Getting your driving test done with the State Troopers?
Could be worse; there's a youtube video of a mock driving test in France where the tester makes you text & drive (on a safe track). Everyone fails!
Think I have a setting wrong, I have to search every time I come on to see if there has been replies etc
Listening to you ladies, I'm learning all about the latest fashions; never heard of compression tops. Socks yes, tops no.

If I'm just wearing a loose sweatshirt, or loose sweater, I don't bother with them, but when I'm wearing a form fitting top, I always wear them. Just helps to smooth everything out. Loose skin is a big issue for me, so it just helps to hold some of that in and make it all look better.

Trinigirl: Be well.

Shelly: Have you thought about exercising?? It's not you food intake. You look good and if you're happy with your body shape why obsess over that scale?? Can't think of anything else for you to try??

I'm dealing with nightly leg cramps for the last few nights. Although most evenings are a cup or two of coffee a maybe a diet coke, I drink lots of water all day long at work. I've tried adding a little salt to my food but that hasn't helped. Not sure why this is happening but I was up twice last night. Funny thing is it happens around the boney, outside area of my ankle???
What???

Shelly, sorry your scale bounced! Doesn't sound like enough food to cause a gain. Must be water fluctuation.

Trinigirl, sending hugs right back at ya! Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Hopefully you can get some rest!! Love your new photo! You are beautiful (and tiny)!!!

I managed to get through the night with no more food. I was a little hungry at bedtime, but not too bad. I broke out in hives last night and woke up with some today. I'm praying that it's just a random thing and that I'm not developing a food allergy to one of my LC staples! No food allergies yet, but I'm allergic to everything else (grass, weeds, dust, mold, cats, dogs, wool, etc). Fingers crossed.....

I think I'm going to turn my remaining chicken thighs into pcaltman's chicken bacon soup today. Sounds so good! Just have to run out and get some of the veggies for it.

My weight tracking has been very inconsistent lately (tend to only write it down when on plan). It's also been hard to post my numbers since I allowed myself to gain back half what I lost last year, but here goes:

1/1-1/4: DNW
1/5: 188.6 back on plan
1/6: 186.4
1/7: 187.2 this gain while on plan caused a relapse I know better.......
1/8-1/19: DNW
1/20: 194.6
1/21: 191.6
1/22: 190.0
1/23: 189.0 back on track, but still 19 lbs over my low of 170 from last summer!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Here's to staying on plan!! Let's do this!!

Bonny, I suffered from leg cramps last year too. My doc said it was likely due to magnesium or potassium deficiency. Maybe add supplements? I added a magnesium citrate supplement and they went away (also helped a lot with constipation). Hope they get better!

I didn't weigh this morning. We had everyone at our house yesterday for some sledding since our yard is the only one with a decent hill. So we ended up having pizza for dinner. It was a good day since we rarely get snow here. But I think I'm over the cold weather for now. Back on plan today. I can't respond to all the posts right now since its going to be another busy day.

Congrats to everyone staying on plan!

Julie – I agree the best achievement is staying on plan, drop or no drop. Omg! Bacon fried cabbage…what a wonderful thing! Great job staying on plan at work! I did the same thing gaining back. It was frustrating, but you are on the right track now!

Shelly – that soup sounds wonderful. I really do need to gather some ingredients and make some too. I am so proud of you. It was difficult for me to stick around when my weight wasn’t doing what I wanted it to, but you are here every day and holding yourself accountable. It will come off, because you are being so diligent. Keep up the good work!

Tiggy – Seems everyone I talk to about the tatas is different. On me they usually are the first thing to go. Then it is my waist and the thighs are dead last. So I have to wait until the very end of the weight loss to lose these incredibly unsightly hips and thighs! Thanks for the recommendations on the suckwear

CdnPaleoGuy – My son got to see a video with the troopers about texting and driving. Also, he had a firsthand experience with messing with the music on his iphone and getting in a accident. Thankfully he was ok, but now he will not even touch his phone in the car.

Trinigirl – Hope you start feeling better. Glad your weight is holding steady for you!

