Yes and the good news is you can go for some cheaper meats/poultry that are higher in fat like the drumsticks I'm having tonight. I've just put them in the oven, hope they hurry up as I'm starving Marvin! I do like chicken breast though and fillet steak and they are quite pricey here when buying organic as is bacon but hey ho.

Feeling quite chatty this evening! As I said, I will weigh tomorrow but am guessing I have about 30lbs to lose. this time last year, I was at goal....never thought I'd pile it back on again but I think I've learned my lesson. Tomorrow in going to go through some of my smaller clothes and keep them out for thinspiration.

I let out a big "WOO HOO!" when I got on the scale this morning! Finally back into the 150s for the first time since July. Now I am only 9 pounds up from my lowest.

Today is my youngest child's 19th birthday. I bought a small cheesecake for the kids at the bakery yesterday and I'm making a sugar free one for me and DH so we can have some cake as well. Making a big spicy sausage pasta thing for the birthday boy and I was looking at the ingredients and as long as I don't eat the pasta (I'll just fish it out), the meal should be well under 10 carbs. DH is now down 22 pounds. I am so proud of him.

I am sorry that so many are struggling right now. I think being honest about the struggles helps minimize the damage and keeps us all accountable to ourselves and each other. When I read about what all of you are going through (good and bad), it helps me stay the course or get back off the mat when I've done something that I shouldn't. Stay strong, everyone!

Welcome, makemeslim!

I think your plan for the next week sounds great. Quit the exercising, stay consistent with your food, just eat clean and don't deviate from your plan and see how it goes. You're doing a great job, so keep it up and try to be patient. I know it really sucks when you're doing everything right and still can't budge the scale. It will happen though, and in the meantime, we're all here for you to vent to!
It's been 1 week without exercise, and I have gained about 4 lbs.

Thanks Bulldogmom and Mthrgoos. I do know it's just a little bump in the road, but gosh darn it - it Sucks! That and I have had a headache all day. Wish I could just hide in my pillow today.

arb, the only I can see looking at your list - you could drop the protein intake down to 70g a day on average while keeping the fat up. Excess protein can have the same affect as carbs and be stored as fat or slow weight loss.

I am sorry Shelly for your bounce. It seems the Trixster or Gremlin came by a few of us last night. We'll all keep at it and it WILL come off!! So had you not gotten off the Chantrix yet? You said you were going to talk to your doc about it.

Mthrgoos - oh no, only .2 Maybe it is just from the stress of going out to eat and not having your house right. Once you are back to your norm, things will go better. How much longer until they are done?

Whoo Hoo Gypsy!! Have fun with your son's Bday party tonite. Spicy sausage sounds really GOOD. I am actually hungry right now though. I have been baking a whole chicken with all the seasonings for two hours and the house smells are killing me.

Ava, has anything changed in your diet? If you were taking in more protein because of your exercise routine and then stopped exercising, that could be the issue like I said with arb above. Don't give up!! This month is only half over. You can still get some good losses by the end of the month. Maybe post some recent examples of what your eating/drinking or if you know your ratios per day.

I usually eat the same things all the time out of habit. I cut out my coffee and hwc with splenda. 2 large eggs for breakfast scrambled in a tbsp of butter light on salt with pepper. Either 6 oz of pork steak or ribeye steak broiled for lunch and will repeat for dinner, or 2 baked chicken thighs. Half cup of broccoli or cauliflower with a little butter lightly salted, with pepper with lunch and dinner. I won't have the same vegetable with both lunch and dinner. So if I have broccoli for lunch, I will have cauliflower with dinner. Only snacks I'm having IF I have a snack at all is home made flank steak jerky. The jerky is made with low sodium soy sauce, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper. It is sliced very thin. Still drinking about 100oz of water a day. I'm just in a plateau currently. Ever since I hit the 40lb marker. I'm going to assume eventually my body will stop being frightened of letting go of fat and water. Eventually it will happen, I'm sure.

Hoping you're right Laura! I am wearing a shirt today that I've never worn before because it was too tight, so that's a good sign. I know my weight loss will slow down the closer I get to goal.... but I'm not that close yet!

After peaking in a few other threads and seeing some DOB's, I'm guessing I'm the oldest one on here, well our Jan thread for sure. I'm 56. I would never ask your age so how about just yes or no? Ugh. Serves me right for waiting so long!!

Gypsy, WTG! Happy Birthday to your son!

