You can try weighing throughout the day to determine when you are at your lowest and weigh then every day. For some it is first thing in the morning, for others it could be right before bed, etc. Sorry you have to wait so long for the claim process. Hey, you are down a POUND today WOW!! Congrats!

YEAH Lori!!! Great Whoosh!

Laura, at least you are down some - take it as you get it.Good idea on treating yourself.

Mthrgoos, I was going to ask how low were you on protein, but then I remembered you were trying a fat fast weren't you? Definitely stay with what you know works. fasting is not for everyone.

Julie WTG with the Whoosh!!!

makemeslim, 3lbs down today - OMG!!! That is wonderful!

Shelly, a nice little drop again!!!

I am down a little today, but fully expect a lb or 2 increase tomorrow. I ate a very delicious Chocolate Mousse Cupcake at Dh Bday party - 40 carbs. OMG If I had checked the carb count before eating it, I probably would not have. The cake part was not so good, I just really enjoy chocolate mousse frosting. So I am doing strict 72' induction this coming week to get me back into ketosis.

Good Morning Everyone! Down almost a pound today to 177.6. But I'm not going to do the fat fast again today, even though I probably should. I just don't like obsessing about food all day, and that's what I find happens for me when I do the fat fast. I would like to be able to do the 5:2 plan too, it sounds like a good way to shake things up, but for some reason, I just can't do it. I know it's all a mental thing, and it would be great for my body, so WHY can't I get head around it? Maybe I'll try again in a few weeks. Anyway, for now, I'll just keep doing what's been working all along, which is just the strict Atkins 72 Induction. I can't believe I've been on Induction for 11 full months already! Holy cow, no wonder my body is getting bored with it!

Missy, the Mousse sounds YUMMY! And I'm sure that getting right back to induction will make for minimal damage, if any at all. Do you think my protein may be too high? I tend to always eat the same foods over and over every day, but maybe with the lower weight, I need to lower it some?

Shelly, so glad that the scale is moving the right direction for you!!!! Let us know if you hear on any of the jobs this week.

Pcaltman, I find keeping it simple always works best for me too.

arb, Congratulations! Now on to new territory and new lows!!!

Makemeslim, Congratulations on the 3 pound loss!

Bonny, so sorry that you have to wait so long to find out anything about your car! That's crazy! I'm glad the scale was kind to you today though!

Julie, so glad that you're feeling better!! I'll be very interested to see how the 5:2 plan works for you if you try it. I use the MCT oil too, mostly because it's a great source of fat and I've read a lot about it being good for brain health. I don't use it every day, but a couple of times a week usually. I need to work up to using it every day.

Lori, You're having an AMAZING month!!!! Congratulations!!!

Congrats mthergoos, Shelly, missy and arb on your drops!!

Good job getting back on plan after your cupcake Missy! Minor blip!

Shelly, hope it's not an ear infection! Those are painful! Get better soon!

Congrats arb on getting back to your pre-holiday weight! I still have a way to go!

I've spent the day getting all my housework, laundry and grocery shopping done. I found a great deal at the store for spiral sliced ham at $1.79 a pound! I got a 10 lb ham that was usually over $40 for $18!! Going to cook it for dinner for the family then snack on it the rest of the week. I LOVE ham. I just hope the salt doesn't cause water retention issues. I also cooked up a batch of bacon fried cabbage so now I have 4 days of lunches ready to go. This is going to be a good week (despite stupid TOM)!! Sending hugs and positive thoughts to everyone!

Saw this on Facebook today and thought it just made so much sense!

HEALTHY TIP..."The real goal is to change how you view food. If you look at something and say, that’s going to make me feel good. I want that. Your brain’s going to get activated. If you look at it and say, ugh, that’s disgusting. I’d rather have something else. Your brain’s not going to be activated. You have to take the power out of the food by changing how you view the stimulus." David A. Kessler, MD,

I like that quote Mthrgoos. I tend to look at things from an analytical, research type attitude. Even eating, I track what, how, when I eat. I am usually over analytical with everything I do, just part of my make-up I guess. But for me it helps with urges usually. I control what goes in my body, how much, when and then using the data I can work around to determine a plan that works or modify it as needed.

Thanks mthergoos! Also love the healthy tip you shared! Such a great way to manage our relationship with food!

My ham is cooking in the oven and it smells heavenly! Can't wait! I threw the glaze packet right in the trash. I don't think the family will even notice a difference.