Bonny – Have you considered taking magnesium? I have read a lot of forums that recommend if for low carbers with leg cramps.

PC, arb, MtherGoos, and BulldogMom -

Jan 22 – 176.0 meat and egg and daily water goal met!
Jan 23 – 175.4 (c25k scheduled for tonight)

I am going to have to check into this compression top thing. I’m gathering from your discussion that this isn’t just a regular tank top. I wear tank tops under my clothes all the time. Do any of you have any recommendations? Are they expensive?

I am travelling for business in about 5 weeks and would love to get something like this to wear with my business suits!

Good morning all,

Well they decided to cancel school for the whole week and cancel mid term exams for the kids. Now what do I do with them. I feel like they have been home sense Christmas. UGH!!!!!

I get leg cramps very easy. The only way for me to get rid of them is eating broccoli or spinach. I try to add some to every day meals.

Trini - hope you feel better.

Tonight I think I will be making meatloaf, mock cauliflower, gravy, and corn for the kids.

I think I got my syrup from Sugarfreemegawarehouse as well. The American/Canadian/Australian shop in Covent Garden is gone so not really sure where a real shop is anymore.

Graig farm definitely do a veg box as well as meat, and free delivery if you order over £50 and they will even do a Saturday delivery. I found a few places that do unpasteurised butter, cream, milk and cheese - again, all online... There is always Borough Market

I did consider getting a veg box but found they contain too many root veg and not enough salad, so just try and hit the market once a week
There used to be a shop in Chelsea but that closed down when all the bad press about Atkins was circulating. It was only 5 mins away from me so I was peed off when I learned it closed down. Thankfully we can buy online but it's a pain when you only want one or two things because then you have to pay for delivery. Oh well, mustn't grumble I suppose. Day 6 for me today I believe, I've not weighed yet so not sure how much I have lost....think I'll hold out until the end of the week. Hopescale is going to be kind to me. I do feel less bloated for sure.

Check in when you can Trini. We do miss your posts.

Bonny, maybe try some calcium supplements. I was getting some severe cramps around the outer ankle, upper calf. My whole foot would turn sideways and it was so painful. Magnesium just helped with the bathroom issue and potassium made it worse for me. The calcium tabs helped get rid of the leg cramps.

Good 1lb drop Julie!

Doing Great Lori! Hope you have a good trip. Will you be able to post while away?

Tiggy, the top was the first to go for me, went from a small D to now a full B.

MakeMeSlim – I admire you being able to stay away from the scale. It is a morning routine for me. I feel lost if I forget to weigh each morning.

MJ – I have confirmed that my hotel has free wifi. I do think that I have to get a power converter to plug in my laptop, but some say that the hotels usually have them as well. I will have to check on this. I will find a way to post I want to stay on plan and still enjoy the local cuisine. It appears as though I should be able to do that easily. I also have been looking at some running tours as I intend to be up to about 5-6K by then. BTW, your weights are looking great! Congrats!

Shelly – I hear you! I am determined this time to look to great examples (like you) and not get derailed again. I wasn’t near as close to goal as I wanted to be before I was derailed. I have seen results for those of you that just keep sticking with it. Unfortunately, we are probably effected bay so many things, salt, fat, hormones, etc, that it could be anything. Ugh!

I was exactly the same and although I did not realise it at the time, it was the reason I always failed. As soon as I said right I trust in what I am doing and I will lose weight, I literally melted! The body is bound to fluctuate from time to time, we all know that but when I see the scale go up I convince myself things are not working and ultimately set myself up for disaster.

Thanks Lori and Missy! Support from you guys sure helps keep me on track!

I was very hungry this morning but truly didn't feel like eggs. I had soup on the brain so I used pcaltman's chicken bacon soup recipe as inspiration and tweaked it to accommodate ingredients I had on hand (too cold to run to grocery store) and I cooked it on the stove so I could have it now. I used 6 chicken thighs, 1 pkg pre-cooked bacon chopped up, 1 carton chicken broth (think it's about 4 cups), 4 celery stalks chopped and sautéed in 2 tbsp butter, 1 cup salsa (I didn't have fresh onion or the other veggies the recipe called for), onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. I let that simmer about 30 minutes then added a carton of sour cream (instead of the cream cheese called for in recipe). Since it had a tex me flair to it I added shredded cheese on top in my bowl. I'm sure it would have been much better if I had the right ingredients and patience to let it slow cook! However, it was still yummy and a good quick breakfast! I think I will have it for lunch too! I love soup this time of year!!

