Happy New Year everyone!

Well, didn't come close to meeting my Dec goal - just went up and down, ending at the same place where I started. Now, only six weeks till Cancun...

But clothes are looser so maybe things are working.

No specific resolutions, just hoping to get to 60kg during the year. Starting off at 77.3kg. Looking to get back to pilates as well, and continue with my normal training (weights, hiit cardio). And would love to wean myself off diet drinks by the end of the year... I'm giving myself a year as I admit, I am addicted to diet anything! Mmmmm Dr Pepper Zero, Crystal Light, Cherry Diet Coke...

But anyway, will be trying to reach 75kg this month.

Welcome to all new posters and welcome back to the oldies!

January goals: Crunches everyday, arm weights every other day (as tolerated). Weight goal: 155

January 1: 166.4
January 2: 166.6 (crunches)

B: 2 eggs scrambled in butter
L: 2 egg omelet w/ 1/4 cup baby spinach, 1/4 cup feta cheese

Lunch was so darn delightful that I might just have the same thing for dinner!

Blugg, thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it!

A weird new thing I am trying this year is oil pulling. Which sounds very odd, but I have the coconut oil in the house. I'm hoping this will help my gum issues and general dental health.

Back on track!

My goal is to remove 24 pounds by 04/01/14, about 8 pounds per month. Is that asking too much?! I tend to lose slowly, but I'm going to give it a go. I'll be staying at induction levels of carbs, as this has proven to be the best way for me to lose.

Happy new year to all, and best wishes for your own weight loss goals!

Emma at the weight you are now 8 lbs a month might be tough. I've been trying to lose these last lbs for Months! I go Up and Down every day. But I do have Fibromylgia And Hypothyroid so those things don't help with weight loss.
Good luck!!

Chelsey, I was referring mostly to the carb count. Most medicines have carbs and I already take over 10 carbs a day just in meds which is one of the reason I have to stay under 10net in food I eat to lose weight. The pain med when I calculated it adds another 4 per day if I take the minimum.

WHOOHOO Bluqq, good drop!

Tiggy, hopefully the new year will be better for you.

Good luck emma. I stay at induction carbs as well. But once you get close to goal, I think a more reasonable expectation is a pound or a little over per week. Your body tends to lock the last bit of weight up in a jail cell, puts a boulder in front of the gate, throws away the key, and sits on guard-duty.

Trini, I love your new avatar picture. You have and are doing so well.

Laura, I really feel for you.

Ahhahaha Bonny! Believe me it's an article of clothes i've Never worn in public! And probably never will Lol!
The Chantix is working really great so far. Day 2 and i've smoked 5 cig. Which is Super great for me! I'm a usual pack a day smoker so anything Under that i'm calling a win! It's mainly Habits i'm having to break and change. Like first thing in the mornings i'd take my med, get cup of coffee and smoke. Or after I ate i'd smoke so i'm having to change those habits. Boredom is another Big challange for me! The "Craving" for a cig is all but gone it's just the habit. Kwim? I'm working on it though Next wed is my offical Quit day! No more (Lord willing) after that!! I haven't turned to food but I am snacking on sunflower seeds which helps with the hand/mouth thing lol

Shelly: too funny on the bikini. LMAO.
I swear quitting smoking could be the hardest thing in the world to do. The gov't is ready to tax the heck out of us but what other help is there? There's no free quit smoking aids, no smoker's anonymous, nothing. The chemical withdrawal is supposed to be gone in a week or so but the HABIT... omg!!
Coffee = smoke
car = smoke
telephone = smoke
I too have an oral fixation!! LOL. I've tried twice and was unsuccessful and don't know if I'll ever try again. I so wish you all the blessings in the world to conquer this. You've already proven you can accomplish what you seek to so my best wishes that you slay this demon as well.

Shelly good luck on the quitting smoking, you are going to feel so much better when you get those out your life... I was a closet smoker for years...lol.. no one knew I smoked... now on occasion i will want one.. ... my dh has quit several time everytime he would be so glad he did and then he would pick them back up again... I hope he quits again soon.. He started smoking when his dad was in the hospital... he said they calm his nerves...

I agree about it being harder the smaller you get
I started in 2005 at 145 pounds with a goal of 130. I lost so quickly and hit about 125 in 2 months.....
I realized that I wanted to go lower...I fought off 25 pounds in a year to get to my goal of 100
I had to slash calories, up cardio....it was painful trying to get that off....

Bikini time in February for me. Our annual trip! Down another pound today

Bonny-Jean - Happy Birthday!!!! Enjoy the night out with your son and the yummy steak. That's my favorite way to celebrate my birthday too.

Shelly - WTG on trying to quit smoking.

I took an exercise class last night - it involved rowing and spinning. It was awesome. I could barely get off the bike after the class. Ouch. And I'm super sore already this morning. Usually my muscle soreness comes 24 hours later, so this is a sign of some awful soreness to come I guess.

Food for today should be:
B: quiche - eggs, sausage, cheese, scallions, brocollini
L: coney island chili dog pie
D: chicken and broccoli

mjgh06 and princessmommy, thank you for your comments! I may be overoptimistic about the 8 pounds per month, but I'm going to give it my all and see where I end up. I've attained "goal weights" in the past, and those last few pounds were rough. Now I'm 59, said to be the age group that has the most difficulty losing! I've had a health scare recently, and that is the best motivation to quit horsing around. Good luck to all; I'll be checking in weekly.