Nice reading that someone is having success with this WOE. I won't be near the scale till later in the week & doubt I'll step on it. Checked the gut with the tape measure & it read 46" but I'm comfortable in 42" pants
My DW keeps telling me to relax & it will come off. Rats

Definitely not a good start to the week... Last week, I was 76.3 and this morning? 78.9 seriously, what the hell??? Almost three kilos in a week and the only off thing I had was a small piece of kimchee pancake at the korean last night. Its not tom I don't think so am extremely annoyed, especially as its two weeks till Mexico.

On the 5:2, I find it difficult when doing lc, probably because our hunger is reduced anyway, I found it impossible to restrict down to 500cals as then wound up starving instead of just being okay. i much prefer the 18hrs/6hrs fast and find it easy to keep my eating within 6hrs and it has the same benefits.

So sorry to hear about your acvident Bonny, really hope its okay and not totalled and happed quicker than Feb!

Nice woosh Makemeslim! Mmmm harissa! Great stuff, and zatar is nice too!

Love the Kessler quote - his book is very very good! Think its called the End of Overeating.

Anyway, have to run as heading out for lunch to a lovely steak place, Makemeslim, you might know it - Goodmans?

Going on the fat fast from Wed (business lunch tomorrow, mexican, and pub lunch on Wed with friends) and upping my fitness since 3x a week interval training, 5x a week powerplate training and badminton isn't doing it at the moment! Honestly... But hey, my 31" Seven jeans fit so guess its just a numberon the scale!

Morning All:
Thanks for the kind words regarding the accident. Looks like the youngun that hit me is telling a different story so I still have to stew till Feb 20th to find out what he told them?? Been researching another convertible so it looks like I have to decide between a Chrysler 200 or a Mustang (both convertibles). Might sound odd in the weather we have but our summers are awesome and I always seem to use my cars as pick ups so it seems like the best option.

Still scratching and clawing every pound off this body. It takes so many ups and downs just to lose one darn pound.

Looking forward to seeing more success with you'all and if not, that's okay. Tomorrow will be better.

I'm going to wait before tempting 5:2. I'll see what this week brings in losses first. We're expecting some major snow Tuesday/Wednesday so I went to the store to stock up on things. The rotisserie chicken smelled so good, so I ate that for breakfast. I'm sure it was close to 500 cals so I blew my chance at a low cal day.

Good morning everyone! Just a small drop of .2 today, but I'll take it!

Shelly, hope you get to feeling better!

Have to run this morning. ..... well, not literally, since, as you all know I don't exercise. Just lots to do with my day off. (((Hugs))) to all and I'll check in tonight.

If you want to see some crazy people panicking come to middle Georgia! ...LOL Weather states we may get 3-4 inches of snow Tuesday-Wednesday. We never get snow so I will believe when I see it, but people are going to the stores for groceries and gas by the droves. Unbelievable! I've lived in Utah which had plenty of snow so it doesn't bother me, but I am always amazed at how crazy people get around here when there's a chance of snow or ice.

Oh ladies, I'm back after being gone for a few months. Starting weight a horrible 233! I'm up like 17lbs in two months. Stress, no sleep, over eating all to blame. Starting Atkins Induction today. I need your support as reading the forums helps keep your mind on your goal and accountable every day. I will try and be on here posting all the time. What's the forum again for the induction recipes?

Good luck.

Starting weight 233
No goal weight yet. Maybe next month.

I now feel like I'm over the hump and definitely will not be seeing the 160s ever again! I really should know myself by now and the fact that the scale has never really budged in the week following TOM. Why beat myself up about it? It's just how it works for me.

Welcome, luvleliz!

I haven't really paid attention to what your area is supposed to get exactly in amounts, but you all are going to get something. The weather guy I follow is expecting 6+ inches for us and the tv mets are calling for 2-4 inches. I'm following the weather guy because he's usually accurate and has been calling for this for over a week. The panic in our area is going to come when we get a lot more than expected. But since hurricanes are an issue here, most of us have generators. So its I'm just buying a few more groceries than usually so I don't have to drive in the mess.

Welcome luvleliz! Great place to start is the recipe room here or google Linda Sue that's the one I use most.

Okay guys suggestions needed... I am planning on making fried coconut chicken over spaghetti squash for dinner tonite with grilled summer squash- my chicken will not have the coconut. But I need a sauce suggestion - What kind of sauce goes good with coconut chicken? I don't want to do a spaghetti type sauce, but want it to be one I can make low carb. I thought about a low carb orange sauce but I think that might be to sweet tasting. Any suggestions?