Mthergoos, I agree with Laura. My thought is that its just the extra sodium that restaurants like to put in our food.

Laura, Are things any better at work? You're doing good hanging in there!

Shelly, We're going to get you through this. Something has to be making you retain water. There is no way you've eaten so much that you've gained a few lbs of fat in just a few days.

Avaleigh, Good job on hanging in there. I like your positive attitude. I feel like I personally do better with exercising.

Bonny-Jean, I'm never going to age. I stopped counting in my 20s and my youngest thinks I'm 27.

I thought this picture was funny. I have cut back on my coffee since I'm limiting hwc.

Bulldogmom - Well it's still crazy but at least there isn't a tour from Costco coming though this week.

I'm 44 too! I'll be 45 in March though Lol
Thanks ya'll So much for the support and encourgment! It means a Lot! I almost didn't post my weight this morning. I'm embarrased, Ashamed and heartbroken over gaining This much! It's just still so insane to me How I could have gained it so fast!
I can't remember who asked, maybe Missy? About me quitting the chantix yet and Yes I did already. Took last pill thursday! I am already feeling better this afternoon. Not feeling so depressed and upset so that is a Huge blessing! Not so exhausted either. Never knew That was a possible side effect but from what I googled exhaustion, weakness etc are side effects too! Wish i'd known that before taking it! I feel like I did really well today lc wise. Lunch was roasted chicken with salad, supper was leftover chicken diced up with mayo, a bit of onion and green pepper. Used pork rines with it. Water All day! I still feel like i'm retaining water though since rings are tighter. Guess i'll see what that stupid scale says tomorrow

I'm 46, not 47 til August. How funny that so many of us are so close in age, and Bonny, I wish every day that I had done this in my 20s! Shelly, you know you didn't gain all that, it's just that darn bloating and all that your body is going through. Never be embarrassed to share with us, we've all been there.

Yes!! I wonder how different my life would be if I had lost this weight earlier on. I'm in a good place now but I know I missed a lot of opportunities because I felt my weight was holding me back.

And Shelly and anyone else, never be embarrassed to share! Whatever the issue is, we're here to support. There is always someone in this group who knows exactly what to say and when to say it. You all have talked me down from the ledge many times.

Geez, we got a bunch of spring chickens here
Bonny-Jean; you have 2 yrs on me. No worries ladies, after 20+ years of martial bliss, I've learned never to ask about age or weight
Off to Cornwall to visit a huge Walmart distribution centre today; due to the timings, not sure whether I should bring along some snacks to keep me going or see how long the ketosis state keeps me feeling ok. Will most likely pack something (sardines/hard boiled eggs) in case the majority wants to stop at Subways or some other fast food joint.
Hope the scale & tape measure are kind to you all. Think mine are busted
Have a great day!

Day two and all is going well. Felt quite hungry at 1pm, then realised I had not eaten anything so had some leftover drumsticks with some feta and rocket. I don't seem to be able to stay out of the toilet which is a good thing but a bit of a pain as it got me up twice last night! I've got a thing for drumsticks at the moment....I don't usually buy them but seeings as I am enjoying them I'm going to have them again for dinner.

Morning Everyone! Did get a bit of a loss today, not the big Whoosh I was hoping for, but down about a pound and a half, so I'll take it and be thankful for it! When I look at my numbers, I'm down exactly 8 pounds from this time last month, so I guess I am right where I should be. I average 8-10 pounds per month. I was just expecting a big drop after not weighing for 10 days. Hopefully the rest of the month will show some more losses.

I think I am 41 Bonny, but some days feel well in my 80's and others like I am in my 20's. So my age is determined by how I feel

Cdn, smart idea to bring the snacks with you. It always helps to be prepared.

Lorias, I have found it very difficult to add in even low carb items after being on an extended carb fast. The body gets used to eating without them so it will gain when you add even a little back in. BUT if you keep them in your diet after a week your body will readjust and you will lose the gain and start to lose continually again. If you don't start losing again after the 2nd week with the new carb amount, that is when you know that food item is a no-no. You just have to be aware that any new food even a very low carb item can cause a weight gain if your body has not been used to getting it.

Bulldogmom, Whoot! Whoot! .8 loss there my girl! COngrats!

Mthrgoos, A POUND AND A HALF!!!!! WOW! Congrats!

Congrats to all those losing and to all those not giving up!