The boys are getting restless being home from school so long (and it's too darn cold to play outside) so we are going to the movies this afternoon. They loved the movie Frozen so much the first time we are going to see it again. I even enjoyed it a lot and the music is great. The hardest part will be the popcorn smell! I'll bring a 100 calorie snack pack of almonds to use in case of emergency.

Hello All --
Good morning to everyone! I realized this morning that my scale was not adjusted correctly (houseguest fiddled with it). so i am really up two pounds from where i thought i was. GRAH!!! Yesterday i was quite dehydrated-- i had taken a lasik the night before and I was fairly weak and nauseous. I did take potassium supps and that worked OK, but I'm still feeling a little punky today. Thing is, I have had no appetite for a day. Not even wine or diet coke! I drank plenty of water, though. We'll see what happens tomorrow on the scale, becaue i feel the same today. That cheeseecake i made might have had something to do with it, too. I really don't want any more of it. It wasn't very good and twisted my tummy around. I couldn't believe the scale this morning because i feel pretty darned thin, so I'm thinking that it is an anomaly and tomorrow will right itself.

Dec. 1: 137
Jan 1: 138
Jan. 13: 137.75
Jan. 14: 139
Jan. 18: 139
Jan. 22: 139
Jan. 23: 138.75

Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

makemeslim - Interesting. I find that I have the opposite issue. If I am "away" from the scale for too long I tend to give myself more excuses why I could just have a little taste of this or that.

julie - I loved the music in Frozen too. and my two little ones would definitely love to go again. Thankfully we are a little further north and they go to school even when it is cold and there is snow on the ground or road.

DQ - hope your tummy trouble disappear soon. I have a couple of cheesecake muffins I made a few days ago in the fridge. They are quite yummy. I'm certain your next cheesecake will be good too. Maybe some ingredient wasn't quite right? Feel better.

Good Morning Everyone!

DQ, I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well! Hope everything is back to normal soon!

Shelly, it couldn't possibly be your food. You know I don't exercise, but I think Bonny may be right and maybe you'll need to give it a try to get those last few pounds gone. I can't imagine what else it could be.

Julie, I know it makes for some hectic days, but, believe me, you'll miss these days! Enjoy their time at home. I'm envious!

Lori, I get my compression tank tops at Kmart. They're made by Maidenform. I've tried the Spanx before too, which are way more expensive, and I honestly didn't find them to be any better. I think these were around $15 each. They have them in different colors and different styles.

Trini, Hope you're feeling better! We miss your daily posts, but know that you're very busy! So proud of you for maintaining so wonderfully!

Hmm, I just read this:
As people age, excess calcium accumulates in the muscles, causing leg cramps. Magnesium will remedy this.

Bonny, I take magnesium and potassium every day to help with a variety of things, but also for leg cramps.

I keep meaning to ask, has anybody tried making their own bone broth? And do you drink it daily? I've been thinking of trying this, it's supposed to have a lot of health benefits, and since I don't drink coffee, I thought I could drink it each morning with some MCT oil to up my fats for breakfast.

Well ya'll I applied for a job today!! Eekkk! It's at a little convience store about 10 min from my house. I worked there 4 yrs ago for the previous owner. Loved it! Been closed for over a yr and it's got new owners now. It opened up today and I was talking to the manager and he said they were hiring a cook. So I applied! Nervous!!! Haven't had a job since 2009! But I need and want to go back to work. So i'm Praying that God's will be done! He knows if this job would work for me or not

Shelly, good luck! How exciting!!! I'll be keeping you in my prayers!

Bonny, yes I just buy them at WalMart. I know I take 3 of each, but I don't remember how many milligrams each one is, I'll have to look at the bottles.
